Let's give that thing a name, it deserves it.
Suggestions?

Buddy.
I hope someone will make a mod that gives the robots the voice of the protocol droids in SS2.
more horror games need to REALLY learn how to use sound to their advantage. for example, in stalker clear sky i remember the first time i went to red forest, i was hearing these rustling leaves around me, scampering and other really freaky noises and it made me super paranoid but it was fun
then i learned it was just part of the background noise so it wasnt scary anymore. i want the noises i hear to actually mean something is making that noise
I want to pre-order this already.

I noticed, at the scene where the computer was downloading a file, presumably to unlock a door, noises started appearing down the hallway the monster was in, and they traveled pretty far, because the robot didn't appear until a bit later.
Looks like sci-fi Amnesia. I like it. Also, while Amnesia has a lot of creepy ambient noise, they managed to make silence scary.
Looks pretty cool. I like how you actually have a weapon, I find it adds more to a game when you have a safety net like a gun to fall back on because it produces some sort of hope, but then when you go to use it you find out even something as powerful as that isn't even useful in the situation you are in, adding to the dread.
Not sure if they are gonna do that though.
I haven't been this unabashedly in love with a game in the preview stage for so fucking long oh my god
I would preorder it if it was available right now..

Looks nifty...
fun fact - that gun's capabilities will change quite a lot depending on what floppy disks you start the game with. so you might get something with a radar but no offensive capability, or something with a lot of damage but immensely slow refresh rate on the scope portion - so basically, you're in with a decent chance of being more or less weaponless each time you start the game. here's a couple concepts of different upgrade configurations:

also a little more on the CAT, as it's called, from Rock Paper Shotgun's interview with Lunar Software:
We call it The Cosmonaut’s Assistant Tool. Nice generic name! In the trailer, when he’s walking up the elevators, there’s a projector that says ‘no signal’. When you find this around the base you’re able to plug in your Cosmonaut’s Assistant Tool and look at the data on there. That allows you to review everything you’ve found out up to that point. Audio logs, and all that stuff. We really want to push the idea of using the environment, and we wanted to avoid using HUD, so this was a good solution to that. If you pay attention to where the projectors are then you can review your stuff by using them. Also in the trailer he shot the robot, and that just pissed the robot off. There’s a risk/reward scenario there. There are weak spots on a robot, and that can disable them, but if you miss and risk pissing them off, well…

With regards to the shooting, there are only ever two batteries in your tool at any one time, so when you shoot both of them they tool won’t work anymore. The flashlight won’t work, connection to projectors won’t work, you need to find more.
Let's see an option in this game that changes the model of the robot to Arnold shwarzenegger and have chase you while shouting one liners

"Fuck you asshole."
Oh my god, this may be one of the few horror games that I will play. I believe that the procedural generation and permadeath will help immensely with making it scarier. These coupled together mean that you can't just save and then go about less afraid because you know you can just go back and then know what will happen next. It will also help out with replayability. Horror games are never quite as scary the second time because you know what will happen, when it happens. That jumpscare when you open the locker door in Condemned wouldn't scare someone who had already experienced it and was expecting it.
The weapon as well makes me excited. One reason I didn't like Amnesia as much as Penumbra was because I was unarmed. I knew I had no way to fight back so I never had that feeling of "my sense of security just fucking died," which is a pretty damn scary feeling. And seeing that the weapon can very well do nothing at all when you do get a chance to use it lends very well to that feeling.
Also, no music or very low-key means no scare chords which means things are even more unexpected! It also allows for sound design to take over, scaring through ambiance is the best.
Been looking forward to another "sit in your friend's living room at 3am and take turns being scared" game.

"Dis is like a space station pew pew"
It's actually the "sequel" to the average round of SS13.
:v:
I hope we get a buddy computer AI.

Please.
For the first time in a long time, I'm mega hype for a game.
When can I pre-order it?
This game is all my dreams come true.
80s sci-fi.
Horror.
DA MOON
Open world.
Jesus fucking tits I need this game now.
The game looks absolutely fantastic.
Hopefully there aren't any Moonrock Spiders...
I'm pretty sure I'm buying this, and I'd definitely get an Oculus Rift to go along with it.
randomly generated?? you kidding? you can't have good level design, attention to details and a proper story in randomly generated 3d levels (plus I doubt if their team is so small they can make levels look different every time).
never heard of a randomly generated 3d game that has actually good attention to details
I bet that cute lil robot from the beginning is gonna be an annoying as shit headcrab type enemy later on
and it's gonna display an angry anime face on it's lil CRT so it's still gonna look cute as it murders you
i bet hes the little fucker that started this shit
The water part, just as he climbs the ladder.
The fact that you just hear that kind of super quick tapping in the water approaching you is pretty much the worst nightmare scenario for me. So freaking scary
Never have I had so many scares in a trailer as this one. There's physically no way I'd be able to play this game.

Warframe... Legends of Grimrock...
Its probably randomly assembled room-tiles, and I'm okay with that.
There are not enough good and atmospheric AAA horror games out there. I wish the big time developers could look into this a lot more. In the meantime, i will play the shit out of this, this looks amazing.

it's randomly generated modular corridor and room assets that assemble to make the base different each time you play although it will always have the different sections listed on the computer at the start. each modular asset is highly detailed. did you even watch the video? this isn't receiver
Warframe... Legends of Grimrock...

Warframe wasn't about story nor atmosphere, never played the second game

don't get me wrong, i liked it, i'm just hoping for a more story-driven approach, like amnesia
i don't want this game to turn into "randomly generated spookiness every time you play!" gimmick
