Should I read the books? I feel like I should. I've never been much into fantasy, but I may as well give it a go.

I guess it wont be too hard after watching the series though.
book 3 [sp]pretty sure the purple wedding is gonna happen next season, if that's what your'e referring to.[/sp]
Well that's a shame. Was really looking forward to it.
[sp]But Littlefinger doesn't operate in the rules. That's why Varys is horrified by him, no one can know what he is doing because he is so random and chaotic to others.[/sp]
General book spoilers (mainly ASoS): [sp] Most people don't fully realize he's the one that kicked off this whole damn thing when getting Lysa to poison Jon Arryn. He's been making plays from the start along with Varys and I doubt either of them will actually get cornered with ease. Sansa will tap into Littlefinger's vast amount of social and manipulative abilities and learn to 'play the game' herself. I don't see her killing him due to knowing how much he cared for her mother. It's hard to say what Petry is planning and what knowledge he holds. We now know Varys' intentions and have a rough idea of what he'll do to make sure his plans succeed. Can't say as much for Baelish. [/sp]
It'd seriously like to know more about Hodor. He's not a mentally handicapped is he? What if he holds some deep secret. What an ending it'd be if the camera showed Hodor turning around, zoom on face, "I'm going to fuck you up".
Enchantment!
hey you guys
ALRIGHT, TIME FOR A REAL DISCUSSION WHO LOOKS MORE BADASS IN THE RAIN ???

Varys > Littlefinger (as far as the game goes).[/sp]

So blame Varys.
They both look like pansies [editline]5th June 2013[/editline] What confuses me is, (book 5) [sp]Why did Varys have a hand in Robert's Rebellion and now trying to put a new Targaryen on the throne?[/sp]
Because MASSIVE SPOILERS ADWD+ [sp]Aegon is a Blackfyre pretender. Varys isn't trying to put a new Targaryen on the throne, he's trying to put a Blackfyre on the throne. It seems he wanted to kill off Viserys, not sure about Dany. Perhaps he wanted to marry Aegon and Dany so that the Blackfyres would be legitimate again. As to why, who honestly knows? Maybe he's a Blackfyre. Maybe Illyrio is. Maybe Varys does truly serve the realm and was trying to put Rhaegar on the throne early, but it got fucked up so now he's trying to put a person who was raised to lead on the throne (and happens to be somewhat legitimate since he's pretending to be Aegon and technically the Blackfyres were legitimized).[/sp] [editline]5th June 2013[/editline] Also the proof for that spoiler is in the pudding. It's in [sp]AFFC page 781. Some dude talks about an inn that had a sign that was a black dragon (BLACKFYRE SIGIL). One day someone orders it cut down since it might be supporting blackfyres. So they throw it in a river (THE BLACKFYRES RUN ACCROSS THE NARROW SEA). Years later the dragon sign washes up and is red with rust (THE SYMBOL OF HOUSE TARGARYEN). So basically "The Blackfyres ran across the narrow sea, many generations later they are masquerading as Targaryens." Yay metaphors.[/sp]
[sp]But Littlefinger doesn't operate in the rules. That's why Varys is horrified by him, no one can know what he is doing because he is so random and chaotic to others.[/sp]
book spoiler [sp]But he's still operating in the realm of the game and everyone we see he interacts with is playing it to an extent as well. The others he usually faces are those who are accustomed to certain rules, so even if he's playing in his own system that these people don't understand, its still overall to give him an edge in the game. So someone even more random than he is could be able to break through his defenses.[/sp]
robb will always look more badass.

[sp]The power went out right as the doors shut, that means they brought out the good hooch and everyone had a great time right right guys[/sp]

I figured out how GoT ends Azor Ahai (whoever the hell it is) dies and the white walkers overrun everything and the last shot of the series is the snowy Red Keep from Daenerys' vision and the ground is littered with frozen bodies and then Larry David wanders in and looks around with an awkward and confused look and the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme plays gonna pitch this to HBO
Hodor is replaced with Larry David in the season finale to see if anyone would notice.

Good thing I'm reading the books again to pick up all the stuff that I somehow missed.
Only open this spoiler if you have read all the books! [sp]Can someone refresh my memory, don't remember this part of the last book, but Jon Snow is killed while commanding Castle Black isn't he?[/sp]
Book spoiler [sp]Didn't Jon have a faceoff with a Whitewalker boss sort of creature? I can't remember, but I remember there was some battle that may or may not have happened, and the Whitewalker said something like "You have a lot to learn". Or is my brain being completely fucking retarded and forgetting it completely? I think it happened in the last book outside the North Wall.[/sp]

Every week, the show delights viewers, myself included, with a series of stirring performances, deftly maneuvered feats of visual storytelling, and eye-popping special effects. It truly is a joy to watch my novels—my life’s work—come to life on the screen, rendered with tact, faithfulness, and considerable filmmaking skill. That being said, HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I totally forgot that whole thing about the Red Wedding! Christ almighty, talk about a punch in the goddamned gut. I must have been sitting there for 20 minutes afterwards just completely numb with disbelief, like, “What the hell did I just watch?”
He recieves a letter from Ramsay Bolton/Mance Rayder (depending on what you believe), wherein Ramsay threatens the Night's Watch, which leads Jon to the decision that they should take up arms against Ramsay, iirc.
