because they're raised for it. theyre are specifically conditioned to just deal with it. yeah all of us would like to think we'd rebel against it, but that's the point. seeing these people so totally unable to do anything about it having been completely brainwashed their whole lives.
So were the people in Logans Run and The Island, your point is "the people in 'Never Let Me Go' can't think for themselves" !?

[editline]asd[/editline] hint if they did that there would be no religious people anymore
Iron Man 3 - 5/10 Awarded: Most Pissed Off Movie of the Month Congratulations - This movie was so [sp]anticlimatic[/sp] and [sp]average[/sp]. That I will not sit through it's 2 hour running time ever again. First off, the villain. The villain pissed me off so much. [sp] I loved Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin, he seemed like a interesting character. But then he comes out as this flamboyant actor just playing a terrorist. that was one of the most stupid unexpected things to happen in the movie.[/sp] I was so pissed at that. Another thing is Don Cheadle doesn't get enough screen time. [sp]Guy Pearce also is a horrible villain, I wish Ben Kingsley was just the Mandarin and not some flamboyant actor playing the Mandarin. Instead we get a actor playing a bad role as the guy who is really a Mandarin, we've all seen this cliche where a guy that got bullied by a CEO, comes back for revenge[/sp]. The film was just so anticlimatic, during some of the intense scenes. Humor was added. Why do we need humor at a time like that. Another thing I despised in the movie was the god awful child sidekick. He was just so awful. This movie is average. Not really bad but just averagely bad. It's bad and sad (sad as in disappointing sad)
Gangster Squad A pretty entertaining movie that is forgettable, I liked the cast and acting and the shootouts. Some of the scences were really intense and were accompanied with great music. But it has to many gunfights and violence for my taste, it's a pretty brainless movie without any depth. The plot itself is quite basic but I liked it, it's nice to see just some cops go vigilante and some mobsters. Although it got way of hand for my taste. Worth a watch but not really that great that you will always think back to it. Although it's not so ludicrous as many people claim. But I'm gay for Ryan Gosling.
Iron Man 3: 7/10 Mostly great action scenes and still some good wit, but the plot was weak and kind of a mess. [sp]I was really disappointed with the reveal of The Mandarin as just some actor, and I honestly think the film would have been better if the Mandarin was exactly who he appeared to be without the unnecessary "evil corporation" bullshit behind him. Also, I really liked the idea of Tony coming to grips with himself in the post-Avengers universe, but I don't think the movie focused on that as much as it could/should have.[/sp] Overall, it just felt like the film had a lot of really good ideas, but it was lacking focus. I'll definitely watch it again, but the first Iron Man is still the best in the series by a wide margin, in my opinion.
John Dies at the End: 6/10 It was so good up until they introduced Shitload and tried to incorporate everything from the novel in the last third of the film. Until that point it felt very contained and the pacing was done quite well, but when they combined the three separate stories from the novel into one finale it just kind of fell apart.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits with in, 8/10 I liked it, I haven't seen it in years but it's still good.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits with in, 8/10 I liked it, I haven't seen it in years but it's still good.
I remember being blown away by the CG in that movie.
I remember being blown away by the CG in that movie.
Yeah it's really good, I always watch the special features of movies that usually include the "making of" but i couldn't watch the one for this movie.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits with in, 8/10 I liked it, I haven't seen it in years but it's still good.
it doesn't matter how many times i hear it, but i'm always surprised to hear that Steve Buscemi was in that movie.
Final Fantasy: The Spirits with in, 8/10 I liked it, I haven't seen it in years but it's still good.
Underrated movie
Underrated movie
quite a good movie just doesn't really fit the flow of final fantasy then again, each final fantasy is a different universe, so who's to say it doesn't fit?
So were the people in Logans Run and The Island, your point is "the people in 'Never Let Me Go' can't think for themselves" !?
I'm saying all 3 are works of fiction and one of them having people react differently doesn't equate to shit. If anything Never Let Me Go is a much more accurate portreyal of brainwashed people. [editline]6th May 2013[/editline] "WELL THE PEOPLE IN THESE OTHER MOVIES QUESTIONED THEIR INDOCTRINATION!!" ok? u realise they're not all the same movie and don't affect eachother?
ok so yesterday i finally got to watch the shawshank redemption. i liked it, the story was great and i can't forget some scenes from the movie. it was a good experience
Spy Game 7-8/10. Good movie, with a pretty satisfying ending. 90% of the movie is character build up.

[editline]6th May 2013[/editline] "WELL THE PEOPLE IN THESE OTHER MOVIES QUESTIONED THEIR INDOCTRINATION!!" ok? u realise they're not all the same movie and don't affect eachother?
It's more of an example that brainwashed people don't always have to follow their "programming" and always have the possibility to act different. So when I say "The way they accepted their roles was really stupid and made the whole love-triangle artificial and a non-issue" a reply a la "But they had to they were brainwashed" is not an argument. Not a good one. You're replying to "I hate how they didn't notice their brainwashing" with "because they were brainwashed" It's a circular argument. Also please don't write like I am agrily writing in caps.
Trance 3/10 The whole fucking plot was stupid, and there's alot of unnecessary scenes. I thought Danny Boyle could had done better.
Most of the people here are film savy and have some solid film tastes. Is there any place where you people like akz, scot, rusty, jewdozer and others dwell on the internet,or is it just facepunch?I'd be interested in reading about your film recomandations many years from now on and I'm interested if any of you will pursue careers in film.

Theres some great lists for world cinema where I've found some really good stuff and some of the regulars on here share a similar taste in films. An account on IMDB will throw some good recommendations if you make sure you rate every film you watch on there. TheIMDB score out of 10 thing isn't my bag but if it spews out suggestions then I'll play their game.

As for a career, no. Iron Man 3 I really enjoyed it. It had the perfect balance of action and story, the latter being a huge step up from IM2. [sp]Guy Pearce was also a great bad guy.[/sp]
The Cave - bad/10 [sp]It's like The Descent, but with mutated bat-people instead of under evolved cave people.[/sp]
A Fish Called Wanda 9/10 It was funny as hell, it had great perfomances and I liked it a lot.
Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat - 4/10 Althought I did like this as a kid, it is a terrible movie, and overlooking it. I don't know why I liked it. But I will tell you, the reason maybe was that I loved Mike Myers.
South Park: Woodland Critter Christmas 4,5/5 stars one of the best episode of south park
idk how you completely missed how over the top and cliche [sp]the mandarin was, even from the trailers hes been spouting some of the most cliche villain lines like "do you want to die a meaningful death" or "today will be the first day of the rest of your life", and lets not forget the posters showing the mandarin wearing shades and a football shirt beneath his robes[/sp]
tbh I took [sp]the mandarin as some kind of satire/pisstake of shitty cliche terrorist villians like that. I really liked that he was just some scapegoat and not an actual villian, that shit's overdone and cheesy crap. Guy Pearce was a good villian.[/sp] Also Guy Pearce's acting the first 3-4 minutes you see him=best acting in the entire film and the majority of the marvel franchise
Cat in the Hat is quite an enjoyable film, haven't seen it in a few years though. Last night I watched Infernal Affairs, I'd seen and enjoyed The Departed, and I liked this film too. I think I might prefer this version, if only because it's not quite as long as The Departed. That's not to take anything from Scorcese' film as both are well worth watching [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] I'm just about to watch Midnight Express
the village - really cool movie. the soundtrack is great, and the story itself and the way it develops is also really great.
Rise of the Guardians any good?
Rise of the Guardians any good?
I've heard good things but I haven't seen it.
