man i need to rewatch the alien movies, i only saw them on tv as a kid
^just remember to turn your brain off if you decide to watch resurrection
Escape from NY 8/10
I really wanted to like Escape from New York but I just couldn't get into it.
The first two Alien movies are great. I even liked the third one, but I only ever saw the Assembly cut. Not as good as the first two, but I still really enjoyed it. The fourth one can die.
Even David Fincher doesn't like Alien 3.
Alien 3 is bad either way even with the Assembly cut
If you have to turn your brain off to watch a movie, it's not a good movie, dude.
right but some people choose to do such things like when i watched revenge of the fallen, i turned my brain off as soon as the ice cream twin guys came on screen. it honestly made the viewing not complete shit. that being said i plan to never watch it again.
If you have to turn your brain off to watch a movie, it's not a good movie, dude.
I have to disagree. If I had to keep my brain on for every single movie I ever saw, I wouldn't be able to enjoy most of them. In some cases movies I had enjoyed ended up being ruined for me because I've seen too many people over-analyze said movies and bring up plot-holes and shit I didn't think about when I was actually watching the movie. Prometheus is a good example of that. That said, brain on or off, Alien: Resurrection is a terrible movie and every copy of that movie should be collected and disposed of.
I really need to rewatch T:Salvation. Everyone seems to hate it, I just found it okay. I only saw it once in the theaters. I remember some parts being a bit silly [sp](the heart and chip mainly)[/sp] but it wasn't the worst movie I've seen by far.
Westworld 8.5/10
I also recently watched Waterworld, it's really not that bad of a movie and produced better it would probably be a big franchise, I love the lore, just the goofy villains were bad, the rest was awesome.
I also recently watched Waterworld, it's really not that bad of a movie and produced better it would probably be a big franchise, I love the lore, just the goofy villains were bad, the rest was awesome.
I think that movie's more notorious for being a box-office bomb than a terrible movie nowadays
I'd rather watch Alien 3 than watch Aliens vs Predator: Requiem again. Or play Aliens: Colonial Marines again.
I think that movie's more notorious for being a box-office bomb than a terrible movie nowadays
I just don't really know why it bombed.
I thought terminator salvation was a fun movie to watch, it's not a fantastic movie or anything and is so far diffrent than the rest of the series but still fun. I mean you guys get really up in arms about certain movies, it wasn't like satan came to earth to make this movie to punish all of mankind or something
I saw it when it came out in the cinema, even at the age I was I could tell it was fucking wank.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes of the It was pretty good. The first 10-15 minutes were utter shite, really cliché, but after that it picked up fast. They did an excellent job of personifying the main chimp character, probably thanks to Andy Serkis' performance, and it had some pretty touching moments. Beyond that though it was slightly ridiculous; I actually laughed out loud when Draco Malfoy shouted "You damn dirty ape!" and when [sp]the chimp spoke for the first time. (funnily enough both of those scenes are back to back)[/sp] It's probably just me but I couldn't help but find certain aspects of the movie laughable. Also James Franco's character becomes entirely useless half way through, though it isn't really a bad thing because he isn't the focus of the movie. I give it 7.5 damn dirty apes out of 10
Hansel and Gretel: witchhunters. I was kinda hoping for more of a comedy. It blended action, comedy and scares reasonably well... but was only after comedy. The tv didn't realy show off the action scenes too well. the people i watched it with criticised it for being Medieval and having to many unrealistic technologies (for being medieval) About 300 years off and they're fighting witches. Yep, totally valid complaint. 6/10. But i am being harsh due to the tv being unkind.
Olympus Has Fallen Decent movie. Good enough for a brainless watch with friends. Entirely predictable and cliche plot but like I said its mainly just a film that you turn your brain off and enjoy. Slightly exciting. The only thing that I didn't like about it was how weak it made America look. Not in a "MURICA" sense, but I thought it was ridiculous to show the secret service and their leadership like the way they did. For one, the secret service are probably the best known and most elite bodyguards for anything, ever. They wouldn't be using small arms fire out in the street against a fortified C-130. Also they wouldn't just rush out of cover of the White House onto the lawn to get slaughtered like they did. They have a thing called "training". Additionally on the training aspect, they likely wouldn't have taken the Korean minister into the bunker with the President because of specific protocol to prevent things from happening like they did in the movie. The plot armor on the terrorists was almost as ridiculously thick as Banning's. But like I said to enjoy the movie you need to turn off your brain.

I took me girlfriend to see kick ass 2 thinking it would be great, I was actually embarrised by a few really awful scenes
We're the Millers (2013) It had the perfect blend of comedy and romance, and the romance fitted perfectly with the dick jokes etc. but was still nice (not cheesy). The jokes were great and the actors were perfect for the job in my opinion, maybe Jennifer Aniston was a bit out of place because her stripper persona didn't really suit her but I'm nitpicking, it was amazing
"10/10 its pretty good"
"10/10 its pretty good"
Sorry lol, i didn't actually read the op, just came across the thread and thought I'd post I'll edit my post and make it better
Even David Fincher doesn't like Alien 3.
Only because he pretty much got fucked over on the project. [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline]
We're the Millers (2013) It had the perfect blend of comedy and romance, and the romance fitted perfectly with the dick jokes etc. but was still nice (not cheesy). I watched this the other day, easily a 2/5. I'll admit, it had one or two good gags, but overall, it was pretty bad. It's like Little Miss Sunshine and National Lampoon's Vacation fucked and this is their lovechild, minus the charm.
Seven 9/10 Such a brilliant thriller with a great twist, the acting is topnotch and the atmosphere is just dark. The ending scence is so great, especially with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. The chase scene is also incredible intense. I just wished that they would have expanded on some of the murders a bit more, but that's just a subjective opinion of mine. Go watch this movie.
I just wished that they would have expanded on some of the murders a bit more
Try watching The Wire. Lot of expanded crime scenes there.

Final Destination (1) - 6/10 Like the concept, but college teenagers? That's just silly. Gonna try to watch the rest though, i like gore.
The Wind That Shakes The Barley - 9/10 Thinking of watching The Devil's Double sometime soon, looks interesting.
The Wind That Shakes The Barley - 9/10 Thinking of watching The Devil's Double sometime soon, looks interesting.
I've heard it's mediocre.
