for those inquiring about the "for you" bit tom hardy did an ama only a few months ago and stated that the line is "it would be extremely painful for you" but his delivery meant "i'm a big guy for you" end of discussion.
he didnt write it though so
Hercules- 6-7/10 Legend of Hercules- just watch Hercules.
for those inquiring about the "for you" bit tom hardy did an ama only a few months ago and stated that the line is "it would be extremely painful for you" but his delivery meant "i'm a big guy for you" end of discussion.
so the line isn't right and Nolan fucked up by not directing Hardy properly
he didnt write it though so
it's pretty fuckin obvious though
The Room... I don't really know what to say about this. Awkward, gratuitous, overly long sex scenes... Hilariously bad acting... Doesn't make much sense overall. 8/10 it's okay.
tdkr is getting too much hate in this thread. yeah te script is weak and at times odd but nolan still elevates it into a super captivating movie. don't tell me that movie didn't enthrall you when you saw it in the cinemas.
Bane's death scene was the most anti climatic villain death in history, it was a terrible idea to write that in the script. Who thought of it? You'd expect Bane to die after Batman beat the shit, but no they have to put in some stupid scene and dialogue
bane was definitely a memorable character imo it's not because they used him so much, either. theres just some really iconic thing about him that i cant put my finger on
The only thing i didnt like was Bales batman voice was waaaaaay over the top in tdkr
fuck tdkr you guys seen the trailer for 50 Shades of Grey
I don't get what's with people and that exchange in TDKR. I thought it was pretty immediately obvious what was being said. It's not very natural dialogue but it's not really tough to comprehend. It was only recently that I learned anyone had an issue with it.
basically it's somewhat of a joke. it's a joke for three reasons. a) everyone knows what the line meant, it's just poking fun at the delivery b) when you watch it back listening for the way it's delivered, it genuinely does sound like Bane is telling the CIA guy that he's a big guy for him. Hardy apparently delivered it that way on purpose according to the reddit AMA he did. c) it serves as an intro to the terrible script that TDKR has [editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
Bane's death scene was the most anti climatic villain death in history, it was a terrible idea to write that in the script. any movie with michael cain in it is at least ok in my book

hey how but u finger my asshole dickhead shit
I'm planning to see Akira soon - which version should I see? There's the subtitles and also the two dubbed versions... I've watched a couple movies with subtitles, but always live-action ones. The Raid and Dabaang 2 are the only movies I watched with subtitles. The Raid was pretty easy for me, because even though I don't speak Japanese it was an action movie so scenes were either mostly dialogue or entirely action. Sort of similar with Dabaang 2, although that was a musical and had more conversation I was still able to keep up. I also watched Breaking Bad, but I speak some Spanish so I was able to understand some of the dialogue and read the subtitles for help. Also I've seen the Lord of the Rings movies. Ironically, subtitles annoy me because I read so quickly I finish the words long before the actor does, so I lose some of the pacing and delivery. When I watch anime, I watch it dubbed. The few anime I've watched are very visual eye-candy (Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, Space Dandy) and I'm an animation junkie so being able to focus entirely on the visuals rather than also reading is a big incentive. From what I understand, Akira is also very, very visual so I'm loath to watch it subbed. But apparently there are two separate dubs - which one is better? [editline]wup[/editline] apologies if this is the wrong thread but I didn't see a 'movie recommendations' one
watch an english dub over a foreign film if you want to ruin everything
Blade uphill ice skating/10
i thought that tdkr wasn't that bad [sp]but talia's death was simply hilarious to me[/sp] http://i.imgur.com/MvVbCPI.gif it's like a cartoon or something i half-expected a "blegh" sound effect
so I saw Salt and Contagion unfortunately I left my brain turned on while watching Salt so I saw it for what it was: a massive pile of shit which left me swearing at the television every five minutes over how badly written the script was Contagion was pretty good, although I watched it straight after Salt so I don't know if I think it's good because it's like, genuinely good, or because it's relatively okay compared to Salt. I think it's the former but y'never know. nah but it was pretty neat
Apes 2 9/10. Gets a point off for the slightly underdeveloped human characters. Easily my favorite movie of the year though.
Never saw the first one, but this one was pretty good. I was actually disappointed that there wasn't more at the end. :v:

Grand Budapest Hotel First 10/10 I've seen in a looooong time
don't tell me that movie didn't enthrall you when you saw it in the cinemas.
IMAX cameras only do so much for me... after Baraka I think even then they'd step up the plate but have yet to see a more good looking film. Third movies are always hard to do, but it made the first two weaker for me. :(

[editline]wup[/editline] apologies if this is the wrong thread but I didn't see a 'movie recommendations' one
Watching your animes with dubs and not subs? What are you, some kind of pleb?
Corndog Ninja, I love Princess Mononoke and will often watch it dubbed because the dub for it is fine, and I also like to focus on the animation. Yesterday I watched Akira subbed after listening to a bit of the English dub and not liking it at all and found that the subs weren't very distracting from the animation. Most of the shots with amazing animation either have no dialogue or very little.
Anime is literally the only place I see people get really heated in arguments over whether subs or dubs are better.
I can understand not wanting a dub for a live action film because it's basically guaranteeing that every performance is gonna be handicapped but i don't think it really matters with anime. I just use whichever one i like. Like i said earlier i like the english for Princess Mononoke but the japanese for Akira
Anime is literally the only place I see people get really heated in arguments over whether subs or dubs are better.
Subs are better always, be it anime or any other kind of foreign language. It's a fact [editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
I can understand not wanting a dub for a live action film because it's basically guaranteeing that every performance is gonna be handicapped but i don't think it really matters with anime. Even with Ghibli I will go for subs though [editline]29th July 2014[/editline] Only time dubs are acceptable is Dragonball Z
