I watched half of 2 Guns and it was pretty fun. It had a lot of character, but the pacing was a little funky.
though I'm not really one to judge a movie by its poster, how does one look at this or the description and think its a movie worth an hour and a half of their time? [t]http://www.impawards.com/2013/posters/two_guns_xlg.jpg[/t]
In fact it doesn't look interesting, but my friend insisted in watching something with denzel in it. It's not utter garbage though, it's just meh
Peter Jackson used to be good then he made that shitfest King Kong and never recovered cos The Hobbit films come off like he was just lost and confused while trying to make them
correction hes been terrible ever since dead alive/braindead
correction hes been terrible ever since dead alive/braindead
every damn time i be like the frighteners and lotr, fellowship at the least king kong wasn't so bad but i turned off lovely bones because i didn't care
Peter Jackson loves this technique I call slow mo sad face like nearly every film he's done for a while has had a bit where there's a person being sad in slow motion while mournful music plays

After Earth: 1/10. That means you should watch it. Seriously, it's awesome.
Here is the FP Peter Jackson meter by year Hobbit Meter - Unexpected Journey - Most people thought it was okay - a year later - most of FP thinks its terrible now - Desolation of Smaug - Everyone likes it - a few months later - alot of FPers thinks its mediocre and terrible cash gab King Kong - I enjoyed it and most people did - 9 years later - most people say its between the lines of okay and mediocre Rusty's Meter - thinks everyone Jackson movie after Braindead is terrible Now for my opinion, I will admit Meet the Feebles is the favorite of his early movies. Lord of the Rings is a fine damn trilogy. Hobbit is okay too (first one is boring but not too terrible). And I like the King Kong remake cause I watched it as a kid and still love it today. Moving on from the subject of Peter Jackson, I watched the Whoopi Goldberg comedy 'The Associate'. I give it a 7/10
LOTR trilogy, ignoring the blatant and annoying disparity with the source material are some decent movies. The Hobbit trilogy is a bunch of over-cgi'd boring crap with almost nothing in common with the source. [editline]26th March 2014[/editline] seriously what was the point of even hiring actors for the hobbit, just make it an animated film - they're already like 80% of the way there
Snowpiercer 7.0/10 The Secret Life of Walter Mitty 7.7/10 Definitely the best film yet by (and starring) Ben Stiller
The Lego Movie - 7/10, really not as good as most people say it is, in my opinion anyway.
Am I the only person who genuinely loves King Kong? It doesn't feel it's length and I'm always engrossed the whole way through.

That whole story about that lance leading up to the big fight in the 3rd movie and that dwarf-elve romance were so unnecessary.
tbh I hated Under The Skin. I did not get it. I wanted my money back. It was ridiculously slow and boring. Visually and technically impressive (sound design was amazing) but ugh. It was so fucking dull and painfully repetitive. It was just 2 hours of fuck all. Legit question-- what was the film about aside the basic plot (which was barely there, although I dont knock a film for lack of plot if the film justifies its existence in other ways- I feel this didn't) cos I wanna fucking know. I kiiiiinda got stuff of it being about alienation in general... With the disfigured dude and the shots of Glasgow people etc. I also took it as pretty anti-human nature. Idk. That didn't make it a good film. What bits of symbolism etc I took from it were minimal and basic. Imo there was very little to the movie. [editline]26th March 2014[/editline] with all the acclaim and calling Glazer "the next Kubrick" and shit I gotta say I was ridiculoulsy disappointed when it turned out to be a pile of shit
When it was shown at whatever film festival apparently some people booed it while others thought it was the best thing they had ever seen. I'm very interested in seeing it.
It doesn't feel its length it feels twice its length
not really maybe it's one of those films for me.
I feel like Peter Jackson would be better if he didn't make movies based on stuff he fan boys over. In every LOTR movie there are shots and scenes where you can tell Jackson is like "this is the fucking coolest shit ever", even if it adds nothing to the story.
You'd rather have him make movies he didn't give a shit about?
fanboyism damages your view of the film imo. see-- Into Darkness being blatant awful fan pandering cos he's a fanboy and it made the film a turd.
Star Trek Into Darkness felt episodic.. I'm no big trek fan or anything so maybe it's in keeping with the saga as a whole. But good sequels should develop and go further than the initial concept.
i really like the Shatner Star Trek and Wrath of Khan is awesome so it was pretty retarded to see JJ Abrams rip off the far better Star Trek movie in a million ways making an overall worse film that was literally nothing but chucking in references so people in the theatre see it and go "i get it!!" when Spock shouts Khaaan its 100% cringe
why did you see it
Watched superbad last night. It was pretty ok, I don't usually like comedies where all of the laughs come from "look an booby" "penis!" "cock! HAHA! SEX!!!" and even though it had a lot of it, it still managed to be a good enough movie. Not some huge comedic masterpiece like a lot of people portray it but still pretty good, I suppose. 7.5/10
superbad actually puts some effort in the jokes, unlike almost every college american pie rip off and other similar movies.
I saw superbad for the first time in years not too long ago and I found it to be pretty unfunny.
Pulp Fiction 10/10 This will never not be my favorite movie
Fun story concerning one of my mates. Some mutual friends of ours were planning to come over to his house and he said 'only if you've seen Pulp Fiction' as a bit of a joke. For reference, most of these people were more of a 'brainless movie' type of guys. When everyone came in, we spent 45 minutes discussing our favorite moments, quoting bits, what may or may not be in the suitcase, who gave the best performance. It was kind of insane, I really didn't expect that. Also, movie confession time, I've never seen Reservoir Dogs. Yes, I do plan to correct that soon.
Pulp Fiction is literally one of the most famous movies of all time just about everyone has seen it lol its nbd whatsoever
That's what I thought too but before then, only one of them had apparently seen it.
Just saw Captain America: Winter Soldier. Solid film, liked it a lot. Some cool references to the comics (I noticed one reference to Civil War which I don't think most people will even notice because it's so subtle: [sp]when Maria Hill saves Cap and Nat from the back of the Shield truck, it's almost exactly like when Cap and Luke Cage save some of the other heroes from the back of a Shield truck, down to the same type of handcuffs being used, and the exact same Shield uniform as the one in the comic, the sort of riot-police looking thing[/sp]), a very cool story that is barely touched upon in the trailers, and just generally really good. Waaay better than the first CA film, and probably the best sequel to a Marvel film based in the current film universe.
