You compare the demo game to the real game that isn't even released
Doesn't that same game have a scene[sp]where they take a bomb out of Paz's guts with no anesthesia?[/sp]

Since it's just a glorified demo I think it's safe to assume the main game will be the same.
Year of Living Dangerously
hidden gem homie.
Fantastic performance by Linda Hunt, she plays a dwarf male photographer/journalist and the story concerns the political conflicts that occurred in Indonesia during the 60s.
It's Mel Gibson before he was ever Mel Gibson and it's definitely worthwhile. Has that unique atmosphere of an 80s film that fills a good late hour of the night.
Some may find the romantic situations a bit cliche'd but I find it unique all because of Linda Hunt's character. She twists the film into something completely different because I never found myself questioning genders or whatever might hinder the fact they chose a woman to play that. My attention was only focused on character and it shone right through, and all the way through. Same director as Truman Show, Witness, Master and Commander..

Yes and it is one of the most gruesome scenes in a video game, I couldn't watch of how disturbing it was
Captain America:The Winter Soldier - 7/10
I was actually genuinely surprised by the film since I'd kind of unintentionally kept myself in the dark about it. I enjoyed the fact that it almost ran into political thriller territory rather than being a plain superhero film like the first one. That and the humour didn't feel like it was being shoved down my throat like in the last Thor film, but I felt the fight scenes dragged.
All About Eve
9/10
One of those really long movies that's just actors acting at each other with brilliant dialogue.
It has some of the best one-liners.
Stitches - 7/10
For an Irish movie this wasn't half bad, I thought the special effects were pretty good. It's great to see something not using CG.
Wishmaster - 8/10
I liked this a lot more than I thought I would, the effects were amazing and having Robert Englund playing a rich collector was pretty cool.
Master of Disguise - 2/10
This movie sucks, do not ever watch it.
Kill List
4/10
Y'know just because you wrote that really dark script back in highschool doesn't mean you gotta film it in your 30's
Kill list was fantastic tho
[editline]8th April 2014[/editline]
8/10 imo

I'd say kill list is one of the only legitimately good horror/dread films that's come out in a decade or so
I dunno, I've always had problems suspending my disbelief with those kinda movies. Not to mention I found the characters completely uninteresting, the camerawork shoddy, the effects awful, and the pacing off. It felt like there wasn't a world outside of these peoples lives, if that makes sense. It was very empty.
I also watched Resolution, which is a good companion piece to Kill List, that I think executes on the same basic formula better than Kill List did, but suffers from probably the stupidest decisions ever made by horror movie characters. They were fun, and you were rooting for them, but their actions and motivations were so outrageous it was hard to even sympathize until near the end when shit started popping off.
But even then, the execution of how it all panned out felt very amateur. The twist ending was in the same vein as one of my favorite horror movies, [sp]Cabin In The Woods,[/sp] but that film handled it with way more tact.
Both this and Kill List had major flaws. Kill Lists cinematography was boring and shaky, the characters were unlikable and bland, the plot twist at the end was fuckin' stupid. Resolution gave me characters that were likeable, a twist scenario that didn't leave me with a bad taste in my mouth, but also suffered from pacing issues, awful character motivation, awful visual effects, and some of the most abhorrent "Are you really expecting me to believe this shit" moments I've seen in a film in years.
I'd give Resolution a 5.5/10.
Prometheus 5/10 fuck you Damon Lindelof
Kill list wasn't even a twist it was well foreshadowed and you knew it was going that way it was just a well built, clever genre-blending payoff.

Yes, it's hammered home pretty fuckin' early (like, the first 15 minutes) that shit's not exactly what you expect it to be. I think [sp] a cult of twig-face people who scream like videogame enemies[/sp] wasn't a reveal I would go "oh yeah, of course" at, but it was the thumbnail on Netflix, so I kinda knew what was coming. :v:
But the twist I was referring to was [sp]Oh no! The hunchback was my wife and kid![/sp] Maybe after watching [sp]A Serbian Film[/sp] that kinda thing doesn't hit me hard, I just found it dumb. I thought the [sp]cult[/sp] idea could have been executed better, and I think a lot of the build up could have been tightened.
Captain America 2, 7.2/10
Well my luck of having good films to watch at the cinema ran out. This one is just average like its predecessor, nothing really stands out from this film in my head. I am so glad I didn't see this for my birthday last Friday.
Moon 8/10 Sam Rockwell's bare ass made this awkward to watch with my mom
Dunno where to ask this: What do you guys consider is the best Wes Anderson film?
Moonrise Kingdom, but I still haven't seen Grand Budapest Hotel.
Dunno where to ask this: What do you guys consider is the best Wes Anderson film?
i've only seen life aquatic, and generally have no interest in seeing anything else he's done except moonrise kingdom, royal tennenbaums and fantastic mr. fox.
Dunno where to ask this: What do you guys consider is the best Wes Anderson film?
his new one.
but he's been thoroughly consistent throughout his career.
Grab Royal Tenanbaums and Bottle Rocket for a starter then make your way through the rest if you like it.
Maybe moonrise kingdom. Maybe Rushmore. Maybe grand Budapest. Maybe Steve zissou. Honestly they are all just fantastic. If you're interested in his stuff go chronologically I'd say (although his first film, Bottle Rocket, was before he really developed his signature style) but he's super consistent and he's the kind of filmmaker where any film is a legit and understandable favourite- it's all down to preference imo
wes is the only director where I really cannot be arsed to pick a favourite film.
Inside Llewyn Davis
5/5
Beautiful movie.
RoboCop (1987)
Great, fun action movie with amazing effects, thrilling action, and wonderful satire. The plot is believable and feels like it could actually happen (a big corporation taking over Detroit, not the robots). If this movie was by anybody other than Verhoeven, I don't think it would have worked as well. The little newscasts and commercials that intersperse the normal movie are fun. ED-209 has an awesome design, and the stop-motion on it is just amazing. The blood effects are great and once again prove that practical effects are 99.9% of the time cooler than CGI. Peter Weller was a great candidate for playing Murphy, he just has the right face and voice. I'd probably put Dick Jones up towards the top of my list of movie villains. Overall, I'd buy that for a dollar.
Jack Reacher
Enjoyed it all the way through. Slight cheese here and there, but in no way did it really detract from the overall experience.
One of the better car chase scenes I've witnessed so far
Brilliant film, if you're into conspiracy/action films this is one to watch right away
Escape Plan
Truly not bad m8.
This is somewhat of a landmark in terms of Hehr Schwarzy films because... believe it or not.. he actually fucking speaks his language for the first time in his career. Really? Only now they realise this?
Anyway, it's got a good calibre within the story, surprises me this kind of thing wasn't done before. They could have made it more intriguing and technical but then the attention spans would have dropped for arnolders.
That being said, it's slightly above the consensus ratings or they got it right, quite decent.

ur just dumb sorry
kill list is the best British horror film made in the past 10 years and i would say that Wheatley is probably one of the best British directors working today
captain america return of bucky
i liked it. it was nice. it was a solid and enjoyable, albeit forgettable, addition to the marvel franchise.
i'd recommend it as a fun night out, but not as a great movie. it's a servicable movie that does what it sets out to do without being a piece of shit, and sometimes that's all you want.
there was competency and a little bit of love behind it. it has a good script, it flows well, the action is pretty nice, and I figure from reading that, you already know exactly what to expect.
one critisism, other than it being just good and not anything more, is that the ending dragged on longer than it had to.
noah
still not sure how i feel about it. i can't vouch for it's biblical accuracy, as i haven't read the original story, but assuming it's accurate, man. the bible is pretty fucked up and god is kind of a shitty dude. but apart from that, purely on a fantasy story basis - which i believe is how it's supposed to (and should) be taken, it was interesting. it's one of those movies that will have many interpretations of what the movie was actually trying to say. just setting that aside, I liked how dark it got. i really liked how noah, nearing the end, became the more of the villain of his own film. because in the end, he is both the protagonist and the antagonist. you grow to love his family through him, and find yourself on their side when noah starts to 'put the mission first'. there was an evil king, but at the end of the day, he was all about faith in mankind and choosing your own destiny, wheras noah was the devout believer willing to do atrocious things to accomplish a goal. if the king wasn't atop such a brutal society, everyone would be on his side (minus the christians in the audience maybe?).
at the very least, it gives you a lot of things to talk about, so it's worth your time.
but as a whole, i feel there wasn't enough to write home about. it just didn't do a whole lot for me. other than some philosophical ideas, there just wasn't enough interesting things on-screen.
i sort of felt the same way about black swan, there just wasn't enough to it. but I enjoyed that more because i love a good psychological thriller
whatever i still can't decide. it was good i guess? i don't know
