I love the Super Mario Brothers movie, even though its cheesy, it's my cheesy goodness
On the topic of musicals, if any of you have the chance to see Billy Elliot on Broadway, do it. Definitely one of my favorite shows, and The Angry Dance makes up for however much you have to pay to get in.
You probably haven't seen the good musicals, yet. I'm speaking about these meant for adults, performed by real actors/singers. I was skeptical of musicals too, but when I saw West End version of Les Miserables and I was blown away.
isn't les miserables more of a theatrical piece (or at least in that style) though? seems a lot more bearable
Interview with the Vampire - Tom Cruise/10 Hancock - 6/10
Enchanted 10/10 When Harry Met Sally... 7/10 Big 10/10
Enchanted 10/10 When Harry Met Sally... 7/10 Big 10/10
You watched When Harry Met Sally yesterday And Big yesterday What are you even doing with your time
isn't les miserables more of a theatrical piece (or at least in that style) though? seems a lot more bearable
operetta, as most of the dialogue is sung and the show generally moves from piece to piece.
Anchorman 2 - DNF/10 the first one was alright, this one just, ugh. I feel like I dropped my brain, kicked it around like a ball, after watching nearly an hour of it.
When we're at the topic of musicals - today is a Palm Sunday, a perfect opportunity to rewatch or get familiar with Jesus Christ Superstar, one of the best modern musicals (or actually a rock opera of some kind) there is, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom of the Opera, Cats) and libretto by Tim Rice (The Lion King). It's actually great, if you're not butthurt about this interpretation of Passion of the Christ.
What then to do about this Jesus-mania? How do we deal with a carpenter king? Where do we start with a man who is bigger Than John was when John did his baptism thing.
It's fun to watch right after Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ :v:
What are you even doing with your time
Well, that was from Christmas long before I got on Facepunch. The Pirates! Band Of Misfits 9/10 The Adventures of Tintin 2011 10/10
The LEGO Movie 0/10 I am almost literally the bad guy in this film and I don't care what anyone says, [sp]no-one messes with MY perfectly organised stuff[/sp]. It's like Toy Story only shit. Also it wasted LEGO Wonder Woman and LEGO Superman.
the raid 2 8/10 holy shit go watch this film. little saggy in the middle but my god if it wont have you sitting on the edge of your seat
Just back from seeing this. hammer girl/10 But yeah if you've seen and enjoyed the first this gives you everything you expected and more.
the hammer girl train sequence was superb god damn
thx for the spoiler.
I dunno what would be considered a spoiler? That girl's been in every trailer I've seen
i haven't seen a trailer for raid 2 yet then again i've only seen like the first half hour of the first film. also, got bored and watched 7/10 certainly in following the wake of hunt for red october (and the recasting of jack ryan) this movie had some ups and downs on its predecessor, but that isn't a bad thing necessarily, i just prefer clear and present danger as far as the ford films go. also, i thought you had to be a natural resident of the united kingdom/england/great britain/all that shit in order to receive knighthood.
Taxi Driver 9/10 I liked it a lot, however the ending was a bit strange in my opinion
Snowpiercer 2/10 Just bad.

The Wind Rises Liked it a lot. The soundscapes in particular were brilliant. Definitely up there with the other Miyazaki greats.
The Wind Rises Liked it a lot. The soundscapes in particular were brilliant. Definitely up there with the other Miyazaki greats.
glad he went out on a high note. [editline]14th April 2014[/editline]
I dunno what would be considered a spoiler? That girl's been in every trailer I've seen
meh I don't watch trailers, it only just got released.. that's why it's a spoiler. You may as well include every scene and leave nothing as a surprise.
explain? [editline]14th April 2014[/editline] Because the movie is really good you know.
It really isn't at all, this movie is the worst thing I've ever seen. A prime example of bad dystopian movies. There's a lot I could say but I'll try to keep it short. Besides having the dumbest plot ever conceived, I mean, them getting on a train made them the only survivors of the apocalypse? Yeah okay. So is it ever explained why they can't just stop the train? Or why they never bothered to see if things were getting better outside? Why did they bother letting the poor people on the train in the first place if they were just going to keep them prisoner? If they really wanted the revolution to end in the tunnel, why didn't they just use their guns then? I couldn't care less about any of the characters either, british accent guy dies, then Curtis gives a long monologue at the very end of the movie to explain why I should give shit. Not to mention stupid scenes like the shootout between Curtis and the blonde guy from across the train in a blizzard and the scene where everyone stops fighting to say happy new year, or what about when they all stop to eat sushi for 5 minutes. What about the things that aren't even explained at all? Like the kids that just ignore Curtis at the end of the movie, or why the asian girl seems to have psychic powers.
