World War Z is getting decent reviews.
I guess if you accept that it has absolutely nothing to do with the book and move on it could be a decent movie
Lol that article you posted in SH is bringing in quite the Superman hate train. Ah it's not your fault anyway. Hopefully you'll enjoy this movie.
I don't hate Superman, I like the one with Chris Reeves (except 2 (not counting the Richard Donner cut) 3 and 4). The film just seemed very interesting and I was confused why it got average reviews.
who gives a fuck, it's not even been out a day and you're already posting dumb assumptions and articles without seeing it yourself..

What assumptions? I have not been assuming anything, just looking at the reviews. I don't have high expectations on what I am gonna see soon, but doesn't mean I have been posting assumptions about anything. The film just seemed hyped enough for praise, but I was surprised that it was receiving mediocre reviews (reason why I posted the article in SH). Like I said in my earlier post, I'll have to see it to believe it
Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory 9.5/10
I love how creepy and dark this movie is.

How coincidental, I just watched this today
Blade Runner 10/10
I've seen it before, but this is my first time watching it all the way through and not drunk. Much better movie sober.
I had been meaning to watch Oldboy for years but kept putting it off as I got into a TV show phase for like the past 2 years. Only catching up on films now. Really need some recommendations of films to watch. For somebody who wants to be a film director I really haven't watched that many films.
Also [sp]I was confused as to the gold tooth guy all along, it was only after reading online after the film that I realized it was the guy who was watching the cameras in the prison place. Dumb I know. But yeah I was fairly confused as to the whole hand situation too. Should rewatch it and see if I notice it[/sp]
Anybody have a recommendation for a film I should watch next that will blow me away
here are some of the not so obvious ones: Mr. Nobody, 12 angry men, Dial M for murder. Also if you're planning on becoming a film director I highly suggest the documentary "the pervert's guide to cinema" it's an interesting social commentary on the style of different directors. Just make sure you watch a bunch of david lynch and Hitchcock films beforehand to avoid spoilers.
Man of Steel: 8/10
Very pleasant surprise. Could have done with a little more character development but it was very well done overall. Some great cinematography and acting and it's an interesting new take on Superman's character.

I dunno why the theatrical version of Superman 2 is ignored so much. Yeah it has its problems due to Lester and executive meddling but it still works as a movie. Besides, the ultimate ending for Superman 2 was a lot better in the Lester version and it gave us a great performance from both Kidder and Reeve. However, I still wish they got rid of the weird ass powers Superman and the bad guys had in this movie. Also they should've kept the scenes with Marlon Brando, they were brilliant, the scene where it confirms the evil Kryptonians are alive and arrested and the scene where Superman destroys the Fortress of Solitude.
Still, they should never have kicked off Donner in the first place. That was a death sentence for the franchise.
the theatrical supes 2 is what I watched as a kid and it's stupendously good.
Donner cut, albeit worthwhile was still not quite a final cut.

I know, the Donner cut felt so damn sloppy at times even though it had parts I really liked. Still, Superman the Movie is better than both of them to me.
Decided to watch all the Miyazaki films this summer, got to Princess Mononoke today.
10/10. Absolutely loved it, animation is incredible as always and the plot is probably my favorite of all the Miyazaki films I've seen so far.

5/10. The movie was alright. It got really weird near the end. The people were a bit stupid. The writer obviously wanted to set the entire story with them being trapped, when there could have definitely been a strategy to get out. [sp]Kill the other people in the labs, take their suits, escape through the toilet just like the girl ended up doing.[/sp]
Man of Steel 8.5/10
Not quite on par with Nolan's Batman films, but comes pretty damn close. Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon were excellent. Wasn't a big fan of all the massive destruction, but it wasn't a big deal.
Just watched Jiro dreams of Sushi.
9/10
Its food porn at its best
Warrior: 10/10
Watch this with your brothers if you have any for major feels.
x-men: 3/5 , its alright
x-men 2: 2/5 , meh, not impressed
x-men last stand: 3/5 , best of the trilogy
x-men first class: 4/5 , a darn good movie, far better then the trilogy.
life of brian: 4/5 , awesome, i hope holy grail is just as funny
blazzing sadels: 3+/5 , not as funny as life of brian, but it's good none the less
Wait, you thought X-Men The Last Stand was the best of the trilogy? How?
Shame: 9/10
It was very good (and sad ;_;) but I felt it could have ended sooner. There were like 3 places I thought it was about to end before it did. [sp]I feel like it might have been better if it had ended with Brandon having sex with the two women while his sister calls[/sp]
[editline]15th June 2013[/editline]
Still, overall, very powerful
Wait, you thought X-Men The Last Stand was the best of the trilogy? How?
Heroes were dying, more emiotional, magneto were a bad guy (I saw him more as a anti-villian in the others) and finaly badass.
compare to the others, shit was happening.
It have big problems and flaws, don't take me wrong. But it's this one I got most into, except for first class.
Stranger Than Fiction 8/10
aside from a few hollywood cliches, it's quite a pleasant, heart warming film with great acting and story. I also loved the overall style and photography, it had a nice touch to it that really added to the experience. The colours, the slow camera movements, I don't know exacly what but it was really fitting.

yes i loved the colors in that movie
Man of Steel
Take a shot every time you see a snap-zoom. Take a shot every time a loud/unfitting sound effect happens. Keep your ears open for the Wilhelm scream. Take a shot every time something happens that kills thousands of people and nobody even acknowledges it.
Russel Crowe was the best actor in this movie. Russel fucking Crowe. Seriously the acting sucked.
Mildly entertaining/10
The Day After Tomorrow
7.5/10
Better then 2012
Ironically made by the same man.
That isn't ironic at all.
*thinks about it*
Okay, it's not ironic. But they are made by the same guy.
Stalker: 9/10.
Probably the best use of sound in a film, [sp] the meat grinder tunnel scene is probably the most intense scene because you feel like something terrible will happen with the use of the loud and creepy atmosphere.[/sp]
Overall, it's a great slow-paced masterpiece that is also one of my favourite films ever.
