American Hustle What a boring, pointless movie
The entire time I was watching it, I just felt like there was something I wasn't getting. Like you had to have lived in that time period to really enjoy it.
Watchmen 8.5/10 I enjoy it every time I see it. Comic book is better, but it's still a great ass movie imo.
American Hustle was just trying its hardest to imitate Scorsese and Goodfellas or something imo, all while having trying to convey an attitude of self-importance and cleverness that just wasn't there
Eh, i didnt think American Hustle was anything special, but i did enjoy the characters.
Taken, fuck it rating it 10 just because of Liam Neeson.
people like u are one of the reasons hollywood keeps spewing out filth [editline]10th March 2014[/editline] taken is so AWFUL
it seems like all of these awful movies Liam Neeson stars in these days are just really rejected ideas for Taken sequels Taken 2 The Skies Taken 2 The Mountains My Memories Were Taken
people like u are one of the reasons hollywood keeps spewing out filth [editline]10th March 2014[/editline] taken is so AWFUL
It is pretty awful, yeah.
Taken is like one of those 80s one man army "they took my wife/daughter/girl, now they die" movies, but with out the cool 80s tone that made those movies fun.
geriatric bourne identity now with 100% less plot
I don't think he means it's necessarily bad. I mean Leo has a lot of fantastic roles, but I've never seen a film with him in it that I didn't see "Leonardo DiCaprio as _____" rather than the character he was supposed to be playing. I never thought "Wow, Calvin Candie is such a douchebag," I thought "God damn Leonardo DiCaprio did a fantastic job as Calvin Candie." If that makes sense.
Which is why he has never in his career deserved an Oscar
Robin Hood: Men in Tights - Horrible/10 This film was kind of garbage. There were very few good parts, if any, and a lot of ''jokes'' fell flat on their faces. Maybe I'm just not into that whole parody thing. Or maybe this film just sucks? Who knows.
Maybe like Mark said the jokes might be dated if you didn't grow up with this movie, I still consider it to be one of the funniest movies I've seen, and my favourite of the Mel Brooks films. In comparison to comedy movies today, films like Robin Hood:MIT are absolute gems. Surely you've seen Spaceballs?
After all the bad criticism surrounding the new 300 movie, I decided to see Non-Stop. I wasn't expecting a lot, but I was fairly surprised. It didn't seem like a long movie. I hadn't realized it was an 1h and 46m long. I had a subtle idea of what I was going into, and honestly, from the trailers I thought that [sp]Liam, himself was somehow doing it himself.[/sp] but then was surprised, pleasantly. It was a fair movie, and I cannot complain one bit about it. Though the ending seemed kind of.. Plopped into there. [sp]The whole 'I did it because I dislike what happened on 9/11, my father died, so I have to kill all these people on this plane to show how easy it was![/sp]
Unstoppable 7/10 Although predictable and formulaic, it's exciting and has some nice cinematography.
Unstoppable 7/10 Although predictable and formulaic, it's exciting and has some nice cinematography.
Really? I thought it was rather boring. Its basically: LOUD NOISES-TRAIN GOING FAST HITTING STUFF - cut to Denzel and Chris doing something ad-infinitum
Unstoppable was so fucking bad in literally every way I hated that goddamn movie SO MUCH [editline]10th March 2014[/editline] 3/10 imo literally so bad Chris Pine is a terrible actor and Denzel is good when he's good but he's boring and shit in that film and Tony Scott's direction is very bad and messy and it's a zero tension, by the numbers generic thriller with no thrills whatsoever the concept doesnt even make sense, like the lever was just like "haha im alive i think ITS TIME TO DRIVE!!" fuck off and it had a truly terrible love story attached to it and had a really awful B level TV-movie montage at the end showing off how everything is ok and all that. made me fuckin puke
I don't remember a single thing about it.
people like u are one of the reasons hollywood keeps spewing out filth [editline]10th March 2014[/editline] taken is so AWFUL
I LIKED the first Taken. I didn't bother watching Taken 2 and I'm not going to bother watching any of Liam Neeson's current action movies, though, because they all look like they're doing the exact same plot and fuck that shit. Still, the first one was entertaining, and anyone who thinks I'm dumb for saying so can go fuck themselves with a cactus. To be honest, though, I was tempted to watch the one where he's on a plane (and it's pretty hilarious/sad that the plots for all his current movies can be summed up like that) purely because it had Julianne Moore in it, but I've resisted that temptation.
Adventureland - 6/10. It was interesting up until a point where I just got bored and the ending didn't help. Enjoyable though.

As for the plane movie, I'd give it a 7/10 from my perspective. It's got some action, some drama. Shit where you'll keep guessing. I don't think it's like his other movies, where he's the calm collected guy. He kind of loses his shit a couple times in the movie, but in the end. Yeah, he plays a calm collected guy most of the time. All I can say is the ending was really 'eh' though. I kind of predicted it, but not how it was going to unfold.
The World's End. Definite 9/10. I think this would go on my top 5 list of movies I've seen.
Blackfish: 9/10 Tears were shed.
Taken 2 involves a 20-y.o. girl throwing grenades onto a parking structure from an adjacent hotel window so Liam Neeson can figure out where he is based on echolocation.
Blackfish: 9/10 Tears were shed.
It was okay. [sp]fuck seaworld[/sp] maybe not though, you never know with this kind of documentary.
I saw The Pianist 10/10 very depressing though
The Grand Budapest Hotel Well. I just got in from seeing this film at the greatest cinema I've ever been to because I felt it deserved a decent cinema to watch it in. (Empire at Rubery Great Park, if anyone knows where that is) Holy shit, this film blew me away. The stunning visuals, the amazing sense of humour, and the brilliant and poignant drama of a human relationship running below the surface. Ralph Fiennes gave a brilliant performance, his jokes never falling flat and being backed up by his amazing mannerisms. The end of the film is also extremely depressing. I wasn't prepared for it. 9/10
Blackfish: 9/10 Tears were shed.
now you know the evil that is seaworld
Early reactions to Noah is postive
It looks like shit from the trailers but yeah people are saying it's really good, I read that it's not like a blockbuster action movie but it's marketed as one cos that'll sell tickets. Like Drive was marketed to be like f&f I suppose. I'll go see it now cos it's apparently really powerful n deep
The end of the film is also
dude, that's technically spoiling it
I read that it's not like a blockbuster action movie but it's marketed as one cos that'll sell tickets.
what else is new with hollywood!
