Also that guy talking about the damage: Supes literally punches Zod or some other of the forgetable grunts through a cafee and like 3 rows of buildings when they first meet.
superman is a careless asshole in that movie. but can you blame him, just look at his earth dad.
yea his dad was a retard Supes did not have a good father figure and his mum is basically not a character i cant blame him for not understanding how anything in the world works or makes sense or whatever

im surprised with parents like that clark kent is even half functional in every day life and not one of those weird only childs that has a tenuous grip on reality at best
Inside Llewyn Davis 79/100

It's astounding, truly astounding how you can have writing this preposterously retarded.

Well, that was surprisingly good. I love films based on true story that made me want to explore their topic more after watching. The story presented there was extra-ordinary, heartbreaking and absolutely worth telling. The rest was good enough to sustain this, nothing particularly amazing. I was expecting to be just another British film thrown into the pool of other nominees for sake of diversity (it probably was, seeing how it was produced by Weinstein Company), but it actually hold itself against other films well. Really worth watching.

can't wait for your superman film
can't wait for Ben Affleck as Batman
American Hustle 6.5/10
the acting is very good, but the story is weak and confusing. the movie should have focused a little more on plot elements than on a bunch of people bickering and yelling at each other.

You clearly don't understand David O. Russel's vision:
Christian Bale revealed in an interview that the majority of his character interactions were improvised in multiple takes in which he questioned David O. Russell about the plot. Russell responded that what he had wanted to focus on the characters, rather than the plot.
Pride and Glory - 8.5/10
one of those movies ive seen long time ago and feels so good to rewatch.
i love it alot, it really has its own feeling to it. definitely underrated
Is the Oldboy remake worth watching? I'm seeing that it has really shitty scores. But if it's true to the original, how bad can it be?

if it is true to the original... as in "direct copy" then why would it be worth watching at all.

well unless you're this guy:
No, why would I watch a film that isn't my own language? :v:
I haven't watched, but I heard that [sp]incest subplot was entirely removed[/sp], and that's a pretty huge shift from 2003 film.

Of course I don't mean a direct copy, I'm talking about the general direction of the remake. Getting 5.4/10 on IMDB and 44% / 37% is pretty damn bad, that's like The Room levels.

that is literally the entire point and plot of the movie gone
nah, i just read a summary and the subplot is still there, albeit in a slightly different way [sp] the antagonist wasn't fucking his sister, his sister was fucking their dad and that's who 'Joe' sees at school [/sp]
The [sp]incest[/sp] angle wasn't in the original manga, which the film was based off. So it's not a big offence even if they did remove it. It'd still make sense.

it made the film for me though, it came totally out of left field
Oldboy was awesome.
The original. Not the remake.
Fuck Spike Lee.

I read about that before watching it. Yeah, I can see what they were trying to do but they didn't pull it off very well. The characters weren't all that good per se, although everyone did a good job at portraying them. I still don't think it worked as a whole, most of the dialogue wasn't even very clever or interesting. The movie is still good, don't get me wrong, but it's not mind blowing oscar worthy material.
Cockneys vs Zombies
Meh.
5/10
As much as I liked The Lego Movie, do people actually unironically enjoy listening to Everything is Awesome?

'no no no no son let me, the vulnerable, weak, save the dog, not you, the invincible, quicker than a speeding bullet son of mine to save the dog oh no it has to be me for the plot sake.'

that makes me remember, there was this scene where [sp]the dad starts killing off his family because the rumor had gotten out, and after he killed his wife and his daughter, he goes into this room and the son is splayed out on a mattress in a "take me now" sorta way, and when he sees his dad he gets excited and yells out "father!" and begins to unzip his pants, and the dad just blasts him with the shotgun[/sp]
oh god that was fucking hilarious

Come on man. Spike Lee is fantastic. Ignore the Tarantino circlejerk-spike Lee hate, the dude is a brilliant filmmaker. Do The Right Thing is often ranked as one of the single best films of the 80's (Ebert ranking it at number 4). 25th Hour is often considered one of the finest of the 21st century. Malcolm X was very well recieved, ranking as one of Denzel Washington's best films and was selected for preservation in the national film registry (as was Do The Right Thing), Inside Man is a fantastic and stylish crime thriller that manages to be original in a very saturated genre. His documentary 4 Little Girls got nominated for Best Documentary at the oscars... He's very talented but has this weird circlejerk of hatred towards him by people who I'm sure haven't even seen any of his movies. It's ridiculous.

well, as pointed out already, even the 03 film isn't "true" to the manga, so seeing as how for the most part this is a remake of an adaptation, that makes it kinda pointless. not to mention them apparently rewriting the twist and trying to make it more shocking failed.

"let's see you do better"
wow is that really the angle you're going with here

Yet he hates on movies that he himself hasn't even seen. Case in point: Flags of Our Fathers, Django Unchained.

By that logic everyone in this thread has to make a better movie before we can rate the last movie we watched
