Barbershop 2: Back in Business: 5/10 (in the Rusty Normalized Rating.)
my presence lives on, even when my posting here has dwindled (because i keep forgetting it exists because its not high enough on the forum roster)
Adams Apples (2005) Danish film about a neo Nazi who gets released into the hands of an eccentric reverend who has some problems of his own and some rather unusual methods of rehabilitating his guests. Theres a good few oddballs in the film which makes the dialog between the characters random yet interesting. The whole lot is filmed in about 3 locations and theres not a large cast but the way the two main characters react with each other is a joy to watch. Fans of the Pusher films will recognise Mads Mikkelsen, especially from the second part of the trilogy and what also comes across is his command of a role somewhat different from those he's done under Refn. Over all this is quite a simple little film with some nice touches and a well spent 90 or so minutes. This isn't going to blow your tits off but will take you out of the mundane world for the duration and keep you well entertained. Very good film.
Something Wild (the 80s) 2/10 I really liked this movie. It looks like a typical manic-pixie-dream-girl romance-comedy - and it sure is set up like one - but the movie's smart enough to have a lot of surprises along the way, one of which includes Ray Liotta who's very good as the villain. Also, great soundtrack. Also surprise guest appearances from The Feelies and John Waters!
eXistenZ 10/10 Great mindfuck of a movie. I watched it a few years ago but I've forgotten how good it is.
A Scanner Darkly - 4/5 Haunting and mindbending. Beautiful rotoscope-animation.

Boy Wonder Went in expecting a load of shit and got genuinely surprised and because of that I'm not sure what to rate it, but it was definitely good.
That's my boy 8.5/10 One of Sandlers best movies since Click
Cape Fear - 8.5/10. (Martin Scorsese version)
Do you mean Wonder Boys? I hate that movie
Woops. It's called Boy Wonder.
The Puffy Chair - 6/10
Star Trek Into Darkness - 7/10 I have never seen the TV show or the old movies (only the 2009 movie which I liked very much) and I liked this one a lot too, but there were a few scenes that made me lower my rating a bit. The worst offender was the scene where Kirk went into the radiation chamber. It felt like the 5th time someone told Kirk that something was too dangerous and he mustn't do it, but obviously it wasn't dangerous at all because as the main character he's sadly immortal which removes a lot of emotions and suspense. When Kirk was "dying" and he and Spock had this super long drawn out ~emotional~ scene it was already 100% obvious that he wasn't dying which made the over-the-top emotional scene extremely cringeworthy. The other thing I didn't like about the movie was how I felt it was always portrayed as a bad thing that Spock was mostly acting purely rational and didn't let his decisions be negatively influenced by unrelated feelings. Having him follow rules without compromise also undermines how he is supposed to be highly intelligent and rational. There are many rules that should be broken in certain situations, because rules are never 100% perfect and that situation might not have been taken into account when creating that rule. What I would also have liked, but didn't influence my rating (because it wouldn't have been Star Trek if it wasn't exclusively about the Star Fleet? I guess??), would have been a few scenes showing normal life in a super advanced utopian society like Star Trek's human civilization. Stuff like that is what makes science fiction so fascinating to me and there aren't enough films that have that. Edit: [sp]Khan[/sp] (the villain) was super amazing though.
Just watched Centurion since I've been super interested in Roman History lately. Good movie, not as good as gladiator to me but they're different types of movies so I can't compare them that much. Gets a 7.5/10 for me. I'd definitely recommend watching it if you're big on history or want a good "chase" movie.
went to the movies and ended up seeing 3 in a row Hannah Arendt - 7.4/10 good drama about a jewish woman who has to write an article about some nazi man who was responsible for the transportation of the jews in WW2. it's filled with old aged actors and even the auditorium i was in was filled with old people kinda weird Fast & Furious 6 - 6.9/10 was actually a pretty decent action movie, also the first F&F movie i've watched liked the ending Star Trek Into Darkness 7.1/10 i dont know if it was because of how tired i was or because i was at the most front row but the movie felt short and a bit aimless also didnt really have any grandé fightings and dangers in it making it feel lot smaller than the first star trek in comparison
Did you only pay for one?
Castle in the Sky 8/10 A great movie and I really enjoyed it, it was much more action oriented than the other Myazaki movies that I watched so far. The setting is amazing and nicely detailed, it's really atmospheric and looks marvelous. The plot itself was pretty neat and interesting. The only thing I really disliked is that all the characters have bad names, Lashita just sounds wrong. Also Laputa is such a silly name for a flying city.
prince of egypt 3+/5 dat animation dat art and the soundtracks is awesome
oh FUCK ME i love that fucking soundtrack so fucking much but obviously the first track is one of the best ones It's just.
Did you only pay for one?
none lol. i love abusing my Unlimited card only payed for 3D glasses
Troy- 9/10 Still love this movie despite its flaws.
Yeah I'm sorry I just can't really watch this movie anymore. It's just such a horrible bastardization of the Illiad and as a Ancient Greek buff it makes me want to puke. You really just can't put that movie up there with other 9/10s.
I just watched the Watchmen Ultimate Cut (3h 35m) What was the point of the pirate comic thing?
tpb afk - it was nice but too short and not very interesting
tpb afk - it was nice but too short and not very interesting
so 9/10?
I just watched the Watchmen Ultimate Cut (3h 35m) What was the point of the pirate comic thing?
It happened in the comic series, and the Ultimate Cut is the most faithful cut to the comic series. IMO, the pirate comic shows a man going to desperate, incredible and appalling lengths to save what he loves from a danger he perceives. This is exactly what happens to [sp]Adrian Veidt[/sp]

The Flowers of War 8/10 Loved it. Touching story of a really fucked up battle. Highly recommend.
Star Trek: The Voyage Home - 8/10 Funny film, though I don't know who got the right idea to make a Star Trek comedy.
Ahh, right. I've just started the comic series so that's good to know. Cheers man.
do not read the prequel comics. only read watchmen.
django unchained - 9/10 this is taking into account that no movie is ever a 10/10... like ever. either way i thought the movie was excellent and subjectively "perfect". actually never mind i just watched nostalgia critic's review. i can see how the same guy made the fall and the cell.... but holy fucking shit the fall was amazing and the cell looks like a giant pile of shit it's also fucking offensive now when they misrepresent schizophrenia and use it in some garble of bullshit techno babble, portray it as a disease or in general ignorantly misrepresent it. it gives it a bad fucking rap and it's fucking annoying. it's like the buzzword for any "this guy is crazy" disorder/disease name.
i'm considering to do an M Night Shyamamnalan marathon, should I do it?
