Last time I saw Evil Dead I was like 11, so I'm gonna give it another try tonight.

Did you see it on AMC?
yup
Star Trek Into Darkness
Better than the first movie, which was already pretty good. It had a lot of drama that never felt contrived and enough action to strike a good balance. My only complaint is that the villain was pretty meh.

Inside job and Michael Moores Capitalism, a love story.

Drive (2011 2nd watch)
Well I decided to try it out on some friends and what a waste of fucking time. Of 6 people only 2 managed to sit still without playing with an I pad, text messaging or looking at Facefuck on their smartphone. Such a film needs to be given due reverence without distraction or noise. The lights were out, everybody was sitting comfortably after food and drink so there was no excuse for disturbance.
I hate some of my friends, I wish they were dead. Some of my friends have the attn span of a goldfish. 3 quarts of the way through we had to stop the film and explain what was going on, I should have just left.
Evil Dead (1981)
8/10
Holy shit, I didn't remember this movie being this disturbing.
Good story progression, good actors, good tension and good sounds.
A few things felt kinda unexplained, like how Ash never got possessed like the others. And the makeup were good in some places, but horrible in others. The stopmotion parts felt a bit off aswell.
If this one was this disturbing, and it's 30 years old. I wonder how the remake lives up to it.

Good lord I absolutely hate it when people do that.

ha

I've seen way worse actors.

They were pretty good as demons but pretty bad as humans. But it's a cheesy movie so it's okay.

Which is exactly why I said they were good actors, not everyone could've pulled that demon thing. I watched this movie mostly because of the demons anyway :v:
shame - it was pretty good. the dialogues were really well written imo, and i really liked some of the long 1 shot scenes. it is however sort of slow paced, therefor not suitable for anyone

watch 2, it's better, and he does get possessed.
my parents were laughing while i was watching the first evil dead a long time ago and i was mad at them because i thought (at the time) it was a super serious movie that should be respected with maturity. anyways i just saw argo i can see why people liked it but i thought it was kind of boring but it did have it's moments, affleck was really good in it and the supporting cast goodman and akrin(?) were really good too but john goodman has been playing a kind of type cast role recently and he's losing some of his charm imho. 3.5/5
am i the only one who thought the guy playing Eric in the new evil dead was played by Jared Leto?
like seriously i was 100% convinced it was him
Gonna watch Evil Dead 2.
Going in pretty blind on this one, all I've heard is that it has a little bit more "comedy" than the first one.
I actually got bored watching the first Evil Dead
Yeah I didn't think it was all that. I'm also going to watch II today.
i expect nothing but the highest praise or ill lynch u all
This is the End 9/10
It's everything you could expect from that mash up of actors. The chemistry and comedic timing is spot on. Comedy of the year but I'm still awaiting World's End.
Requiem for a dream - 8/10
What a depressing movie.
Drugs are bad, mm'kay?
I had the pain of watching "Lost in Space" a really shitty old science fiction movie. By the time I realized how shitty it was I just kept watching for laughs.
I feel the need to retitle it as: Plot Twists: What the fuck the just happened.

There was a plot twist about every 10 minutes from when I started watching. I can't even care to list them as some of them are so bad its not even funny.
The silliest is by far when they escape in their spacecraft from a planet about to explode, a huge rock just falls down and just kills everyone instantly except the father who just watches casually through some sort of time machine and then walks through before it happened, to which they're like "oh you're back!!" and they take off again, except this time he tells them to fly through the planet as it cracks because uh... reasons?
1/5
rewatched Batman Begins
Solid film, I tried my best to fully understand it, tying up loose ends and looking for plot holes. It seems to be structured very well, even though I still have some issues with it.
But I guess you can't expect 100% realism from a movie with this premise.
What I hated the most is [sp]how easily they get rid of scarecrow. I almost laughed in that scene.[/sp]
I'd give it 8/10
scarecrow wasn't so much a criminal mastermind imo, much more a psychopathic naive, but clever and skillful sod.
I never "got" anything out of scarecrow as a villain, never read the comics but here he definitely wasn't the integral villain for me. Still very valuable here hence "[sp]perhaps you should have some, clear your head[/sp]", but towards the end he fell into a lesser role once his job pretty much finished.
He was sadistic but not magnificent in any way.
I almost laughed in that scene.

I did laugh at that scene, emphasised how foolish/pointless he actually was. In the sequel he's portrayed as nothing but a meaningless sidekick.
Probably didn't go down well with comic fans but in keeping with his theme.
The Cabin in the Woods - 8/10
Watched this without a lot of prior knowledge (except that it's pretty good) so I expected something a lot more darker.
What I got was a pretty funny movie with gore. I was very pleasantly surprised.
I liked that Cabin in the Woods was different, and did some cool things, but overall I think it is getting too much acclaim. The story line was fairly predictable in reality, with only certain details of it being surprising.
I watched 3 films tonight.. all related to police by accident.
1. Officer Down (2013) - An interesting tale of Detective Callahan (not inspector Callahan from DH) turned vigilante and street justice servant. It wouldnt be something I'd watch with my family, but overall I thought that it was a new spin on the typical cop film.
2. Broken City (2013) - I wasnt too thrilled with this one. I think its because I've seen a lot of cop movies and this one really hit me as odd. The resigned officer runs a side-job as a PI, but somehow still gets treated as a cop at all the crime scenes? Weird.
3. Gangster Squad (2013) - This is now one of my favorite movies. I like the old-time setting of it especially in LA and an unique plot to match. Some background information could've been used to further develop the characters and their personal lives, but a very good tie-in at the end.
Evil Dead II
It was far superior to the first movie in every way. I very much enjoyed it.
