Ben X - 9.5/10 Was posted in the Videos section, and overall was a great movie.
At first I was a little underwhelmed when I realized that the trailers marketed that film horribly. Then I was incredibly pleased when I found that the film itself was loads better than what the trailers promised.
I think the last words from Inglorious Basterds are true in context to Tarantino - it's his best film, and with Jackie Brown it's the least Tarantinoesque. I loved it, it was a great love letter to war films, it had over the top moments and those long dialogue scenes. I remember I was so shocked when [sp]Hitler, Goebbels and Goering were shot[/sp] because I've never expected it to present alternate history. For some people it could be the main problem with that film but I really enjoyed it. I like his previous films but when you look at it objectively - Inglourious Basterds is almost in every regard a better film. Specially in acting, but not only because of Waltz and Pitt. It's the secondary roles that made this film - Laurent, Fassbender, Myers, Brühl, Diehl and Ménochet. Actually I think my main grip with Django was the fact, that it tried to hard sometimes. With referencing other films, with throwing into our faces how brutal slavery was, and even with maginificent Christoph Waltz, instead of being a great film on its own like Basterds.

Django was just on a smaller scale. If anything, we should have had Django before Inglorious.
i thought django was underwhelming
Agreed. Basterds really should have been Tarantino's last film, but I'm glad we at least got it now. EDIT You Ninja'ing BITCH!
I think I like djanjo more than bastards but it's really, really close. I have equal love for western movie and war movies so it's a hard decision.
X-MEN. I give it a 9/10 It had some cheesy moments, but overall it was a great movie to have been made 13 years ago.
Jurassic Park 7/10 I honestly can't see why it got so much praise even though I enjoyed it.
Jurassic Park 7/10 I honestly can't see why it got so much praise even though I enjoyed it.
Because of how they made the dinosaurs and just the visuals were phenomenal for 1993 as well as having a great story line. l Also, the theme song. l V
also the theme song you fuck
Watching it again when I'm older makes me see all the holes, but for what it is, it's pretty damn good.
Jurassic park is 10/10 movie and will accept no less.
Twelve Monkeys - 10/10 It's fucking perfect. Shame i haven't heard of it earlier. Any other movies like this one?
Micheal Clayton. err..I didn't know what was going on half the time so I can't even rate it.
Inception 10/10 It looks awesome in blu ray and the production values for this film show, nothing seems cheap. It's like a spiritual successor to the first Matrix film. Olympus Has Fallen 5/10 It's a typical terrorist plot to destroy the world and lone guy saves the day film. Gerard Butler is the best part of the film. Some slick action scenes. Some of the computer generated effects look like video game quality.
The Princess Bride, 9/10 masterpiece and a classic.

I thought Olympus Has Fallen was great, old school action movie. It was a better Die Hard movie than that crap new Die Hard movie.
I agree with the Basterds comments, but I though Django was perfectly done.
I'm not saying it was bad, but I think it turned out that way because too much thing were cut. Not only from filmed material, but from what was in the script (due to actors dropping out roles, and due to Harvey Weinstein's whining). If Tarantino could release a 5 hrs Director's Cut like the rumours said, it could make all the problems disappear - there would be equal screen time for developing all characters, for reference, and for more long dialogues.
Micheal Clayton. err..I didn't know what was going on half the time so I can't even rate it.
crazy man knew it all, but then [sp]he got beat[/sp], clooney wanted to help the brother out but he was then [sp]chased down[/sp] but then he gained some skill by creating a suave [sp]blackmail[/sp] but in the end he realises life ain't fulfilling when you're [sp]ruining lives[/sp]. Great film m8
American Gangster Director's Cut 5/5 One of my favorite Denzel roles. Good gangster movie.
Blade Runner 10/10 The atmosphere is incredible. Just want to make sure I understood the ending correctly, [sp] Deckard is actually a replica right?[/sp]
Blade Runner 10/10 The atmosphere is incredible. Just want to make sure I understood the ending correctly, [sp] Deckard is actually a replica right?[/sp]
You watched the Final Cut right? If not go back immediately and rewatch it. [sp]It's heavily implied that Deckard is a replicant of Gaff but we're not given a definite answer. Basically though, yes. (its the conclusion that you're supposed to come to). Basically Gaff is leaving the origami pieces around for Deckard and the unicorn is something that only Deckard would recognize, because it came only from Gaff's mind, as in its one his personal thoughts. [/sp]

Daredevil, I remembered not liking it when I was young, but I didn't like superhero stuff then so I decided to re watch it. Even worse now, like 2.5/10
there's no right answer, mate.. but ridley scott said he intended that he is
Yeah that's true. Still I think I prefer if he wasn't though since to me, it downplays the significance of the final confrontation between Roy Batty and Deckard which I think is also what Rutger Hauer said.
The scene in the basemen bar in glorious basterds is imo the best thing Tarantino has ever done. It's incredible and one if my favourite scenes ever. I too think basterds is his best film. watched the counselor today and thought it was very good. But it was my friends birthday as well so im currently not up for writing a review cos I'm half drunk at 4am but Ill write one tomorrow. Think it'll be a pretty long one, there's quite a lot to it
I just finished watching Inglorious Basterds after this thread without knowing anything about it other than there's Nazis and Jews. Jesus Christ.
pretty sure he didn't mean "Jesus Christ it was terrible" or "Jesus Christ it was just okay" could be wrong though
Jesus Christ it was good/10
