Harrison Ford outside of Dr Jones was never really given light imo, I know Han Solo but realistically that's not as good a performance as Indy. Yet to see Witness though.
watch it. also, if you enjoyed the fugitive, you have to see clear and present danger. plus, how is it that lethal weapon made you stop hating mel gibson (why would you hate him in the first place), when he has so much fantastic work?
safety not guaranteed 9/10 what an adorable film, loved it [editline]21st May 2013[/editline]
psh I'm jewish and I watch plenty of Mel Gibson movies, they should get over it I just make fun of him enough to make up for it
I think that whatever the beliefs of the actor, a good performance is a good performance. Mel Gibson's a fucking nutcase though
aside the antisemetism Gibson owns mad max 2 is he best film of the 80s
plus, how is it that lethal weapon made you stop hating mel gibson (why would you hate him in the first place), when he has so much fantastic work?
I never hated him really, he's just done things irl that are "out there". [editline]21st May 2013[/editline]
It's interesting to know that the director of this film (Richard Donner) also directed Superman the Movie.
dick donner is a bro, he directed goonies too. ;) [editline]21st May 2013[/editline] fucking shame he never finished superman 2 in his vision, who the fuck fires a director 2 thirds into production..
In Bruges - 10/10 Fucking hilarious yet really emotional at the same time. Perfect comedy.
American Psychopath 8/10, a rather odd movie, but Christian Bale sold it in my opinion.

Since some people posted their viewings of TV shows, I guess I should give my review of The DCAU Batman: The Animated Series: I loved it. It's everything good about Batman with none of the bad stuff. There were a few corny episodes ("Batman In My Basement" and "Critters" are the ones that come to mind), and the whole fourth season (which featured updated animation and art to match Superman: TAS) was a little weaker compared to the first three, but overall it was great. Great art, great animation, great voice acting, great directing, great everything. It's the definitive Batman. 9/10 Batman: Mask of the Phantasm: It had all that good stuff from the animated series, with an interesting, thrilling, and heart-wrenching story. 9/10 Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero: It was good, but there were some weak moments (the chase scene was long and drawn out, and the eskimo kid served NO purpose whatsoever), but overall it was still more entertaining than Batman & Robin. 8/10 Batman: Mystery Of The Batwoman: Eh. Not an interesting plot, and I was upset that they had a different voice actor for Penguin, because the new actor just couldn't capture the same effect the first one had. I still liked it, but it could have been so much better. 6/10 Superman: The Animated Series: At first I didn't really care for it because it was a lot lighter (both figuratively and literally) and softer than Batman: TAS, but it grew on me. It had all the same great qualities of Batman: TAS but done different. I have to say my favorite episode was the one that first featured Mr. Mxyzptlk. It was just so hilarious. This series made me respect Superman a lot more than I did before. 8/10 Batman Beyond: It was an interesting concept, and a great way to reinterpret the bullshit "Batman in high school" premise the executives had ordered. It was depressing to see Bruce Wayne start out alone and bitter, but it helped make the interactions between him and the new Batman funnier. The new Batman, Terry, was likeable, he didn't try to emulate Bruce Wayne's "dark and brooding" personality. His personal Rogues Gallery was interesting, too. All in all, 8/10. Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker: This was a great film. It was great to see Mark Hamill's Joker again. The flashback sequence of [sp]Tim Drake's torture[/sp] was frightening and heart-breaking at the same time, and it really emphasized how monstrous the Joker was. It made Terry's speech to him telling him how much he sucks really awesome. 9/10 The Zeta Project: I couldn't find good quality videos online or any DVD release (does one even exist?), so I can't make an accurate judgement. From the two Batman Beyond episodes he appeared in, I didn't find Zeta an interesting character, but that's not enough to make an accurate judgement of the actual series, so Rating N/A. Static Shock: I wasn't all that thrilled by it. Since it wasn't supposed to be DCAU in the first place it started off more kid-friendly compared to the rest of the DCAU. It got a bit better as it went on, but to be honest I really only preferred the crossover episodes. 6/10 Justice League: This was an awesome show. It suffered a tiny bit from the fact that each story took multiple episodes and they all tried to cram as many of the 7 members in as possible each time, but they were excellent stories, with great characterization and voice acting like always. 9/10 Justice League Unlimited: Also awesome. It was better because it didn't try to focus on every single member of the JLU, and I liked the episodes that had more focus on the lesser-known heroes (I mean, hey, one of them was a cowboy voiced by Nathan Fillion, how could you go wrong with that?). The Cadmus story arc was awesome, and the "Epilogue" episode (which not only wrapped the story arc up but was also meant to close out the entire DCAU) made me kinda wish that they didn't have another season after that. Still, the FINAL final episode was a world-wide fight where all the heroes and villains teamed up to fight Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips, so that more than made up for it. All in all, JLU was the best way to close out the DCAU, and I felt a little sad that I've run out of episodes to watch. 9/10 Overall Rating: If you had to use actual math to make a cumulative score to the DCAU, it'd turn out to be 7.2/10, but I don't think that's a fair score, so I'm changing it to 9/10, because fuck math.
American Psychopath? Shirley you must mean American Psycho?
Yeah, thanks for the correction.
So my friend got the Bootleg Edition of Army of Darkness at a yard sale yesterday and I gave it a watch. As much as I hate to admit it, it's not as awesome as I remember it being. Like, don't get me wrong, it's still awesome, but after watching the first two Evil Dead movies so much, it almost doesn't even compare. Especially due to the fact that the movie is almost bloodless. Now, I know they were going for a more comedic feel and they wanted to appeal to a wider audience, but it almost feels like an ungraceful sequel to the masterpiece Evil Dead II. THAT BEING SAID, it's still one of my favorite comedies. The effects are just as wicked as ever, Ash is just as entertaining as he was in Evil Dead II, the story takes a concept that's been done many times before and puts that awesome Sam Raimi twist on it... it's still great. Army Of Darkness (Bootleg Edition)- 8.5/10
why not just watch the newly released directors cut bluray [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline]
[sp] "I SLEPT TOO LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!" [/sp]
director's blu has this one too it is the better ending [editline]22nd May 2013[/editline]
Easily one of my favorite movies of all time. Probably the greatest satire ever written next to Life Of Brian.
life of brian sucks, all of monty python does. having loved all of their stuff as a little kid, rewatching it as an adult yearned only cringing and a straight face. it's 10 year old level of comedy. but the internet has a huge boner for them so im sure nobody else here will agree

Iron Man 3 9/10 More action than the first 2, but the story is a little bit worse than the first 2. Robert Downey Jr. always has the wittiest remarks that had me cracking up for minutes.
Undisputed 3 8/10 It's hard to find new fight movies that have original fight scenes. Boyka is a boss.
Iron Man 3: 5/10 and Mr. Nobody: 9/10, both in the same day.
Iron Man 3 9/10 More action than the first 2, but the story is a little bit worse than the first 2. Regardless of how anyone feels about it, it had far less action than both the first and second movie. Also Star Trek: Into Darkness 4.5/5 Fantastic summer movie. It was action packed, had a great story to it, the acting was awesome. What I loved most about the movie was how fantastic it looked. The sets and visual effects were top of the line. I could watch the movie with no audio and still enjoy it. If you enjoyed the first one even a little bit I say go and see in cinemas right now.
Fight Club 7/10
wow man, are you for reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal??

The Weather Man was a good movie. 7/10
Fight Club 7/10
I haven't watched a film since antichrist which Ive already wrote about but I just want to say thanks for not cumming all over this movie
life of brian sucks, all of monty python does.
Get a load of this guy.
so i watched The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and i really liked the story but towards the end it just turned to the weirdest thing ever
The Hangover Part III - 3 maybe 4/10 They tried to add closure and character development to characters no one cared about. People want to watch this film to see dumb fun yet this film has next to none of that, and it's missing a key part of the other two (Hint its in the title), as well as the other crazy bits. This one was so grounded in comparison it just doesn't make sense how they fucked up so much. I liked the first hangover, even enjoyed the second one a bit, but this was just shit. I didn't laugh, I didn't care and I didn't see the point in this film existing at all. [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] Having said that at least it wasn't a remake of the first film except for the key point of doug disappearing again.
Mr. Nobody: 9/10, both in the same day.
Still my favorite movie.
Not a film I've seen but, have you guys seen this yet? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1117671683/harbinger-down-a-practical-creature-fx-film If you're a big fan of practical effects in science fiction movies (like Aliens, Original Star wars trilogy etc.) you should give these guys your money. Even Lance Henriksen (Bishop in the Alien films) is supporting it. Kickstarter still doesn't support paypal, or I would give these guys at least 50 bucks.
Olympus has fallen - 2/10 horrible dialogue, no logic whatsoever, patriotic bag of dicks in other news i just bought my ticket for Only God Forgives on 5th june!
Only God Forgives has been getting utterly panned. But I don't really care, I still wanna see it and will do so. It got lots of boos and walkouts at Cannes but what doesn't lol. Critics at Cannes are all dumb old people who hate everything and won't even bother to sit a film through to justify their criticisms properly. Their opinions mean absolutely nothing to me. And The Guardian gave it a 5 star review. It's all 5 star or 1 star. So divisive, as expected. I think that's due partly it's in no way gonna be a film for everyone, and also it's not going to be Drive 2 like what everyone's been saying. I'm expecting something more along the lines of Valhalla Rising, if you were to compare it to another Refn piece. It's gonna be weird, slow and surreal and hyper-violent (so... just like every other Refn film I've seen. only seen the English language ones but one day i will watch the pusher films- I just mean it's not something that should come unexpected. It's not like Spielberg one day decided he was going to do Irreversible. It's what Refn's been doing for years.) The main criticisms seem to be going to the violence not only being far too graphic as well as not being able to justify it being so extreme because the script is shallow. In my opinion you can justify explicit violence (or sex, since it falls under similar criticisms, I know Lars Von Trier's still-to-be-released film Nymphomaniac is getting a lot of buzz over what will likely be very common scenes of unsimulated sex) purely on a stylistic basis. I mean it's written in the script and up to the director to do with it what he will, and if that means he wants to make the violence or the sex graphic then it's in their right to do so. It's their film.
they also booed to the blowjob in Brown Bunny, they cannot be trusted..
i think the best is to go in without any expectations, def not expecting a Drive 2
I'm expecting something more along the lines of Valhalla Rising, if you were to compare it to another Refn piece.
excellent, VR was the first refn film i saw.
they also booed to the blowjob in Brown Bunny, they cannot be trusted..
I remember Roger Ebert got into a fight with the director of that movie. A climatic insult fight it was, all because Ebert hated the movie with a passion
