yes. i did not enjoy the 3d. it's a finicky technology that at best doesn't ruin the experience and never enhances it. 3d needs to be killed. no 3d glasses exist that arent permanently scratched and fogged.
Yeah it sucks that you can only see the IMAX version in 3D. I wish they would stop converting movies from 2D to 3D, it rarely looks good. [editline]8th May 2013[/editline]
once the 3d glasses are smudged, your film is ruined, money is wasted
I bought a pair of glasses and keep them at home.
yeah I have 3 "real 3d" glasses.. look like they cost 5p to make, cost me a couple of quid..
I destroyed the last pair of 3D glasses I had and swore never to watch a 3D movie again. That was after having a head-ache by watching the Avengers. No hate at all towards the movie, I just find 3D to be terrible. It makes action scenes confusing, blurred out and at the end of the day it's more of a gimmick than an actual improvement of the experience.
most of the reason why i go to the cinema is for the amazing resolution, but 3d gargles that all up and ruins it
once the 3d glasses are smudged, your film is ruined, money is wasted
try already wearing glasses, with shitty, fogged up, and scratched 3d glasses over them
Upstream Color - I have no idea/10 [editline]8th May 2013[/editline] It was a bit overwhelming actually.
Aliens 8/10 - This movie has great action scenes with cheesy James Cameron dialog. What more could you want?
Pitch Black 8.5/10 Seriously one of the best Sci-Fi worlds I know. So happy they are doing a third one.
8/10 Overall, I thought this movie worked well. It did a very good job of portraying the transition from law-abiding citizen to vicious, amoral thug without getting anvilicious. The overall tone is comedic in a very, very dark way as the main characters bumble around, digging their graves ever deeper with every action, getting sloppier and sloppier as time goes by and leaving a plethora of evidence behind as they struggle with their mounting guilt. I was a little weirded out by the fact that they were operating out of a sex shop though, so if you plan on watching, be warned. Aside from that, good movie.
I posted quite a while ago about my thoughts on the first season of Twin Peaks and finished watching season two a couple of days ago so: Twin Peaks, Season 2 is personally a 9/10. It would have been a perfect score if [sp]the show didn't take a 2 or 3 episode gap after the resolution of Laura's murder to start the story revolving around Windom Earle and the more supernatural aspects of the forests surrounding Twin Peaks (Black and White Lodges etc.) Other than that main reason, there are one or two little niggles that I didn't like so much. Like the sudden end to the Cooper/Audrey relationship. I understand as to why it was stopped, I looked it up as to why, but was really roughly cut off within an episode and forgotten. This was made up for a lot by the end of the season though. Another problem I noticed is what happened to Sarah Palmer? She was also forgotten shortly after Laura's killer was revealed. I apologize if I missed something but she sort of tailed off.[/sp] [sp]Anyway, I'll stop complaining as I still loved this season a bunch (obviously, considering the rating), the final stretch of the first episode of this season to the seventh episode where Laura Palmer's killer was revealed was great. The suspense carried on from the first season and I have no issues whatsoever. Nothing short of fantastic. Same with the actual reveal itself in the seventh episode, Ray Wise's performance is peerless and you can really sympathize with his character. I was disappointed to see his character leave because I loved his character ever so much. After the brief interval when it slowly transitioned into the "Windom Earle" storyline, it did pick up and made up for all of my problems. I really enjoyed the build-up to the reveal of the Black Lodge after Earle finally finds it to be a map with the help from Leo, and the season finale was epic. Really. Revisiting "The Red Room" was amazing and I loved the especially surreal qualities showcased here. It must have taken forever to correctly improvise and shoot. But of course, the most likely forever unanswered cliffhanger.[/sp] [sp]The Cooper doppelganger storyline could have been great, if the show had been renewed for a third season. Very disappointing. The same thing happened to another show I really liked, My Name is Earl, also being cancelled after an immense cliffhanger. I've read all the rumors regarding a third season and all of it is nothing more than sheer speculation, including what I have to say right now; in which The Man from Another Place says "when you see me again, it won't be me." and of course when the spirit of Laura Palmer also says "I'll see you again in 25 years." This is especially eerie because the show's 25th anniversary is up and coming. But it was obviously coincidental and most likely means nothing, it just would be an awesome time for the show's return. That's all.[/sp] On a final note, I really do apologies for the large amounts of text I've written. I just had a lot of relatively in-depth thoughts that I have about Twin Peaks. I guess it demonstrates how much I love this show.
are ya gonna watch the movie?
I was planning on doing so. I'm quite interested in to the back story and previous murders before Laura's.
Jurassic Park 3D's conversion was good. It wasn't gimmicky unlike other films
Yeah when old movies are re-released in 3D they tend to put a lot more effort into it. For example, with Titanic they basically 3D modelled the entire movie.
The Raid Redemption - 7/10 Watched it with my dad. He's getting old though, and he didn't really like the parts that showed excessive violence/blood (so like 80% of the movie).
Reservoir Dogs- 3/10 I found it hard to really get into the storyline- it seemed boring to me. As a result of this, my friends are never inviting me to another movie night.
Mystic River - 9/10 Everytime someone says CAH instead of car, my love for this movie increases.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - 8.5/10. Some corny moments, but for the most part it was really fun and beat out '09 Trek easily.
As a result of this, my friends are never inviting me to another movie night.
good [editline]a[/editline] iron man 3 no opinion/10 idk it was like eating cinematic cheeze whip, i just didnt give a fuck
I thought reservoir dogs was dull too
It sure was. Not necisarly a bad movie but just very blah imo. Just watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World last night. 8/10 Really good movie pretty impressed. Good mix of comedy, action, and randomness I enjoyed it. Honestly, don't personally know a lot of people that's seen the movie.
