It was like Sin City, The Raid and District 9 had a baby. It far surpassed my expectations.
Jaws: The Revenge - 1/10
How can a shark want revenge? It makes no fucking since. This movie is so goddamn fucking horrible and terrible, it's like watching I Spit on Your Grave (another horrible movie) but with the shark as the girl and Lorraine Gary as the rapist. Except, the girl is blown magically by a ship's bow, and the rapists win in a very happy ending. Listen, do not see this movie. Watch Jaws II or if you can survive it, Jaws III. BUT NOT THIS. NEVER THIS
pros:
some of the music
movie poster
cons:
everything else
movie poster if you want to know why I liked it

Is Michael Caine not considered a pro?
dead space: aftermath
neat tie-in to the franchise, sets up dead space 2 quite well.
Leon: The Professional
Absolutely beautiful movie, exciting but also tense. Would recommend to anyone.

Just watched episode 3 of the first series of Twin Peaks
what in the fuck just happened
I just watched Jaws 2. It wasn't as shitty as Jaws 4 or average like Jaws 3.
7/10
Rewatched one of my all time favourites tonight.
Scarface
I just love this friggin' movie. What I love about this movie that it has some really great scenes and all the small details. Everytime I rewatch this movie I find something new that makes me more in love with this movie. And the opening always gives me the feels. Scarface is just so great set, fitting music and all. It's really great seeing Tony build his empire starting with his friend Manny at the diner, which is one of my favorite scenes, ending in his great mansion with a shit load of coke. And then he slowly starts making the same mistakes like everybody else in his past that leads him to his inevitable doom. And to top it all off Al Pacino does a very good and memorable performance, some could find it cartoonish and a bit goofy, but for me it's just perfect.

Just watch the opening credits, goddamn!

sadly, that was the first jaws movie i saw and even then i knew it was subpar at best
only one worth watching is the first.

Oh god I misread you and I thought you were calling the first one subpar. I was getting angry
Just watched episode 3 of the first series of Twin Peaks

yeah you're gonna be saying that a lot
but it all adds up in the end kinda sorta not really a little maybe
Twin Peaks is a great series but it lacks some polish and at times the series does not know what it wants to be. At times it's this super intense thriller with Cooper finding new clues, but at times it's a very cheesy soap opera, especially during the second season. The focus of the series is totally lost.
Nevertheless it's definitly worth a watch, the characters were so amazing, a shame that the series ended so abruptly without much closure.

I've seen it many times, it never seems worse to me besides the annoying teenagers.
Depends on which version you're talking about. The original Red Dawn I liked for it's cheesy quality, but the newer version just has... Josh Peck.
Newer version.
Didn't even realise that it was Josh Peck till 5 mins in. Last time I had seen him was Drake and Josh.
Saw Gatsby last night with my friends for our AP English field trip.
Having read the book I thought it was a mostly accurate rendition, but it was tweaked a little.
Only bad part. the music.
It went from Rhapsody in Blue, a classic 20's hit, into Jayz and Beyonse in a 20's dance parlor. That's what I call "a fall from grace".
Otherwise it's just how I imagined the book in my mind with some superb acting.
9/10
The Lost World: Jurassic Park - 8/10
Underrated sequel to one of the greatest adventures of all time. The acting is somewhat subpar and the dialogue is bad. But the film is way more satisfying than Jurassic Park III
Jaws: The Revenge -10/10. Best movie I've ever seen in my entire life.
Anyone who hates it needs to enjoy the movie for what it is.
The Great Gatsby 7/10
There were several glaring things about that movie that were wrong.... To those who has seen it, you know what I'm talking about.
[sp]unfitting music, zooming/editing/panning/fucking camera fuckery in the first half, and scenery that looked fake as fuck (refer to speed racer, holy shit did this movie kinda look like that too much)[/sp]

Something that people wont care about but whatever
[sp]The fashion and cars were all wrong. Most of them were late 20s to 30s[/sp]
Evil Dead (remake) - 8/10
I liked it. It was funny, there was always something going on without any long boring pauses in between the scares, and it was scary as hell
That's good to hear, I'm going to a car cinema soon with my girlfriend and Evil Dead was on our list, we saw most of the available movies. Especially if it has some decent scares.
okay so i just finished up the invention of lying with ricky gervais
it was pretty good, but it kind of got old after a while. any of you guys seen it?
Yea, I saw it some time ago. It's pretty good IMO.
Django Unchained
Left it quite a while.
All I can say is Tarantino really knows how to create a film that exploits, thrills, chills and intrigues. And he does it with such flamboyance and speed that it's one ridiculous, yet beautiful scene after another.
Thing is, Tarantino's films have never "disturbed" me. They're entirely for a good ride through mayhem, yes there were surprises in Dicaprio's character; I didn't expect him to [sp]saw through a skull at a dinner table[/sp] or [sp]hand a hammer to his fighter to finish him off[/sp]. These surprises however, are all what Tarantino is about.
Is it personally going to go down in my favourite films though, I don't know. There rarely were Tarantino characters who gave me awe in their presence on screen. Not to say that when people create a [sp]bloody mess[/sp] all over the place, that it's not awe-worthy, but still.
For what it is, definitely among his best.
Vengeance is Mine (復讐するは我にあり)
Now here is a fucking disturbing film... Makes your blood boil by what people do here. Literally bends normal social conduct and throws it away.
Guy is sentenced to death, yet acts so damn cool about it that he thinks it's all a good laugh. Then the film goes through exactly what got him there, and it's messed up beyond all comprehension.
Absolutely great film, one of the very best films of its kind for me. It's enriched with this maniac who has no show of remorse, honestly it's one of the coldest characters I've seen. Great performance.
Some people say that there is always something that drives people to do this, you'll be lost with this one, there's literally nothing; no cause, no joy, no thrill in what he does. It's that twisted in that while you're watching, you almost adapt to his normality and that's disturbing. Honestly, the ending really did seem appropriate here, now thinking about it, it could have ended no other way.

oh my god i just can't this movie is so fucking bad that it's fantastic. the plotholes, shitty jokes, and awful acting are somehow making the movie better and better

i mean, he turns over to comfort the girl he's driving with the INSTANT the car collides with a pole
[editline]12th May 2013[/editline]
okay, my buddy and i just finished up watching it. what's my synopsis?
it's basically the most fun i've ever had watching a movie in a looooong time. to be honest, the film is absolute fucking garbage, but it's so goddamn hilarious because of that. if you haven't seen it, you NEED to see it. that shit's on netflix, so let off some steam and watch it.

I Love You, Man 6/10
A bunch of funny jokes, the writing is smart in some parts... but overall it's a predictable cheese bag that doesn't stand out from the rest of adult/comedy dramas that constantly get released. I like how it's all about male friendship, which makes it quite original, but everything feels so fake and forced that it's almost impossible to get emotionally involved or actually care about how things will work out in the end. The two main characters had good chemistry, probably the only reason I would ever recommend it.
how ironic
i cant remember if i already rated memento or not
I'd probably give it a 7.5 or so. I really enjoyed it, but I can acknowledge that it was just "good" and not much more.
I had a fairly good time watching it, yeah, but I hate how it follows a formula so rigidly. Just spoils the whole immersion factor, I think. The ending was cheap too.
If you've seen it before, you'd remember.
I know when ive seen it, i just cant remember if i posted it here or not
well let me just go ahead and review it
memento - 8.5/10
it feels like a mess in the beginning, but it slowly starts becoming more interesting and organized. the characters are really interesting, i like how they all have understandable motives, but theyre stilll all wrong in a way.
also, although it was fast paced at times and organized in a really peculiar way, i didnt feel like i had to be really concentrated to enjoy and understand the movie.
overall, pretty awesome, worth a watch.
[editline]12th May 2013[/editline]
also I thought "man I can see this twist coming already" in the beginning
oh boy i was wrong
