What the fuck, watching that salamander move was an EXPERIENCE. Just to think that I was in Japan and I thought it was relatively devoid of scary animals. That was before I saw the huge cicada fly things they have in metropolitan areas though.
Here's a tidbit of information for all of you: [img]http://i45.tinypic.com/2hwi5pj.jpg[/img] They NEVER get this big in the wild. I'm actually very surprised that there is a picture of this guy getting picked up, because the ones that get this big are: A) Over 90 years old (the one in the photo is probably at least a century old), and B) Raised by monks. It's usually forbidden to touch them, and they are cared for TEDIOUSLY. The more you know.

This one looks a bit longer than that (Implying the guy that it's picking it up measures around 1'7 or 1'8 meters). I think I'm going with the "very old specimen" theory, because having unusually big animals that are pretty old it's a mildly normal ocurrence in nature
