Decided to read ahead of the series, just finished ASOS/book 3. [sp]It's amazing how it turns out that the Lannisters were the ones being played all the time. You've assumed from the start that everything was them, because they had the motives and were a bunch of assholes. And that is what the rest of the realm did too, shit Littlefinger is good. I'm still not sure why he killed Jon Arryn, though. Maybe it'll be revealed. Also, ffs Oberyn you idiot, you had him. And damn, resurrected Catelyn is scary.[/sp]
[sp]It's revealed why at the end of book 4. Something like the last chapter, or just the one before it.[/sp]
and it's rickard KARstark shit
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16275932/Karstak.bmp[/t] ???
When you think about it, the vast majority of this shit could have been avoided if the characters in book one did everything slightly better. The starks fucked everything up for a whole nation.

If Robb wouldn't have married Jeyne Westerling, and if Stannis would have brought Melisandre to the siege of KL, or what about if Edmure would have done according to Robb's plan and let Clegane cross the bridge, then Tywin wouldn't have continued on to KL, and Stannis might have won the siege, and what if Robb didn't trust Theon? And all of those are just from the top of my head.
I personally think Mr. Gatiss will be [sp]The Kindly man[/sp] or possibly [sp]Crow's Eye, or his brother.[/sp]
I don't think Gatiss will have a major role at all. He's a very busy man with Doctor Who and Sherlock. Sherlock requires him to produce, write, and act. I can't see him having much free time.
Gatiss has finished filming his role.
I personally think Mr. Gatiss will be [sp]The Kindly man[/sp] or possibly [sp]Crow's Eye, or his brother.[/sp]
Doesn't suit the kindly man at all. The kindly man is supposed to be a friendly looking old man who probably has an adorable smile. Anyway, i don't think they're far enough in to be introducing him. He'd be fifth season most likely. Crows eye? More likely. Likely? Not realy.
Gatiss has finished filming his role.
Blimey that was quick. Lends to my idea that he really doesn't have a big role at all. He's just too busy. Right now he's got: A Doctor Who episode to write, a docu-drama to advertise and supervise till release, a Sherlock episode to film, A Sherlock series to finish producing, probably another Sherlock series to produce, another episode of Sherlock to write, scenes in Sherlock to film. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a one/two episode character.
He started filming on July 9th and was done before traveling to Comic-Con (July 17th I think), so that means only 8 days of filming, maybe even less. We know they've been filming some Dragonstone stuff from day one, so he might just have another cameo appearance ala Burn Gorman.
He doesn't really look like Mace Tyrell at all, too intelligent looking
Okay, after reading that it may be The Kindly Man, I'm changing my opinion to that. He's a good casting.

[editline]21st July 2013[/editline]
holy shit ive been waiting for something like that to happen for so long
yeah they set this up so long ago, i was hoping it would go more like a fight scene abrupts and 3 guys have him cornered and underestimate him and he kills all 3 of them and runs away

"He may be the Shakespeare of the Seven Kingdoms, he may be the reason we are all here... but he is not your bitch. George R. R. Martin!"
"Never ever working with them again" [sp]Yeah right.[/sp]
That scene is so fucking surreal, yet i have a hard time believing they removed it.
They stated in the comic-con panel that it didn't fit and flow in the episode at all. Also here is the panel

Then I thought, maybe it's not a hobby, maybe he wants to prepare his own food to be cautious, like when you see him gutting the stag in season 1. Also, more foreshadowing.
It's more I wouldn't expect to see him fishing, as that's kind of lowbrow. He'd certainly have some hobbies, as to only work implies that he cannot trust his retainers, or that he is too poor to hire people to do things for him. (and he's ludicrously rich, as we all well know) He'd want to do enough important work to look respectable and responsible, but to maintain his dignity, he'd need hobbies and a reasonable amount of leisure time. I can full well see him hunting (hell, that's why he's skinning the stag and such) as that's a nobles sport, but fishing is pretty common. He wants to uphold his families prestige and looks, so he'll do what are considered to be respectable things.
Yeah it did feel kind of odd to see Tywin fishing, he's kind of the person with a mix between getting a lowly servant to do it but also he's got that get up and go attitude that he'd do it himself.
Did not know he was faking his... old age feeble-mindedness.
I see why they cut the scene, it didn't feel like an average GoT scene. Tywin wasn't really acting like Tywin.

He takes people for what they are and deal with them as such, much like the problems he faces. He's very much a fishing type, as a fishing type is often a cerebral type. He'd spend the time thinking. I think you've misunderstood his character or see it as overly two-dimensional. Tywin should start his own nature survival show.
