Sherlock Holmes 4/5 Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows 4/5 Watched these both yesterday and forgot to post.
I wonder what people would think of Michael Bay if he never made the Transformers movies. None of his movies are really that great but I never saw hate on him until Transformers 1 came out.
he would still be regarded as generally one of the worst directors of all time, transformers or not.
He is a pretty good director in a bunch of aspects but his personality is obvious in his films as well as his blatant marketing to his target audience going above integrity and his use of really shit scripts certainly doesn't help him. Dude can great one good looking movie if nothing else. [editline]10th June 2014[/editline] He's hardly one of the worst of all time lol
I wonder what people would think of Michael Bay if he never made the Transformers movies. The problem with Bay is that he puts way too much emphasis on style over substance.
And you should feel bad about it. [editline]10th June 2014[/editline] it's just Micheal Bay looking down on these people going "look how dumb these murderers are its hilarious that this REALLY happened" Fuck Micheal Bay.
I'm sorry, and don't get offended, because I believe people can have opinions, but you seem like you're spouting RLM's review of it. Verbatim. Like that is exactly what they said. It's a cruel film but since when does the source material make a film bad? Did you watch Wolf of Wall Street? It was full of despicable, vile people, and it really happened. It was on an even larger scale. Yet people give this movie shit for doing essentially the same thing, while Bay is obviously working with a less skilled script that Scorsese, I don't know what you're going on about. A film's a film. It has it's funny parts and it does struggle a lot with tone, but it had nice acting and a general "wonky" feel to it that gave it some nice personality. I'm probably a lot less articulate with my arguments than i'd like to be, but it just seems like the arguments against how this movie was not good are misguided. This movie was not great because it struggled with tone. Bay also made some questionable decisions overall, but it remains a film that you will either like or dislike I guess.
Just finished up the new Robocop. It's... alright. I feel kinda stupid for hating on this movie before it came out, but it surprised me. It wasn't as funny or charming as the first one, but I like how they went for their own little story instead of just remaking the original. Cool robot designs, too.
Edge of Tomorrow 4/10

Michael Bay did make 'some' good movies. I think his best movie is The Rock
The Rock is pretty great. [editline]10th June 2014[/editline] But not because of Bay.
The Rock is pretty great. [editline]10th June 2014[/editline] But not because of Bay.
Because of Connery
I wonder what people would think of Michael Bay if he never made the Transformers movies. That's where all the incoherent editing became his trademark. There's a lot to like about that movie but the way he did the action scenes was the worst and he's been doing it like that ever since.
Edge of Tomorrow It was okay, 6/10
Eastern Promises - 9/10 I'm pretty much speechless, it was fucking great. Viggo Mortensen did a very good job at portraying a Russian mobster character, and god damn those tattoos were great, and apparently very realistic http://easternpromises.livejournal.com/47809.html you should definitely see if it you haven't
i need to see that again, haven't watched it in like 2-3 years. i remember it being a particularly gruesome film though
Sherlock Holmes 4/5 Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows 4/5 Watched these both yesterday and forgot to post.
Big fan of both of these films. I thought RDJ and Jude Law work fantastically together as Sherlock and Watson
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure - 7/10 probably one of keanu reeves' best movies honestly but not as good as point break. NOTHING IS BETTER THAN POINT BREAK
I dunno. I think The Matrix comes ahead in that race. [editline]11th June 2014[/editline] Not that Point Break is bad. It's a nice action film. [editline]11th June 2014[/editline] The Matrix is just, you know, better.
SHIT i forgot
X-Men: Days of Future Past 8.5/10 Never seen an X-Men movie before, however my friend filled me in on some basic plot and the movie does well explaining what has happened before. Really enjoyed it.
just watched burn after reading, after having not seen it in a few years god, that movie is a hoot 9/10
just watched Frozen 9.5/10 Honestly, absolutely fantastic. Not just for the kids, but also aimed towards the teens/ adults. It's a very enjoyable and hilarious experience, for all ages. The man that never sleeps
maleficent - 6/10
The Fault in our Stars: 4/10 It was sappy bullshit and I wanted to punch everyone in the face. Even the guy who got crushed by his 46 hundred leather jackets or something. At least I could laugh at my mom who cried.
To Live and Die in LA 4/5 A cool little crime thriller with a kickass car chase. You would expect nothing less from William Friedken, but it's still worth mentioning.
It was sappy bullshit and I wanted to punch everyone in the face. Even the guy who got crushed by his 46 hundred leather jackets or something.
[editline]11th June 2014[/editline] Would you care to elaborate on that one?
I don't know fuck it I'm tired Some guy died He had cancer or somethign But I think because he owned so many FUCKING LEATHER JACKETS LIKE GOD DAMN he got crushed by them one die and dies
