Stop fucking quoting pictures of spiders and such! it should really be under the "shock images" category..
i read that about 45% of the worlds population are scared of spiders.
Ok so you've had some prehistoric sharks and plesiosaurs, how about the largest creature ever to take to the skies?
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Quetzalcoatlus.

Cymothoa exigua
This damn parasite enters in a fish's mouth and stays on its tongue, progressively pumping its blood. Days after days, the tongue finishes to die and the parasite replaces it by having the same function to avoid his host to starve.
I don't know if I'm supposed to d'aaaw because this son of a bitch is a cute symbiotic louse or ewww because it's slowly destroying your tongue.

[QUOTE=Ninja_Duck;22250058]I came to this thread looking to learn about some creatures before I went to bed, not see a bunch of spider bites and shit. If you have something gross don't image tag it, just provide the link with a warning, damn it! I also hate the people who replied to the pictures of the disgusting spider bites.
*ugly thing*
I want to learn more about this guy.[/QUOTE]

[QUOTE=NoShogun;22250777]Is it just me or does the bottom one (thumb) look a little fake?[/QUOTE]
They both look fake to me.
The top one more, it has such straight edges and is nearly perfectly round.

they're not fake as far as I can tell. They're both part of a series, can't be bothered to look them up. Yeah they're not from a camel spider, but they are from a brown recluse.
snopes has an article on the thumb one: [url]http://www.snopes.com/photos/bugs/brownrecluse.asp[/url]

I had both a yellow and a white nudibranch appear in my tank one day. They probably rode in on some new corals. They were awesome. Very small. Not sure what happened to them.

Epic pictures. I love the deep sea with all of it's bio-luminescence.
That tongue parasite really is one of the more disturbing parasites i've heard of.

Far from being the most subtle.
The under the sea stuff is creepy, I am just waiting for some one to post something off Spore.
[QUOTE=archangel125;22203633]Camel spiders have a nasty bite.
-Nasty leg wound-
-Painful looking Brown Recluse bite wound in thumb-
Correction: THE nasty bite.[/QUOTE]
Wrong wrong wrongity wrong.
Camel Spiders don't carry poison.
I'm not sure on the first picture, but the second one is the bite of a Brown Recluse spider, also known as Violin spider.
Its poison makes the bite area go into state of Necrosis.
Did you really have to quote that shite?

Excuse me, I'll textify them.
This thread can always use some more Cuddlefish, but I think it should at least be kinda relevant, so here's a Giant Cuttlefish.

I found an article online about it. The hole was the result of surgery on the bite apparently. But it's not fake. Neither are.

How does he manage to look so calm in those pictures. I would not be if had a huge hole in my leg.
It shows him with it unwrapped sitting in a chair calmly looking at it. He must have really high pain tolerance.
I am not saying it is fake, but i do have questions.
[QUOTE=Tippmann357;22203995]Uh, if you knew anything about spiders, that is from a brown recluse spider bite.[/QUOTE]

That starfish reminds me of an episode of Courage the Cowardly dog where Muriel stops talking and that big starfish is about to demolish their house.
