28 Days Later - 10/10 Holy fuck is this movie brilliant. It's got terrifying infected (this film invented the "runner"), really deep psychological messaging, and great acting from a great cast. Love the music too. The London walkthrough, where John desperately calls out for people in an empty city backed by music from Godspeed You Black Emperor, is in my opinion one of the most powerful, well-done scenes in cinema history.
Kairo - Several Numbers Out Of Multiple Cool movie, the internet ghosts were pretty scary and such, but that guy was stupid going in the place alone and going through the door even though he knows he's not supposed to; also the plane crashsplosion seemed unnecessary, poor effects on it too. I liked the butoh dance sequence. Pontypool - 62/74 Interesting take on zombies, and convincing argument against the English language. eXistenZ - 7.9/10 Bizzare and thought-provoking(what with the whole "is this game or is it a real" dealie). So I saw some of this movie on TV once and now I saw the whole thing, I like it but also I slightly don't, not really sure what is wrong with it but I know it could have been better. (what kinda shitty assassin gives away their whole assassination plot like that anyways)
Battleship 2/10 The effects were okay, but that's it. They even fucked up the credits song. Fortunate Son, seriously? One of the most famous anti-war songs after 2 hours of military porn. I literally burst out laughing.
Olympus Has Fallen 9/10 I thought it was a pretty good movie, but at some parts you could almost tell what was going to happen next.
Olympus Has Fallen 9/10 I thought it was a pretty good movie, but at some parts you could almost tell what was going to happen next.
Because it was mostly a ripoff of Die Hard.
Looper felt like they unintentionally made the pacing weird for the sake of the movie's style, which was what bothered me the most throughout the film. its a little less noticeable later on though, and i really liked it. i feel like they also did really well in not making it come off as pretentious, which didn't happen partially due to how believable and *relatively* down-to-earth it was. so, really good, stylistic movie. definitely not the best thing ever but i enjoyed it.

We live over a decade into the 21st century, yes, but many cars on the road are from the 90s and earlier. So of course the near-future won't be all flying cars and holographic interfaces. Heck, the farm scenes are pretty much modern-day.

That quick montage of Joe getting older was my favourite part. You can argue about the story, silly make-up and Bruce Willis, but nonetheless it was a good film.
Ju-On 2: Curse Of The Bloody Butt-Stain - 7.3/11 The ghost of the phantom shitter returns in this movie, a staple of japanese pro-choice cinema. Not too scary*, I guess it is kind of pretty OK-ish. Previous was better. *but it was a daytime and i was surrounded with people so yeah
Currently watching The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai. I'm giving it a 'WhatthehellamIwatching?'/5. Seriously, it seems like the story was written by a kid. I really cannot explain the plot. That doesn't mean I'm not enjoying it.
Stalker (that Russian one from 1979) I'm not to sure about this one, it had some great scenes but really suffered from pacing issues that extended scenes unnecessarily (I know it was an artistic decision but the music used wasn't particularly strong enough to support such a style) or that cut rapidly between scenes out of sync with the rest of it. Fascinating movie otherwise, good story to boot. 7/10
The Comedy This is not a comedy/10
From what I've seen of it, it looks awesome, but very grim. I don't know much about it, though. All I've heard is praise.
It's on Netflix if you have that and want to watch it.
Olympus Has Fallen 9/10 I thought it was a pretty good movie, but at some parts you could almost tell what was going to happen next.
This is just one of those action movies I wasn't able to suspend my disbelief in. Maybe it was because I wasn't in a very good mood when I watched it, because I usually enjoy mindless action movies, but I just didn't enjoy it. [sp]A bunch of specially-trained commandos take down an army of Secret Service agents like it's nothing. And the washed up Gerard Butler (who is now a private contractor) is able to take all of them down. One man did what an army of Secret Service agents could not. Oh, and he saved the president. And killed the bad guy. And saved the world. Yay.[/sp] Eh, maybe I might like it better if I give it another watch with some friends, but until then, fuck that movie.

Moneyball has fat Jonah Hill 10/10
Batman: The Movie - 3/4 [t]http://smhttp.14409.nexcesscdn.net/806D5E/wordpress-L/images/Batman-the-Movie-Poster.jpg[/t] Incredibly campy yet never farcical, Batman is funny and fun for all ages. Adam West is fantastic as Batman, delivering his every line with an impassioned righteousness. The supporting cast is great as well ('60s Catwoman is still the hottest Catwoman). This was a good time. I plan to rewatch Man of Steel soon and I suspect that will be quite the contrast.
Julie Newmar was best 60s Catwoman. Still weird to know Yzma from Emperor's Groove (Eartha Kitt) was once Catwoman.
Bruce Almighty (2003) It's more or less the funniest movie I have seen so far,Jim Carrey does another great role, Morgan Freeman as always, good as god. What to say,i laughed until i shat my pants. Great movie 9.50/10 (Gotta see Pain and Gain tonight)

Despicable Me 2 - VIVA EL MEXICO FEAT PITBULL AND NICKI MINAJ/10
Naked Lunch again 9.5/10 One of my favourites. A bizarre almost-biography of William S Burroughs where the events of his life are integrated with his writing. Contains some of the strangest and most memorable imagery I've ever seen on film. Plus it stars fucking Robocop.
28 Days Later - 10/10 (this film invented the "runner")
1985
Bruce Almighty is a lot of fun. One of my favorite Carrey movies. It's just such an original concept that you could do so much with.
I remember watching this film when I was younger shortly after release and it was hilarious. But what really surprised me, was the fact that I rewatched it recently and except few cringe-worthy scenes it was still funny.

Not real zombies, they talk. Also that was more along the lines of jogging.
1985
The difference is that people actually saw 28 Days Later.
The difference is that people actually saw 28 Days Later.

The Return of the Living Dead was a critical and a moderate box office success. It currently holds an 90% approval rating on the review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes,[3] and grossed $14,237,000 domestically on an estimated budget of $4,000,000.[4] It was also nominated for four Saturn Awards, including Best Horror Film, Best Actor for James Karen, Best Director and Best Make-up, by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films
Sounds more like you have a tiny reference pool. Besides, people must have seen it because it's also the movie where the whole 'zombies eat brains' cliche originated. It was written and directed by Dan O' Bannon, the man who wrote Alien.
Not real zombies, they talk. Also that was more along the lines of jogging.
I wasn't aware a reanimated corpse that ate people had to be mute. Also they sprint and tackle people at one point but I couldn't find the scene. And if we're nitpicking like that, then 28 Days Later technically aren't 'real' zombies either.
I have not seen a single Jim Carrey movie. How should I rectify this?
