Enemy 84/100 headscratcher of a movie. really good.
You mean this?
That'd be it.
Edge of Tomorrow 8/10 I want to hate it for having Tom Cruise but I can't because it was a lot of fun to watch. Nice and simple story, with good black humour.
Lawless 9/10 Just amazing. From the acting to the story to being set in the best period of American history. An all around great movie. Tom Hardy is a badass!
Edge of Tomorrow 8/10 A super fun and entertaining sci-fi summer flick, it even made me laugh a lot more than most comedy movies! I just wish the ending went a little bit different. It could've been perfect if it cut to the credits when [sp]he was being combined with the Omega's blood[/sp] because it leaves it all up to the viewers interpretation and would be a great thing to talk about with people, a lot like the ending of Inception.
The Raid 2. Solid 9/10. Action was fucking awesome, like damn. I felt that the action scenes could drag a bit sometimes but other than that, it was awesome
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope 4/5 I've had this one on Blu Ray since Christmas and haven't given it a proper watch. Yes, the awful CGI from the 90s is here. I'll admit, some of it looks okay (the occasional shot of the Millennium Falcon), but most of it looks awful, especially everything on Tatooine. You'd think they would put in at least a little effort on that front, but no. As far as the transfer goes, it looks pretty good for the most part, but some shots are less crisp as some others, but that was to be expected.
Check out Star Wars Revisited. It's a fan project that consists in reworking the entirety of the Star Wars franchise, starting with A New Hope (currently the only movie that's finished and available). Everything in the movie has been reworked, rebalanced and corrected to be an actual improvement over the original theatrical release rather than a mess of ill-advised additions and poorly designed reworks. I mean shit, in the DVD collection of the original trilogy (which I own, it's in a really slick box too) they didn't even bother fixing the terribly made light sabers of the first movie, where obiwan's light saber kept changing between blue and pure white from one scene to the next - yet they still added a full blown CG musical scene in of episode VI. Just fucking get a hold of all those changes It's also great because it doesn't just erase stuff from the official re-releases, it simply reutilizes them in a much better way, like for instance it reuses the music from Star Wars III's final duel in IV's fight between Obiwan and Darth Vader instead of plain silence to bring a clearer parallel between the two fights.
Robocop Out of 10. I watched it last night, but I had turned off my laptop and I didn't want to wait 10 minutes to post this. Still a fantastic movie. I'm tempted to watch the remake, but I know I'll just end up thoroughly disappointed. also A Clockwork Orange 4/5 I had a friend who hadn't seen this and we watched it together. Still real horrorshow.

ANHR is fucking awful as far as fan edits go and that guy should be ashamed of ever making the fucking thing. apart from a few color changes, literally almost every edit is asinine. the imperial march when first seeing the death star (despite the death star having its own cues in the film because darth vader isn't meant to be the central villain just yet) battle of the heroes aboard the death star, and many more. i implore anyone who is curious enough to give it a watch, but if you're a real star wars fan you'll have a horrible taste left in your mouth after watching this pile of shit.
Wow there grampa take your chill pills
i just looked through those screenshots and basically what was the point lol
I believe the irony is that he doesn't realize that he's turning into a George Lucas.
The raid 2 - 4/5 + Constant action and cool scenes - Didn't really care for any character. A lot of gangster movies from Korea follow the same theme as this movie but tells the story a lot better. - They used different cameras or something during quick cuts in some fight scenes. Was distracting with the sharpness and tones changing for each quick cut.
So I never watched Back to the Future in my life and finally got around watching it. Back to the Future 9/10 This movie was just so great, it was such an enjoyable experience. Even if it's a bit cliche and got a lot of silly slapstick humor, it's just really awesome. Marty and the Doc are just such cool characters. Overall I really loved it and it was quite funny. Awesome story with loveables characters that still holds up incredibly today. Back to the Future II 6/10 This movie was quite weird compared to the first one. Man that sci-fi part was really strange and absolutely nuts, but I liked that quite a lot. The story was far more complex when it came to time traveling, which was kind of cool but overall I think that the sequel is a lot weaker in many aspects. To me it seems like the movie really wants to build upon the success of the first movie. The whole scene where they went back to the dance event was neat at first but they showed so many cuts of the first movie and they really felt forced at some point. I wished they would have gone with a different idea, personally I think it was less memorable but more quirky. First one was definitely better.
Blue Is the Warmest Color (2013) 86/100 Beautiful.
If Blue is the Warmest Color can't get a 100/100 rating from you, then what can?
still need to see Blue is the Warmest Colour at some point gosh why are there so many films, I don't have enough time to watch them all. filmmakers are so inconsiderate, they should just stop until I've caught up~
I have the Criterion edition. It's dirt cheap, too, considering how much they usually charge.
I was gonna buy the criterion of it when they had that massive sale a couple months ago but then I learnt they only ship to the US (had never tried to buy from them before)
I don't even know how many criterion collection movies are in my collection. The only ones off the top of my head are Dodes'ka-den, Seven Samurai, and Ran. There might be more, who knows
Billy Cyrstal: 700 Sundays 8/10 A one-man-show by my boy B Crystal. It's sort of a movie, I guess? It was almost 2 hours, so I'll call it one. We're all livin' the human condition, but my boy Crystal's speakin' it. Entertaining and soulful the entire time. It even does all those things unique to one-man-shows that everyone makes fun of, but it never comes off as cheesy BS. I've never worked as long and as hard as this dude does.
If Blue is the Warmest Color can't get a 100/100 rating from you, then what can?
weeeell, i dont know. i've yet to see. [editline]24th June 2014[/editline] if we were rating stars I would give it 5/5 but with a 100 point scale it's more close to 90/100 [editline]24th June 2014[/editline] and anything above 85/100 is really, really, really good from me 100/100 is perfect, obviously. 90/100 is superb
100/100 is perfect, obviously
yeah but perfection makes no sense. I think when a movie really moves you and has a personally lasting effect for you then it hits that top mark. Essentially ratings are BS but if I were to stick movies into the 100/100 it'd be things like Ikiru or Baraka. Which aren't necessarily gonna have lasting effects for everyone but I could talk for days about them. :)
ip man - 8/10

Atonement - 7/10 It was ok. Some parts that felt rather slow. That long take is beautiful though:
\Marty and the Doc are just such cool characters. Overall I really loved it and it was quite funny. Awesome story with loveables characters that still holds up incredibly today.
Doc and Marty (both individually and as a double act) are two of my favorite fictional characters. Michael J. Fox is so likeable and effortlessly cool as Marty, and Christopher Lloyd's wild-eyed, frenetic, and verbose Doc is endlessly entertaining. Plus they're both constantly pulling hilarious reaction faces. I hope you check out Part III - it's a lot slower and simpler than the second one, and it's a nice and sweet conclusion to the series.
Syriana - 8/10. Rough ending, depressing that a lot of that stuff happens probably a lot more often than we might think. I liked Matt Damon's character too, was happy [sp]when he narrowly survived.[/sp]

Like you said, characters are just so likeable. I really liked Georges in the first movie as well.
The Game 5/5 Perhaps the twistiest thriller I've seen since Memento. If you haven't heard of this movie, don't look into it, just watch it. You won't be disappointed. Michael Douglas and Sean Penn are great.
