Began my Shyamalan marathon:
Sixth Sense
Twist rating: 8/10
M. Night Shyamalan cameo rating: 7/10
For a first major film, this is beyond anything you'd expect from a dude in his 20s. Having pretty much single-handedly crafted this film, you have to hand it to shamalambs that he knows what he wants and how to keep things moving. It's become a classic for people, and for me personally.. it's pretty damn good.
Unbreakable
Twist rating: 9/10
M. Night Shyamalan cameo rating: 6/10
Bamalam has really shined with his thematics here. Just like how Shawshank and Green Mile were lifted by the music score, there's something rich in Newton Howard's ability to really drive a film. Second time viewing it and it's a real breath of air. It's somehow a superhero film but plays down this fact with such skill. Very unique and spellbinding.
Signs
Twist rating: 8/10
M. Night Shyamalan cameo rating: 8/10
Here's a shalomalom film where credit needs to be given for performance. The film is probably the first I saw of his, I was quite young and even back then it drove similar feelings to what I felt now. Being that the story is very "out there", even for sci fi because it's not only an alien invasion but rather some kind of personal spiritual journey for the central character in Mel Gibson. When you think through what happens and how certain things lead to Gibson's life and others being better as a result of really surreal consequences, it makes the film more worthwhile than the dumb imdb rating.
After 3 films, each as solid as the last, I can't wait to see what other superb things he's done/doing.
I really think this guy is potentially the next great Hollywood director. Only good things await me while I continue this marathon, I'm sure.

You'll be surprised.
I've been getting to all of the movies on my list now that summer's here.
Evil Dead- 8/10 A great movie, the campiness really helped it.
Evil Dead II- 9/10 Still has all the goriness and camp of the first, and the clearly comedic scenes made this one overall groovy.
Not gonna comment on Army of Darkness because I watched it a long time ago and this is just new films I've seen. Anyway, after watching Evil Dead I pretty much had to watch:
Cabin in the Woods- 8/10 I heard a lot about how awesome this movie was, but nothing could have prepared me for how awesome it truly was. The entire thing was a breath of fresh air, [sp]especially the end, where Marty didn't pull any "sacrifice myself for the greater good" crap, which really set this movie apart from other horror films where characters sacrifice themselves for other characters.[/sp]

Currently I'm watching Ill Manors, and I'll post about that when I'm done.

It's a shame everything after Signs was pretty lame.

Can't wait for you to see The Last Airbender
prepare to get M. Night Shat-upon
After Earth
Steaming pile of shit.
Gonna go see it in a few hours. I hope you're joking.

It's a plot-hole ridden scientologist jerk-off fest with a stupid story/premise and too much CGI. Also Will Smith's son is a terrible actor.

Spoiler tag if you must, but what was the whole Scientology deal with it?
Ill Manors- 7/10
It was a pretty good crime drama. The music by Plan B worked very will with the film, and provided a quick, entertaining way to provide backstory to certain characters and explain situations further. The different stories were all fairly well fleshed out, and as they crossed they made for really tense scenes, some of which were hard to watch.

Which only goes to show that some of Ebert's replacements really suck. One guy gave Star Trek, Gatsby, and Iron Man 3 2.5 out of 4, and he gave After Earth 3.5 out of 4. It's a damn mess.

Iron Man 3 should of got a 2 out of 4
Hangover 3, 6 out 10 i thought it was pretty funny but overall an okay movie
AK'z isn't ready for "The Happening", "The Last Airbender" and "Devil".
I would highly suggest watching "Devil" with a bunch of friends who haven't seen it before. It's one of the modern classic so-bad-it's-good movies for me. Lots of great memories watching it for the first time with my friends.
Except Devil isn't directed by Shyamalan, he's just one of the writers, that's why it's probably the only one I would recommend watching since it isn't terrible and is overall quite fun. I thought it was pretty enjoyable in its cheesiness, has a simple premise and a satisfying ending. Satisfying in the sense that it's acceptable, not like all the other "it was X all along!" endings of his.
Trollhunter - 8/10
Gonna go see it in a few hours. I hope you're joking.
Will Smith's character is called Cypher Raige. Cypher Raige.
Will Smith actually wrote this.
the happening is a fucking amazing film if your idea of amazing is mark wahlberg shouting at plants for 2 hours
Just came back from Now you see me.
Its fucking good. The story was very well written. 8/10
And you have to be pretty good to find out the twist
also, the fucking scene with the lions man - it's amazing
Tucker and Dale vs evil
I really liked it! The trailer does not do it justice. A lot of people said the trailer basically told the whole story, but this movie is so much more than a bunch of kids accidentally killing themselves.
You know those moments in movies when you wish people could just tell someone something and everything would've cleared itself out? Yeah, there's alot of that. But that's the point of the story so i'll let it pass.
7/10
Overall a great movie, highly recommend it!
DragonHeart - 7/10
Another film I loved as a kid. I love the soundtrack as well. I don't know if it was good or bad to have Sean Connery to voice a dragon, but the ending was sad still.

Let my inner child cry
The Truman show - 7/10
It was a good movie, slow to start and pick up the pace. But the ending was satisfying enough, I liked the plot idea a lot.
It wasn't slow at all.
The GoodTimesKid - 7/10
Double indemnity 10/10
I like it just the same as sweet smell of success. I'd like to see more of those snappy dialogues films, they're rare to find though.

I watched the review of After Earth from Spoony which actually takes longer than the movie itself :v: at one point he mentions it and I could stop laughing myself.
Highwaymen - 6/10 .. Didn't expect the quality to be that good. Story was a bit weak though, and the movie lacked in lenght.
Safety Not Guaranteed 9/10
