oh man... monuments men not doing so good on the reviews front :/ here's to hoping it's just the rotten tomato pillocks causing that
Metacritic score currently is 52
Robocop eh 6/10 I suppose. Or watch the original/10
oh man... monuments men not doing so good on the reviews front :/ here's to hoping it's just the rotten tomato pillocks causing that
It's getting mediocre reviews because it's a mediocre movie.
The Spy Who Loved Me 4/5 Wow, that was really good. Way better than I had expected. I'm not totally own over by Moore's foppish Bond, but they at least did the comedic aspects rather well. Also, the dynamic between Anya and Bond worked very well. I can't believe this was one of the Bond films I had just given up on. One last thing, but nobody does it better.
Batman and Robin - 5/10 This wasn't made by Joel Schumacher. This was made by a time-travelling Adam West disguised as Joel Schumacher. It's so cliched, so over-the-top, so ungodly silly, so dumb, so utterly stupid, I don't have any other explanation for it being the way it is.
Filth 7.5/10 I've lived in Scotland for over a year and this reminded me of the lifestyle. Great movie I'd say; funny, twisted, disturbing, it was great fun and the story and characters were original and interesting to a certain degree.
Burke and Hare 7/10
Welcome to the punch - 6.5/10 this movie is bought to you by the colour blue
Full Metal Jacket - 8/10 is that you john wayne? is this me?
who said that? who the fuck said that? who's the slimy little Communist shit twinkle-toed cocksucker down here, who just signed his own death warrant? Nobody, huh?! The fairy fucking godmother said it! Out-fucking-standing! I will P.T. you all until you fucking die!
haven't seen Saving Private Ryan in so long and only now realised Bryan Cranston is in it.. I'm guessing after Breaking Bad, he'll just be popping into more of the movies I watch.

The Grey I remember wanting to see this a few years back when it came out because wolves are pretty cool (scary) to me, and I like Liam Neeson so it seemed interesting. I saw it on Netflix and decided to watch. I wasn't really expecting much, mostly just a 2 hour version of the cargo ship wolf scene in The Day After Tomorrow except in the woods. I must say, it starts off a bit slow and somewhat frightening at first, but by like 1/3 the way through it turns into like a good slow, like edge of your seat biting your nails palms sweating thats how edgy it is slow. I truly felt pity for the characters as they died in some way, shape or form. Oh my god the end is so fucking sick. [sp]Liam Neeson just giving the fuck up and crouching down on the ground, pulling out all the dead peoples wallets and looking at their photos[/sp] then the camera pans up and after a second you realize [sp]hes in the middle of the fucking wolf den with all the carcasses around him[/sp] and then that cliffhanger but somewhat you know what happened finalé. Being an optimist I would have hoped for something different but that isn't what the movie is supposed to be. The idea isn't that complex and its a pretty common movie type but it was well executed. 8/10

the last stand gee that was bad, so many cliche moments and shit, its like a better version of killing season 6/10
the last stand gee that was bad, so many cliche moments and shit, its like a better version of killing season 6/10
It was bad but 6/10? Also I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be cliched to hell, it's an Arnold movie for crying out loud.
ive not seen the film but I saw the other two films of the same director, he did that tongue in cheek action-comedy remake of TGTBATU (The Good, The Bad, The Weird) and it was fucking amazing. He also did I Saw The Devil which is literally one of the best thrillers (even tho I hate calling something a "thriller but w/e) ive ever seen. The dude is good as fuck and imo yea it came across as deliberately silly, my friend who had seen his other stuff loved the film so I might check it out. It looks like a load of fun. [editline]14th February 2014[/editline] hes south korean too and those dudes have been on the fucking ball the past 10 years so think of that also [editline]14th February 2014[/editline] so The Room is playing at my fave cinema tonight/tomorrow and tonights screening is over and my friend works at that cinema and the jealousy is immense ;__; im going tomorrow tho gonna try and get a hookup to meet him cos my life will peak
Terminal 7/10 Good movie but shallow as all Spielberg movies are also holy fuck : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_have_lived_at_airports
shallow as all Spielberg movies are
this is factually wrong
Terminal 7/10 Good movie but shallow as all Spielberg movies are also holy fuck : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_who_have_lived_at_airports
Saving Private Ryan is shallow? Empire of the Sun is shallow? Schindlers List is shallow? I can give you he's got some shit movies on his list but the man's good movies are fucking great. Not that they're terribly deep but Indiana Jones, Jaws, AI, Lincoln, Munich, Catch me If you Can, etc are great movies also What are you smoking? I gotta get some of that
The Hurt Locker had more humanity in it than Saving Pvt. Ryan. I really only dig the extensiveness of the battle sequences tbh. [editline]15th February 2014[/editline] also watched Her well, woah I expected something similar to Lars and the Real Girl, but I'm glad I never read anything about it prior to seeing it. Thank you Jonze, you gave again, a terrific forward-thinking, heartfelt movie. Very vibrant, soothing and it is just a nice couple hours to be in. This shoots fairly high in my top 2013s. Definitely need to dig into it again when it's released, but on the right off, it just feels fully realised and symphonic all the way through. Fantastic soundtrack, would never thought Arcade Fire would manage to lift the film to new heights. It's not exactly a downer tbh, it's really a wave of feelings pouring through the almighty Phoenix. Amy Adams was great as always, never seen a role where she doesn't perfectly fit in. In the end, I really can't name a film quite like it, it takes influences from so many different places but the way it's written is just so dynamic yet natural and sweet that it supersedes quite a lot of films about love/philosophy. It has a touch of sci-fi but it's weird, it almost feels present or a few years away. It's some kind of post-modernism or whatever, anyway.. it's loaded with a bit of cheese which is good and phoenix is now taking his stride into his best years of his career. It probably will be ignored at the mainstream accolade thing, but that's life/a.i.
Thor 2 7.5/10 Her 9/10
Only God Forgives I have now seen Refn's 4 most recent films, and I liked them all. Comparing this one to the others, I know a lot of people (including me) were hyped when the trailer for OGF was released a while back, thinking it would be another Drive. However, it's pretty far from it. The film is kinda similar to Valhalla Rising in that there is very little dialog with long scenes of characters' faces interspersed with violence scenes. OGF has amazing cinematography (as do all Refn films), but I think it might have been a bit too red. The first karaoke scene was weird, but I learned to accept the later ones. The whole metaphor with the hands and forgiveness from God was quite good. There were a number of scenes that were fairly intense and had me on the edge of my seat, but then there were other scenes where I almost lost all attention. Overall, I don't like it as much as Drive or Bronson, but I don't know how I'd compare it to Valhalla Rising. This is definitely not a movie for people who only watch summer blockbusters, and I know even a lot of people who like more abstract films still didn't like this one. It's a very divided subject, but I feel that it gets too much negative press. Go watch it if you like Refn's other works, go watch it if you want something different, but don't go watch it if you were expecting another Drive or wanting a hardcore action movie.
akira (1988) 8/10 what a movie. ending was a tad confusing but it was tight
The Hurt Locker had more humanity in it than Saving Pvt. Ryan.
fuck that. hurt locker was garbage tier
