ban pollytheparrot mods ?
If you did that you'd have to ban half this thread for "Oh you sweet summer child..." and "Wow I can't believe Hodor [sp]hodor's[/sp]!!@!"

[del]Yes because if someone has a theory about a positive ending and you say "Wow you're so naive everyone dies" it's as good as spoiling it for them as they will be expecting a negative event. And going "Wow man Hodor [sp]Hodor's[/sp]" leaves nothing to the imagination and again may as well be outright spoiling an event.[/del]

Wait no I missed the point entirely didn't I?
Oh never mind about the Saxon Stories then.
Uhtred just gets all of his friends and girlfriends and they all go to his hall and drink beer and fight and fuck together and nothing bad ever happens
I got this song stuck in my head god dammit.

It is kind of neat to think though
Targaryens have the power of dragons somehow and they can't get burned, so their bloodline, in a way, is truly "divine" and/or "magical".
With Bran, he's got the power of the wargs, so maybe the stark line is also "magical" and "divine", maybe not as mature as the targaryen bloodline but still. And focused on a "northern" ability like warging
If anything it would mean the true houses of power would be Stark and Targaryen, since they have more than just politics or wealth, they are divine-esque beings in of themselves (if fully matured and realized).
Or it's all just a fluke :v:
Apparently the Targaryens can't "not get burned". Apparently Dany's pyre deal was a one-off thing and there are cases where some Targaryens have a little more heat resistance but they aren't invulnerable to fire.

I wish they had vocals more fitting to GoT. The vocals are good, but I want a tavern version. :V The song is supposed to be srs I guess, but fuck it.
edit: I was showing a friend season 3 and it turns out you hear the Brothers Without Banners singing it when they're first shown. Gimme dat version.

But she didn't get burned when she was handling the eggs earlier in season one either
And she mentioned in season 1 where [sp]her brother gets killed, that he wasn't a true "dragon" because the gold melting on his head wouldn't have killed him[/sp]

(AGoT or series 1)[sp]Dany's knowledge of the targs is limited to what she's been told, and Viserys is about as reliable as Norton Anti-virus when it comes to facts, he was clearly insane. The targ fire resistance was stated by GRRM to be just a slightly higher heat tolerance, the fact that Dany survived the pyre was because the whole thing was basically a form of blood magic. (Mirri Maz Duur's life for the dragons)
Hell, if surviving that pyre wasn't a big thing, they wouldn't bother calling her the unburnt. Maybe the show should have included the fact that all her hair was burnt off, to show that she was still affected by it.[/sp]
It's all S1, so no real need to spoiler tag it.
I can't remember whether Stannis says it in the books (book 3 spoilers) [sp]but in the last episode he's about to execute Davos for treason until Melisandre/the letter stops him. I have a bad feeling that if Stannis and Davos both survive the winter/whatever else, Stannis will still execute Davos.[/sp]
Book 5 and earlier [sp]I kinda doubt Stannis will survive all the way to the end. If Dany ever gets her dainty ass to Westeros she's not like to ally with a Baratheon, and Stannis is a false Azor Ahzai if the humongous amount of evidence is correct. Davos though, I don't see him dying.[/sp]

Stannis in the show is pretty much the opposite of Stannis is the books.

i'm glad we're going to see more of theon's sister, though. we haven't explored her character AT ALL, really. does she become one of the new "main" characters for next season, or is this a side thing that won't be covered very much?[/sp]

I apologise for my previously plot spoiling comments. I will make my comments far less likely to spoil anything for those who have not watched the show recently. I shall use spoiler tags generously.
I just watched episode 10.

That did seem super harsh, but at the same time I think he was right and she should have done it.
