And this is making you very angry?
And this is making you very angry?
It's not so much angry as frustrated that every person I ask seems to prefer Arya over Sansa, and it often seems like I'm the only Sansa fan out there.
Sansa didn't do anything to be likeable in the show yet.
After AFFC, I personally like Sansa more than Arya
Ok to be honest i do like Sansa but the badassness of Arya keeps me blind
I dunno, I just think Arya's an immature brat who is slow to learn the lessons she really needs to learn.
Arya over Sansa in the first few books
Sansa over Arya in the last few books.
That's how I see it.
Realy. I like arya more and more. sansa is much more likeable in the last books though.
Which do you like better.
If you like to fuck girls their age, you've got more serious questions to ponder.
The actor who plays sansa is a year younger than me. Arya is two years younger than me. both are over 16, That's legal In the Uk
But i'm scared of arya's eyebrows
:tinfoil:
How can you not like sansa she wears dresses and eats lemon cakes and afraids of everything

She's the classical "damsel in distress", which annoyed me as cliche in the first couple of books.

In the show I would say she's done ok for herself given the awkward situation she was put in.
Oh I fucking detested Sansa in the first book, and most of the second book. Christ Sansa, listen to Sandor for once and realize that life isn't like your stupid fucking songs! [sp]And then she betrays Ned![/sp] Ahhhhhhhh
But she got a lot better from there.
No she didn't. She's still dumb as fucking brick. What got better was everything going on around her, not her character

[sp]Yeah, people seem to think that being used as a pawn for little finger makes her some sort of political player now.[/sp]
I used to hate Sansa but I can't help but like her now out of pure sympathy. She just needs a hug or something.
It's not that she's dumb, it's the fact that for the majority of the situations she's been in, she can't really do anything. She betrayed her father in the hopes that he would take the black, as the Lannisters promised her, and couldn't be independent or do anything she really wanted to without risk of death of punishment. Her situation as the daughter of a traitor was precarious enough.

Half of her situation was created out of her own stupidity.
At least in the later books she learns to...well, not be smart but at least be not so dumb.

Same with Arya, just in different ways.
Same with Arya, just in different ways.
How has Arya made stupid mistakes?
In the tv show... billions. Not asking the faceless man to kill tywin and friends; even though she's always with them as they discuss fighting her brother. Challenging thoros to a sword fight and getting disarmed with a simple flick... There's loads of minor things too. She just seems like a stupid character in the series (with awful eyebrows).
In the books... She probably could have gotten to riverrun if she did a few things better. But she never came across as stupid. she's younger in the books too so even the minor things can be ignored.

This is what everyone always says but it's like we're forgetting the fact that she's 12 years old when at the start of the series.
That's no excuse
Arya is like 9 but doesn't have the same IQ as a shovel
[editline]8th August 2013[/editline]
Arya gets herself out of situations and can protect most of the friends she makes in this extremely shitty world
Sansa can't make friends and gets herself into situations and then waits for her beloved Florian to come and save her
So what if Sansa isn't like Arya? That means she deserves no sympathy at all? She's still a girl getting occasionally beaten and mentally tortured on a daily basis because she's spoiled and has no sense for the world. Don't act like she deserves it.

She was only beaten once, if I recall. And that didn't even go on for long.
She got beaten many times at court. between the time of joff becoming king and until margery got the throne (though it lessened a little when tyrion became hand) .

As I said before, it's not that Sansa is dumb, it's that the circumstances around her almost always prevent her from attempting escape or acting for herself.
Sansa can't make friends because everyone around her is either a) One of Cersei's spies or b) Too scared of being persecuted by the Lannister to talk to her.
Sansa did hold some, but certainly not all, of the fault for the situations she ended up in. Arya would've made similar mistakes in her position, if not worse ones given how rowdy and often immature she is. And as for the Florian thing, she is a young girl. Arya gets forgiven for things like that because of her youth, and so should Sansa.
Sansa has learned two lessons that Arya has yet to learn; when to shut up and when to speak carefully.
In the books arya's good at shutting up and speaking carefully. But i think if they had switched possitions...
Sansa couldn't have possibly survived in flea-bottom. If, by some magic reason she had, she wouldn't have been able to escape the city afterwards.
Arya would have escaped even if she thought she was surrounded by spies, though there's also the possibility that she Hurts or kills a guard and then gets killed/put in the black cells
Arya is learning the lesson, but I think Sansa has already learned it far better and is using it to her advantage well.
And I think it's unfair and unbalanced to compare Arya and Sansa. Their situations are just so different, and they are totally different people. They are sisters. There the similarities pretty much end.
Although by "possibility", I think you mean "certainty".
