Just watched Gravity. Incredibly well done movie. It did so many things right. Such an amazing cinematic experience. Both Bullock and Clooney were great. Almost regretted picking the 3D version after seeing the "The Hobbit" trailed that played just before the movie, the amount of 3D was ridiculous and too distracting. But in Gravity it absolutely was perfect.
8+/10!!!11!
Trick R Treat- 9.5/10
GREAT Halloween movie. Very reminiscent of Creepshow and The Twilight Zone. All four of the stories in the movie (that all connect to each other by the way) are engaging, horrifying and over the top. Lots of dark humor here too.
I wouldn't mind a sequel to this movie and from what I can understand, it's got quite a cult following. I fucking loved it and I'd recommend it to any fan of the horror genre.
The movie's Wikipedia page seems to claim that a sequel is being made so you're in luck.
Another movie night.
Sharknado 1/10
Absolute tripe in every way. There's a few scenes that'll get a giggle out of you but only then it's still a giggle. The effects are a whole new level of atrocious, the acting, the writing, the whole thing is a whole new level of bad, rotten and terrible. Worth a watch but only once.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil 8/10
Still one of my favorite movies of all time, not much I can say. Tyler Labine makes a very lovable Dale, Jesse Moss clearly had WAY too much fun with his role as Chad, the entire cast is a joy to watch. Funny as hell, definitely able to recommend this one.
rewatched pacific rim. seemed, for some reason, even cheesier, and it felt shorter than i remembered it. still, really good movie. just the fact that i wanted to watch it again (which i rarely do with most movies) showed me that. again, could have better acting and more character development, especially in the second half where it was mostly fights and stuff, but it was great anyway and i enjoyed it.

The action and CGI was amazing but I couldn't tell you a single characters name
Well, there were those guys from Sons of Anarchy, that hot asian chick, the captain from Prometheus and Mike from Homeland
And Charlie Day.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs - 8/10
Holy fuck this movie was funny.
The Lone Ranger - 7/10
I found nothing wrong with it other than it being more about Johnny Depp being Tonto (advertisement and movie-wise), and the movie pacing. Otherwise the movie was good
Speaking of Bruckheimer, I hope they bring back Ian McShane in the next PotC. His villainous anti-heroine Blackbeard was one of the better PotC villains
Has anyone seen Ender's Game?
Jesus christ that avatar
Captain Phillips
Pretty damn good. Quite intense, probably Tom Hanks' best movie I've seen since Castaway.
I'd probably give it an 8 of 10.

I haven't seen Captain Philips yet, but he was pretty darn good in Cloud Atlas.

From the trailer, it looks like the Somalian pirate is darn good at acting.
Also, Thor 2, 7/10. While it was enjoyable, its not as exciting as the other Marvel movies.
Plus, [sp]where the hell is SHIELD anyway?[/sp]

I just saw it today and my verdict is: skippable. It's not bad, the kids' acting is bearable, the CGI is nice but nowadays that didn't surprise me. Part of the ending was interesting but all in all I would say it's a smart movie for kids, for me some scenes needed more impact. Gravity seem to be the better space movie.

How is it compared to the book though?
As for me, I just finished watching Fantastic Planet.

Great little movie with lovely, bizarre visuals. The animation is very good and colorful, never a dull scene in this one. I think it could have benefited from maybe an extra 10 minutes or so at the end. The end felt a bit rushed. Overall, watch the trailer, and if it looks cool to you, watch it. It's only like 70 minutes long. Really good lesser-known sci-fi movie.
The general consensus I've seen on Ender's Game is mainly that it's average. It's no the Last Airbender, but the novel is definitely superior. The acting seems to be decent, the CGI does it's job.
Apparently it's fairly loyal to the book's plot, but it's more the Watchmen film type of loyal, mostly made for those who have already read through the book.
Hellraiser 8/10.
Now here's a movie that's both awesome and intensely disturbing at the same time. Most people are familiar with the Hellraiser series and Pinhead but the first film is less about the Cenobites and more about Frank Cotton. Frank bought this puzzle box and was taken to hell by the Cenobites. Some blood is spilled, he comes back as a mess of bones and muscles, he needs more blood to be fully restored which is given to him by way of his brother's wife luring men to her home and murdering them for him. In fact, the Cenobites don't make their proper entrance until the last 25 minutes of the film or so. That said, when they do appear, you know something terrible is going to happen.
The CGI is bog-standard for the time, it's the practical effects that make this movie nightmarish. From the Cenobites to the weird creature appearing towards the end to Frank as a monster. Dear God, these are some of the best, most disgusting practical effects I've seen in a while. If there's not one part of your body screaming in agony, you might want to get yourself checked.
If you're in the mood and mindset for something disturbing, something gory, a true blue horror movie, watch it.
Nightmare Before Christmas - 5/10
Saw this ages ago but couldn't remember if I liked it or not so I gave it another chance.
I really disliked most of the songs apart from "This is Halloween" and "What's this?". It looks good and is an interesting story I guess, but I think the fact that it's a musical ruins it.
I can see disliking it due to the fanbase/tim burton, but disliking it because it's a musical isn't too cool.

that being said, fuck nightmare before christmas.

I'm not disliking it because it's a musical, some of my favourite films are musicals. It's just that I hated most of the songs and think it would've been better without them.

You bring shame to Peaks fans everywhere.
You bring shame to Peaks fans everywhere.
why
Because apparently if you're in a certain fanbase that means you also have to like everything else that one member of said fanbase likes
Saw "Last vegas" in theaters today.
Pretty much the hangover, but with old men and morgan freeman. 4/10
A lot of people have different takes on the ending as well, especially since there was a concept they were going to add about how this wasn't the first time that Joel and Clem had each other erased, and I find that very interesting due to the last shot of the movie. It's just the two of them running on a beach for about 10 seconds, but then the shot repeats itself a couple of times. I think this might be a throwback to that idea. I like that even though they might still fight and break up numerous times, they'll always come back to find each other somehow, just like how the movie ends anyway. In a sense, they're together forever.
I dunno, didn't Kaufman say that in the published shooting script, it was supposed to end at the scene in the hallway and [sp]their memories being erased over and over again, just to meet each other again was in the earlier drafts?[/sp]
I personally feel that idea to be damn depressing, especially if you remember the whole:
Joel: It would be different if we could just give it another go-around.
Clementine: Remember me. Try your best. Maybe, we can.
Which makes it seem they fail to overcome their relationship problems forever. IMO the hallway scene is all about taking another chance despite knowing you could very likely fail and fall apart. Despite what Clem says about the very likely future of their relationship, Joel just says "Okay" and she does too.
Maybe I'm hopelessly romantic but I like to think that, maybe, just maybe, they'll work out together V:v:V.
EDIT: Then again, the ending is supposed to be a bit ambiguous anyway.

This guy gets it.
I watched Gravity, expecting myself to be disappointed because I always have way too high expectations, but wow, that was extremely good. George Clooney and Sandra Bollocks were great in it, can't really say anything bad about the movie. I'm pretty sure it was as scientifically accurate as possible while still being entertaining too. Also that long-shot in the intro, hnng.
My friend didn't like it for some reason, but he thinks Ryse will be a good game so all of his opinions are invalid.
I really need to see Children of Men now.

If you haven't seen it then yes, yes you do.
The Last Airbender
My friend said we should watch it because it would be funny.
