the movie wasn't really about sugar though so I was never bothered by his far out ways

in all honesty it took a few watches to get around the inner workings of the film

As a communication and media student, this film really spoke to me not only through its phenomenal design and execution, but with its ideas about the future of the human condition at an individual level. As I walked out of the cinema I was kind of unsure what to think; the film has countless layers and themes that will no doubt be discussed for years to come, so much so that it's almost overwhelming. Fundamentally, though, it's packed with emotion and delivered flawlessly. 9.4/10

I feel like I should like this movie more than I do. The characters and cinematography were amazing, but I was pissed off at the end of the movie. Plot was so ambiguous, but I guess that's on purpose.
i didnt understand the ending
like, i literally couldn't understand what tommy lee jones was saying with that accent he had
tommy lee jones has a glorious accent..

!!
Oscar nominations everyone!

Biggest surprise is probably disturbing lack of Inside Llewelyn Davis, Rush and All is Lost.
Oh, and I love how Acadamy changes every year the amount of candidates for Best Picture.
nebraska is a fucking good film...

it won't win, nowhere near as politically/socially charged as oscars demand.

"his acting was bad because I can't speak english"
what the heck are you talking about? i didn't say his acting was bad i said i couldn't understand what he was saying, nothing more
the biggest snub is Before Midnight not getting a mention. Reminds me of how Gran Torino got totally ignored too.

que pasa?
i'm just not sure what you're on about. that was just an offhand comment about how back when i saw no country for old men, my english wasn't good so i couldn't understand what he was saying. no idea where you got that i said "his acting was bad"
amigo, if i wasn't confident with a language, I'd just watch the film with subtitles, just saying...

10 nominations for American Hustle? What the shit
only one it deserves is most stupidly overrated film

it's actually a lot harder to learn english (or any other language) when you have subtitles to help you
like how the fuck did it earn director and screenplay nominations?? o russell seemed to have no idea what kind of film he was making and the script is a convoluted mess made only to show off acting abilities. O Russell did not care about the plot of the film, just trying to nab another oscar cos he can get good performances. Haaaack.

Ensemble cast movies always get praise.
especially when your entire cast are oscar shoein buzz names working with a director whose main goal is to get oscars
[editline]16th January 2014[/editline]
im yet to actually meet anyone who thought American Hustle was anything above average which confuses me because where is the hype coming from

yuh
anyone subscribed to Little White Lies? Been thinking of buying their magazines a while now, love their site so I think I will at some point
I'm rooting for Wolf of Wall Street, even though it probably won't win.
I want Captain Phillips to win something at the Oscars, I think it deserves a award
but American Hustle shouldn't win anything
All I want is Fassbender for Best Supporting
Gravity will win all of the technical categories it's nominated for.
Last Vegas
pointless, meaningless and incredibly unfunny movie.
Finally got around to watching Dredd (the 2012 version).
Really fucking good, for someone who knows next to nothing about the original comics it was highly enjoyable.
i didn't think 12 years was all that great. real formulaic. and i'm black. shoot me.
American Hustle 9.5/10
Bloody hell, as good as Goodfellas. Some interesting parallels, such as [sp]the ever sensing dread that something is about to go wrong[/sp]. Absolutely fantastic.
Also Amy Adams, god damn.
i didn't realise it was possible to have a wrong opinion until i read your post just now
"as good as Goodfellas" jesus fuck
[editline]16th January 2014[/editline]
more like shitty ripoff attempt at making a scorsese film but fucking it up terribly cos u cant actually write a goddamn film
Frozen 8.5/10
p damn good
Wolf on Wall Street was the best film of 2013. Blew American Hustle out of the water.
