Just saw Hercules it was pretty cool. I was cringing at some of the armor designs but otherwise really good action scenes. Pacing is weird. I give it 8/10
Watching your animes with dubs and not subs? What are you, some kind of pleb?
i watch all of my chinese little girl cartoons with subtitles and translator notes so i can be sugoi
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes [sp]The first hour or so of this movie had me really interested; I knew the reviews for this had been pretty wild and I didn't have any preconceptions other than that. Haven't seen the first one. I eventually realised there were a lot of problems with it and I found it really hard to care about any of the characters. Then it started getting gratuitous with explosions and CG and that made me lose all interest. The biggest emotion this film stirred in me was the dread that came on during the ending, with the realisation that there was still a whole other film left to come after it before anything was going to be resolved.[/sp] 5/10
I honestly think Nolan really didn't want to do a third Batman film but did it so the studio would stop complaining about it.
wasn't it rushed? i heard he wanted to release it much, much later (or even release another movie before it or something?)
One thing I never got about The Dark Knight Rises is the name. Shouldn't it be The Dark Knight Falls ?
batman 3 felt so under-par, it was longer and more extravagant but there was no step-up from Batmens 1 and 2. I felt Gordon-Levitt was underplayed, and the entire villain story felt absurd compared to Joker's boat debacle. I've given it 4 chances, and each time it's made me care less and less for the entire batmon trilogy and that's a terrible thing to happen. :( At least now Noles can move forward and make some space movies.
one thing that I found really silly about Gordon-Levitt's character was how he somehow knew Bruce was Batman simply cause he threw him a sideways glance when he was like 10 years old
One thing I never got about The Dark Knight Rises is the name. Shouldn't it be The Dark Knight Falls ?
I think it's referring to the part where he gets out of the pit.
I just watched Dragonball Evolution. My reaction by the end.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Haven't seen the first one. 5/10

You're a big guy For you [I'm a big guy for you]
The very first time I heard this I thought of some gay things. The thought never goes away. [editline]29th July 2014[/editline]
Contagion is a great movie.
Tbh I was bored for most of the movie
Cowboy Bebop had good dubs, they were enjoyable. But, usually just go for the original version with subtitles that works for live action foreign films too.
it depends on the dub for example, one piece had an incredibly censored dub by 4kids and the voice-acting was just ridiculous, so that's a show i would watch subbed, but then again 4kids ruined one piece for me altogether so i'll never watch it.
I think it's referring to the part where he gets out of the pit.
So it's referring to one part of the movie that happens like three quarters in after the much more dramatic and heavy moment of [sp]Batman getting his back fucking obliterated[/sp] Yeah I still don't get it.
It works as a metaphor of the entire premise of Batman's return in the film. he's been broken and his reputation ruined since the first film, still viewed as the villain who [sp]killed Harvey Dent[/sp] (idk maybe there is one dude who hasnt seen tdk), gone into hiding. His ascent in the mountain is him doing something no one else was able to do and returning to save the city. He's Batman again. He's the best dude. He's the only dude who can climb that pit, just as he's the only person who can stop Bane. It's a great title and its namesake is strong.
I still can't believe how weird and poorly paced TDKR was. There are so many things wrong after that movie, especially after TDK and how well that one was written.
I just watched Dragonball Evolution. My reaction by the end.
DBE was amazing Exceeded every single one of my expectations
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 4/5 I gave it another watch. I was torn between The Avengers and this and I only wanted to watch the Pirate Attack scene again, but then decided I wanted to watch it all again. I can understand why this is his least liked movie, but even so, it's still particularly funny and I love all the characters and stop-motion animals.
Hercules 6/10 Was okay, didn't need the [sp]"I didn't kill my wife and kids"/who's the real killer conspiracy[/sp] plot. Should have stayed true to the entire myth. Liked the way they toyed with the Hercules's origin; did he ever do those 12 labors, or were they made up? [sp]Ending didn't help much. Felt a bit tangled.[/sp] Glad I never saw Legend of Hercules.
I still can't believe how weird and poorly paced TDKR was. There are so many things wrong after that movie, especially after TDK and how well that one was written.
I thought the problem was that it had too much stuff going on. They introduced several new characters and stories while simultaneously trying to tie them together with events from the first two films. In addition, they're trying to keep this whole thing about Bruce's personal journey. The fact that it takes after The Dark Knight Returns and Knightfall results in the Batman himself not appearing that often in the film which was kind of a let down, IMO. I still really enjoyed the film, but it does have its issues.
Cashback - 7/10 Liked it but it had some major plot elements that could've been explained throughout, very good acting from the whole cast though.
Cashback - 7/10 some major plot elements
boobs are plot elements?
vampires - 8/10 mostly for the music and creativity
boobs are plot elements?
the soccer match and the things that happened throughout that point were confusing and almost felt unnecessary in the movie, idk.
the soccer match and the things that happened throughout that point were confusing and almost felt unnecessary in the movie, idk.
well, that is the definition of filler, usually.
tdkr is getting too much hate in this thread. yeah te script is weak and at times odd but nolan still elevates it into a super captivating movie. don't tell me that movie didn't enthrall you when you saw it in the cinemas.
We were laughing about the ridiculous parts and the corny one-liners throughout the whole movie. Like that bomb throwing "training" with JGL, or when te villain girl whatshername rides that bombtruck just for the sake of it. [editline]30th July 2014[/editline]
I think it's referring to the part where he gets out of the pit.
That would be pretty underwhelming
Yea agreed. I fucking hate Brett Ratner. One of the single most boring directors ever. He has no style. No mark that a film is his. No substance. He just shoots things in the bare minimum way needed. He just gets a master wide shot and shot-reverse-shot for all his dialogue stuff and his action scenes are messy and badly put together. no idea how he became famous because there's nothing notable to him whatsoever, which is almost worse than being notably bad.
i tried watching it before i read the book and hated it, watched it a few weeks ago after i read the book and i didn't mind it as much but it felt like he was trying to make Silence of the Lambs 2 and it was fucking terrible in that regard
rush hour and tower heist tho
rush hour was good cos of the chemistry between the two main characters, Ratner's directing was hardly stellar. it was.. fine. I never saw Tower Heist but it looked shit and I heard it was shit and it had Eddie Murphy in it so it is definitely shit
and it had Eddie Murphy in it so it is definitely shit
are you high
