that looks much better, but you're doing that thing again where you fine render stuff before moving on. The rest of your piece can more easily suffer by that, and you haven't even chosen a color palette before you started rendering.

The composition is very claustrophobic for an outdoor scene, and that cloud following the shape of her raised hand doesn't help matters at all

Her hair looks a bit large for her head as well

yehhh you really have a thing about claustrophobic composition. not every corner of every picture has to have something of interest in it

also, now you might fix this before the end i'm sure, but because you started with so much detail on the face from the start you've got another collage-effect thing goin on where everything looks like it's from a different picture. do you have about 50 layers at this point by any chance?

Maybe you should put the Ohmu in the middle of the field, yet not too distanced from nausicaa.

I would open it wayyy up if the girl is gonna be that close, make it a panoramic wide-angle framing with her like 2/3 to the left and any other characters/details in the background on the right or something, the rest just that nice rolling meadow and blue sky

(Just a starting point I would personally try)

Hmmm...thanx for the comment, but is there any reason why I can't talk about not able to update the painting for a few months?
The machine I am using in Paris does not have Photoshop installed, and I will not get a new machine until a few months later, when I settle down.

so... even if you want the stupid update on availability, there will be none for a few months.

Just that I am waiting for news from England, I might end up working there.
Then I'll get a new laptop with photoshop installed.
I don't want to get a new power outlet if I end up in England.
I am using a netbook atm, which cannot run photoshop with tablet.
My workstation desktop is back in US, I can't bring it with me :(
