it's decent, brilliantly shot for an airport film.
But the characters are terrible and unrealistic.

it's not an absurdist film so I don't know why you feel they're "unreal". It's a standard flick for the family.
I suppose Lars and the Real Girl is crap because it has "unrelatable" characters too eh? Not being funny, but it's fairly shallow to think a film is terrible just because you have hatred for people.
It shouldn't matter if a character is likable or not, they just have to be compelling.

That's pointless since the people I like tend to compel me. That being said, The Terminal isn't ground-breaking in story, but for a set built film, it's magnificent.
Charlie Day was the best part of Pacific Rim.
He had a great chemistry with Burn Gorman and they were great as a comic relief. Without them Pacific Rim would be much worse.
Just saw Captain Phillips
10/10
one of the best movies I've watched. Tom Hanks did a great job as usual.
[B]Re-Animator

It's a damn fun movie to watch with friends if you're looking for a good gory film. Was it good? Eh... Not really. It was dumb in a good way, but it was more dumb in a bad way. But it was fun and one part left me laughing uncontrollably.

I agree.
I've decided to give a bunch of older movies a try. Starting all the way back at the silent era even, with The Phantom of the Opera from 1925. Never seen this movie before, but I've seen pictures of that damn unmasking scene ever so many times and it's been stuck in my mind. I wasn't expecting much of it, but holy hell I enjoyed it ever so much, even with the limitations of the time. In fact, I think the limitations actually heightened my enjoyment of the movie. A straight story, but with a sense of enigma to it. I am quite glad I've finally seen this for the first time.
I don't know how to rate this exactly, but I would have to give it at least an 8/10. Great.

So clever.

Try out something from the great DW Griffith like Birth of a nation.
Metropolis is a pretty great silent film.
Try out The Passion of Joan of Arc, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin films
Try out The Passion of Joan of Arc
this film kills me
I was wanting to watch The Last Laugh next, that's another that has always intrigued me after seeing one or two little tid bits. I appreciate the suggestions though, guys. I'll definitely give those a watch.

The Thin Man (1934) is pretty good.
'The Gold Rush' and 'The Circus' are probably my favorite silent films but 'Metropolis', 'Phantom of the Opera' and 'The Passion of Joan of Arc' are great too.
My favorite silent film has to be The General. So much fun.

mel brooks made a silent film
it's called "silent movie"
also, a rewatch of pacific rim
still an 8/10, at first i thought it was just the fanboy in me wanting to watch giant robots fuck up giant monsters but the rest of the movie holds up pretty well for B cinema.
Birdemic - Shock and Terror: Perfectly paced, gripping action-comedy hybrid. 8.5/10
Birdemic 2: Tried too hard 2.5/10
The Way Way Back
8/10 Really liked it. Charmingly natural and off-beat without slipping into pretentiousness.

I'm not sure if you're serious, but I don't think Birdemic was trying to be a comedy. Saying that would be like saying The Room was supposed to be a comedy, too.
If anyone is a fan of Pacific Rim, I suggest they watch Robot Jox. Don't trust the reviews, it's cheesy goodness
Might have to watch "Hunger" to see more of what this Steve McQueen guy is all about.
Hunger is similar in the way things move but quite different aesthetically imo. Arguably more depressive.
I definitely have to see both films again.
One flew over the Cuckoos Nest

Nurse Ratched
Possibly my most hated movie character. What a gigantic bitch. Great acting from Louise Fletcher though.

I was hoping so much that McMurphy would end up killing her
[sp]but then again, that attempt is what got him lobotomized[/sp]

Or make her not work in anything related to mental health ever ever ever again. I was way too optimistic though lol.
[sp]not lol, poor McMurphy and Billy :([/sp]
