The Fugitive 5/5 stars, staring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106977/
Henry V - 9.5/10
Drive - 8/10.
Although it should have been boring to me in hindsight, due to the long periods of silence, it somehow enthralled me.

Great film, felt so good to watch and personally i had to give it a 10
Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas - 10/10
After watching the Rum Diary, I felt driven to watch this classic again and it's just as good as I remembered it. There are a few movies that I consider part of my grouping of "Literally the best of the best" and this movie ranks at the very top. Just something about Johnny Depp's zany representation of the drug addled sage that is Hunter S. Thompson, alongside the surreal and hilarious visuals just really makes it all for me.
STRONGLY advise watching it if you haven't, and hell, watch it again if you have!
Just went to see Oblivion.
9/10
This movie is not for everyone, as one of the reviews said, it's quite slow and ponderous. But if you like your sci-fi and/or technology porn, you will LOVE this. Don't get me wrong, it's very interesting too, lots of good twists, but it looks and sounds absolutely marvellous.
It has a very interesting style of pacing - rather than most films (especially action), which start off fairly slow, speed up quickly, slow down slightly, speed up further, slow down again, etc until a climax; Oblivion is sort of like a sine-wave. You get the normal speed up, plenty of action scenes, and then it slows down a lot, as in to a similar pace as the start of the film. Then another speed up, and slowing down. It might not be for everyone though. I can understand people criticising that as bad pacing, but I disagree - it's different, but I think it's effective because the film doesn't start to lose itself in the action as it goes on, instead mixing exposition and action well throughout.
Very enjoyable, highly recommend.
I loved it, people might not like the story line but it grew on me. Also the visual effects and music is just fucking awesome, 10/10 for those two especially.
Premium Rush - 6/10
Low stakes plot, shitty characters and bad effects. Michael Shannon was good though and it had a few good action scenes.
still watching the Up series, on 21 Up now. The age where I'm most likely to relate, reaching that age shortly. :-)
wow.. a lot more in depth than the first two. Guess each of them had more to say this time around :v:
What's very strong here is how honest and real it is. If it were made today you can't help but reckon it'll be faked in one way or another.
The people change, they evolve and learn and free themselves from "class" systems.
There is a really powerful thing that happened on this one though.. one of them was so torn apart it made me well up inside. Half of the people have parents who are separated. But this one guy is literally so broken and so unstable and empty inside I felt a horror.
And it wasn't anywhere near who I was expecting either.
Also the jocky guy is awesome, reminds me of Joe Pesci in Goodfellas, he'll say it and not give a fuck.
A nice transformation here was a guy who seemed very withdrawn and shy at 14 then suddenly seems so bright and lifted within himself. Probably the only one out of the lot who changed dramatically for the better.
Extraordinary series..
I bought a new TV so I decided to watch some cinematic epic that I hadn't seen so I decided to watch
Lawrence of Arabia
Bloody marvellous! I was intrigued from the beginning until the very end, and when the end came I felt pretty sad that it was over. It was that good. At first I suspected the running time of 218 minutes to be too long for me, but that was not the case. Very beautiful cinematics and powerful scenes and dialogues all tied up with a perfect score. This film is definately my favourite for now, and I suspect it staying on the top. And this film feels like it's perfect to relive some other day.
10/10
still need to see Lawrence in HD.. what a film.
Yeah I bought the remastered Blu-ray, got a very nice picture.
Jurassic Park 3D
I was still just a baby when this movie first came out two decades ago, so I never saw this in theaters before. Being able to do so last night was a dream come true for me, because it always was one of my favorite films ever. Seeing it in 3D also helped highlight things about the movie I hadn't noticed before (mostly stuff like the details of the backgrounds in outdoor scenes). It helped make it feel like I was seeing the movie for the first time. That said, I have two, relatively minor complaints:
My first complaint is that at some points the 3D accentuated things that were relatively minor in the traditional format, like glares in the camera lenses, making them even more annoying and, for lack of a better term, glaring.
My second complaint (which I'm inclined to blame on the theater's sound system and not the movie itself) is that at 2 or 3 points near the very end of the movie some of the Raptor sound effects were barely audible if they were even audible at all (but these sound issues weren't too major, just a little glaring for someone who had seen this movie more than any other movie combined and thus has it practically memorized).
But those were relatively minor issue to me, so my final score is a 9/10.
Scary Movie V: 0/10
seriously do not watch this movie i think my IQ dropped about 60 points
I wanted it to end literally the first 10 seconds of it

also No Country for Old Men : 10/10
This movie has such suspense, it gives me a sinking feeling in my gut every time I watch it. The dead silence of everything and the superb effects gives such a realistic portrayal of the story, almost like I'm there. and every time i watch the part where [sp]anton shoots out the lock when llewelyn is on the bed[/sp] it makes me jump. Probably one of if not my favorite movies, if you havent seen this, go see it now. really im not joking its that good.
Gangster Squad 9/10, very good movie! Story line: Los Angeles, 1949: A secret crew of police officers led by two determined sergeants work together in an effort to take down the ruthless mob king Mickey Cohen who runs the city. Staring Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1321870/
It's very similar to The Untouchables movie 10/10 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094226
Both movies are worth watching.
Scream 4 - 8/10. It was nice, it was like watching the old Scream so long ago. Felt a bit too comedic though.
Gangster squad, which I forgot to review
Pretty good. The vibe reminded me of LA noire until it went all out action.
It has an interesting concept (despite not being anything new), decent characters, but it lacks originality in some aspects, which makes it easy to compare to other movies like it.
So, if you enjoy 40s themed action flicks, you'll most likely enjoy this movie too
Nothing too special tho, I really don't think I'm going to remember this movie in a few months
Anyone seen the intouchables?
Oh man, IGN gave the new Scary Movie a 1/10

It's really timet to end this shit, so yeah, good.
The Godfather - 1972
10/10 loved it.
Evil Dead 2
I really liked this. After watching the first one I really didn't know what to say. Can you say the first one is very campy? I'm not really a fan of campy movies, they need to be really something to make me enjoy them. First one has some really good parts but then you have few very drawn out moments and wooden acting. Now the second one is a different story. Entertaining from beginning to end. [sp]I was a bit confused about the start of the film. Did they do a quick simpler remake of the first movie?[/sp]

Pretty much.
Oblivion 8/10
Was very surprised by the story, expected something much more basic. Really immersive movie with a great soundtrack and Tom Cruise wasn't as obnoxious as I would have thought he'd be, considering he's pretty much the only character in the entire movie for quite a while.

yes, ED2 actually picks up where the last film leaves off (the evil flying at ash), while doing a quick recap of the first film, and for whatever reason raimi didn't obtain the rights to use stock footage from the first film, so he essentially remade it in 15-30 minutes.
I just watched Oldboy. I really enjoyed it
Wanderlust - 7/10
I laughed here and there.
Gangster Squad - 8/10
I enjoyed it.
Fun fact about that. Jennifer Aniston's topless scene was originally not meant to be blurred out. But she changed her mind in post.
Could have made the movie a 10/10.
Anyway
Mean Girls 4/5
It was kind of hard for me to relate to it because I'm an Australian boy, but it was written very well. There were some legitimately funny moments. My only problem was that she ends up with that guy. But he was a bit of a douche. He was that bitches boyfriend for most of it anyway.
Also young Lindsay Lohan was a babe.
The ABC's of Death - 3/10
The movie is sort of an anthology and each story uses a word or phrase that starts with a letter of the alphabet, going from A to Z. 95% of the time i was either going "What the fuck is this?" or "This is doesn't make any sense". There we maybe 4 or 5 segments that were OK. It's not really worth going through a 2 hour film for 15 minutes of OK stuff you could have seen on Youtube.
Does anyone know where I can find a list of movies that are looking for extras to be in their movies?
As for rating movies, I recently watched Django Unchained, and I'd have to give it a solid 9/10.
Tucker and Dale vs Evil 9/10
I was really surprised to how good this was. Everybody that has seen all the clichè "cabin in the woods" style horrors shouls see it. Great concept and execution.
Wrath of the titans
Boring, but better than the first one. Had some decent fight scenes here and there, and some nice effects, but most of it was crap. The all powerful gods really don't seem that powerful [sp](there's so many of them dying throughout the movie and there's so many anti climatic scenes with them; the makers of this movie really didn't know how to make them seem as powerful as they should be)[/sp]
Also, what the fuck is up with the British and Australian accents? When I imagine ancient Greeks I really don't think of them talking like they do in the movie. Also, I cringed every time that queen whatever spoke, I don't know if it was the acting or just the lines.
Overall lets just say I really don't recommend this movie
