No Country For Old Men - Too satisfying/10
Both The Room and The Boondocks are fun to watch. What's the matter with you?
It's just a shame that he didn't see the ending bit. That's the best part.
I've seen plenty of clips and montages, but sitting down to watch the whole thing gets awkward when there are three long and terrible sex scenes in the first 25 minutes.
It becomes a waiting game - wait until the flower shop scene with the doggie. Wait until the "oh hai Mark" scene. And so on and so on, but the intermediate stuff is mostly just unfunny bad.
Dear Zachary - 8/10
goddammit :(
for everyone who hasnt seen it yet and is planning on seeing it anytime soon, do NOT google or read anything about this, just watch it.
Is Tangled really that good? I like animated films but it never really caught my eye. Maybe I'll give it a go.
Also I was surprised to see that it is the second most expensive film ever made ($260 million budget), 4th when adjusted for inflation.

Please don't smite this sub-forum oh mighty one.
Pacific Rim - 8/10
I loved this movie when I saw it in the theater, and I still love it now. A lot of it is cheesy, but it's a good Top Gun/Independence Day homage cheesy.

But it's better than both of those....
Children of Men
Pretty good movie. Very dark at a few times - well, most of the movie in fact. Pretty good acting overall. Being American I thought some of the British slang/namecalling/accents in a few places was more amusing to me when it should've been serious. I did pick up one little quirk from the movie. It felt like it played out like a video game for some reason, like a series of cutscenes or QTEs. There were a lot of parts that felt like they had to be artificially carried over to a new part. I don't know how to explain it well since I suck at explaining it. Still a good movie
Children of Men
Pretty good movie.
That movie is glorious and if you think it is anything less you should re-watch it until you think the same.
Naked Gun 7/10
Some funny parts, it's okay.
wha

Children of Men is one of the best films of the 21st century, fact

also I went to see Prisoners yesterday but the cinema's fire system broke down about 90 minutes in and i was raging cos we were kicked out and not allowed back in. Was really enjoying the film as well. gonna go back and hopefully make it to the end lol. From the first 2/3 of the film I give it 4/5. very good. Hugh Jackman was fantastic.
Rush - 9/10
Great movie, sucked me in. Some things were questionable about it but it doesn't take away from the experience.
Came out of the theater wanting to watch every F1 race ever.
Naked Gun 7/10

the naked gun is the shit dude. in contrast to to top secret and airplane (2 other great films by the same writers) this movie actually has a reasonable story and doesn't feel
like they came up with a story according to the jokes they made. this is the reason why i appreciate it much more than the other two.
I just watched it (Tangled).
Yeah it was really good. 8/10.
I don't really like songs in films usually but they did them well and didn't over do it. Animation was great etc. Definitely felt like a Disney movie.
How To Train Your Dragon is still my favourite animated film though.
The Baader Meinhof Complex (2008)
The Germans know how to manufacture things wonderfully and films are no exception. This was a fantastic watch because its based on a true story of the ultra left wing terrorist group 'Red Army Faction' and their activity during the late 60's and 70's. Its nicely cut with news reals from the time and gives a feel of what was going on in the industrialized world where the youth had become completely disenfranchised with the generation before.
Theres a good bunch of actors you might recognise from other modern classics such as Bruno Ganz who collectively set the bar very high. The hypothetical conversations that might have taken place reveal a lot about how anti terrorism developed and the thinking evolution of revolutionary vs state.
Its not a film for dummies and the story will either enrich your understanding of post war sociology or open a new door to modern history and how populations react to change. Whatever you get from it I'd say its worth a watch as a great film.
Boondock Saints is a fucking mess of a film and boring.

I suppose I wasn't in the mood for a comedy at the time of watching it, because I do remember it being way funnier.

you don't need to go that far, just do what the song title says.
The Green Lantern
Why is this a thing?

Because DC needs to catch up to Marvel and they can't keep just making movies on only two characters (Superman and Batman).
[editline]3rd October 2013[/editline]
Terrible film though. I expected more from the guy who directed Casino Royale.

Ryan Reynolds was a shit Hal Jordan. He acted more like Wally West than anything.

Ryan Reynolds acted like Ryan Reynolds. In every movie.
Little Big Soldier 8/10
GoodFellas - It's good, dragged on a bit, but I loved the message it gave at the end/10
Crime/Mafia/heist/etc movies have recently been able to speak what I've been thinking for months now.
No! (2012)
Gael Garcia Bernal stars in this story of the No campaign to take down the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile. Whilst the story isn't totally following how everything actually went down it does capture the changing game of spin style politics that was needed to make change. Bernal stars as an advertising expert called in to head the No campaign and he gives a great performance as always. The look of the film is done in the style of the 80's with picture ghosting and colour bleed to make the whole experience authentic so that was a nice touch.
The story could have focused quite heavily on the torture, missing persons and state murders but it simply mentions this stuff in context of the point of focus which is Bernal and his campaign. Whilst this film isn't exactly a world cinema classic, it does tell a story that was important to Chile and toys with how voters will be influenced. Gone are the days of hard fact election campaigns and here are the days of spin and propaganda. How we crave for our innocence....
Good film, good cast and nice story.
