Speaking of the Oldboy remake
3/10
mainly watched it to see how much tamer it'd be and to see how they'd mess up the hallway fight. I wasn't disappoined (by that I mean I was but I was expecting it so I wasn't).i just didn't really see any reason to make it. it just felt so pointless.
however i am glad that Shazam® (from the app store) was able to play an integral role in the film's plot
The positives: I expected lots of tits and gore. I saw tits and gore. David Hasselhoff was pretty funny.
The negatives: Literally everything else was shit. The acting, the story, the characters, the special effects, the comedy.
It was terrible, don't watch. 2/10
It's one of those movies you go into expecting nothing, and it certianly delivers. It's hilariously bad.
It's like Cabin Fever: Spring Fever, or Dread.
I have a mighty craving for watching The White Ribbon again, I'm going to go get it.

The trailer made it look kinda decent to me. It wasn't. It was awful.
Watching Grave of the Fireflies for the first time tonight because my girlfriend suggested it.
Mentally preparing myself for what's apparently the saddest animated film of all time.
Saddest I don't know, but sure, it's no comedy.
it wasn't sad like "fuck i feel like crying" but more like "fuck, now I'm depressed".

Watched this on Netflix last night. I would really recommend it.
The movie follows Archie creating a school project that chronicles his suicide. I was about to turn it off after the first thirty minutes or so because I couldn't stand the obnoxious editing and sound effects. It makes sense for the film though, since Archie did edit everything we saw at the beginning. But once you get past all of that, the film really takes off. It becomes very dark and emotional, which works because the acting is great! There were a couple of moments where I got goosebumps. I can really relate to the Sierra character. I've been in the same situation as her, and the actress really pulls it off. The music choices for this were perfect. I shazamed all the songs I didn't know.
Really great movie. 9/10
I recently watched Sin City and I would honestly rate it a 10/10
I don't know whether it inspired me as a wannabe comic artist or just the tone and setting where so great but I just loved every minute.
The first time the credits played 40 minutes in I was really disappointing as I was really getting into it then the next story started and I've never been so happy.
I cannot wait for the sequel to come out

Which is the old one and which is the new one? I just saw one of them today and it was good; the only problem I had with it was the weird twists.
Clue: 7/10
I have no idea why this movie exists but I'm not complaining

Which is the older movie, you mean? The Korean version.
Cool. I watched the Korean one. I give it a 4/5. Subtracted a point because the twist was just so weird and cruel.

i liked the art style and the noir feel, but the story and everything was really messed up
i dont think they shouldve tried mashing like 5 graphic novels into 1 movie
idk I thought they made it all work amazingly. The film is far better than it should have been just going by its style and concept but they really pulled it off.
i dont think it was as good as it shouldve been at all
been meaning to see that Hunter film with Dafoe, supposed to be good yet noone's seen it.
I saw that actually, don't think I wrote about it here. Good film, looks beautiful. Original and subtle drama with a great concept and a couple really powerful moments. Dafoe is great in it too.

Reckon you would like it. It's on netflix.
I also watched five muppet movies consecutively.
Muppet Treasure Island
5/5
Just as good as when I saw it last over a decade ago. Comedy was great, songs were great, Tim Curry was great; Go watch it.
The Muppet Christmas Charol
5/5
Same as above, except replace Tim Curry with Michael Cane.
The Muppet Movie(1979), The Muppets Take Manhattan, The Great Muppet Caper
3.9/5
I don't know. Compared to the other two, these movies seemed a bit boring. Sure, they had a whole bunch of celebrity cameos and such, but it just wasn't as memorable, but I don't know why.

Try watching extended recut edition, where all stories are edited in a closed way.
Journey to the West: Conquering Demons
5/5
Second Steven Chow movie I've seen (The first being Kung Fu Hustle) and I enjoyed the over-the-top action blended in with the right amount of comedy just as much as I did with KFH. The CGI could have been a lot better, but I doubt improving it would have made the movie better; It may even make it worse, seeing as realism just wouldn't fit.
Also I doubt you could make a climax of a movie more extreme than what they did in this one.

maybe ill try that sometime
Day of the Dead - 8/10
Wow, it's so different from today's stuff. Rhodes acting is insane, and he was such a huge bitch!
The music was just incredible, love that 80's stuff. Amazing puppet work, love that gory stuff.
Some zombie acting was just terrible, breaks the mood, but overall.. damn this is great.
[sp]Rhodes getting shot by the zombie was just so feelgood, and that salute![/sp]

When the one guy [sp]has his head ripped off and his vocal chords go all high pitched[/sp], I cringe every time.
I just watched the ocean's trilogy and I'm too lazy to do 3 reviews so here's a blanket review: they're all really good
I should get around to watching the original ocean's eleven too
been meaning to see that Hunter film with Dafoe, supposed to be good yet noone's seen it.
i've seen it
it's fine
nothing amazing but i enjoyed it
Mud---9/10
Really enjoyed it but it kinda lacked in the music department, although it had a really nice tone throughout the movie.
about to watch The Purge with a lady friend and this is the dumbest idea for a movie I can think of, it just doesn't make any fucking sense
The Purge is one of the most offensively terrible films I've ever seen
it makes me really sad that ethan hawke does such terrible movies now
