Suggestions?
Mr. Struts
don't get me wrong, i liked it, i'm just hoping for a more story-driven approach, like amnesia
i don't want this game to turn into "randomly generated spookiness every time you play!" gimmick
it's not a gimmick if it actually works
a game can be randomly generated and still maintain a storyline, it'll just be less of a linear plot
I think that the 'story' will be told via the files that the player was downloading, it seems pretty similar to how (forgive me) Slender tried to tell it's story. No characters speaking to you, just finding notes and information in the environment. Telling the story with the environment rather than conventionally.

I hope the randomly generated feature is going to be similar to enemy spawns in System Shock 2. That would be really cool. I haven't seen any newer games do something like that.
From the way this game sounds, it almost feels like it is a System Shock 2/Amnesia hybrid. Even the gameplay elements, with the CAT and the floppy disks to upgrade it, and the data logs you can find all over the moonbase are shockingly similar to audio logs in SS2, and the floppy disks for the CAT sound a lot to me like Cybermodules.
The atmosphere, on the other hand, is almost exactly like Amnesia.
I have such high hopes for this.

Besides, I loved finding all those text and audio logs in System Shock 2. It opened up a whole new level of immersion for the storyline. That was actually my favorite part of the game. If SS2 didn't have audio or text logs, a large portion of the game would have felt dry and bland.

Anyone catch this little cute thing on the clipboard?
More like System Shock

They should have used Gary Numan for the soundtrack.
They should have used Garry Newman for the robot's face

90% certain this is already confirmed, so i hope you guys like reading. you'll also get a couple choices in the game which will affect which ending you get - presumably they'll be more passive choices like searching particular levels for certain files or doing extra objectives, rather than the more obvious and linear "press A to save the puppies" kind.
I don't think the robot really looks scary enough

You walk in a pitch black area, clanking sounds near you and a small whisper enters your ear "roger roger"

tbh i like the idea of finding out about the story through the environment detail and the gameplay way more interesting than amnesia's story. yeh amnesia had a kinda interesting story with a lot of depth but to tell you that story it gets you to stop playing the game every 5 minutes to listen to a monologue or read a piece of paper. i'd rather the gameplay and story were symbiotic and not 2 very different entities. discovering amnesia's story is like playing a video game and receiving pages of a novel in the post every few days

i really dont see permadeth random generation horror games turning into a 'gimmick' any time soon.... it's pretty much as niche as you can possibly get

You know what? I rewrote this post three times, trying to explain what feels wrong with this game, and I finally understood.
It's because I want cutscenes from this game. That's right, the generic AAA title cutscenes. The ones that interact with you(well, your view, actually), environment, something rams through walls, etc, etc. And hell yeah I want this game to be linear (as in system shock, not as in call of duty).
Too bad it'll never happen.

I know but isn't this essentially the same thing? You stop to read notes on the computers, same as you stopped in amnesia to read paper notes

D'awwww, it's like a really tiny Jailbot.
hence the sad face.
If you look in the gameplay video at 2:09, it says that the email was sent on February 22, 2001. This might help get a better idea for the setting of the game, it takes place at least after this date.

I mostly meant the other robot, imagine it hunting you down with that look on it's face
I like that the floppies are highlighted, it'd be interesting if there was a risk/reward to that as well (E.g. One of the floppies had a virus that disabled your CAT for a short time)
I'm going to use Canadian dollars to purchase this.
That trailer gave me the willies.

that would actually be really cool
can't describe how hype i am for this shit
I don't think I'll buy this game, because knowing me if I do, I'll play it once, get the ever loving shit scared out me, uninstall it and then never play it again :v:
