Eddie Murphy's career has been horrific for like 15 years

the only good one is the first because Jackie Chan obviously has no idea what the fuck anyone is saying or doing and it's hilarious
rush hour 2 was good too you're incorrect

just saw Chasing Amy
I liked it. Better than Clerks in my honest albeit unpopular opinion

his performance was definitely more "abrasive 80s Eddie" than "I have no agent 00s Eddie"
incidentally the movie was pretty mediocre

John Dies at the End: 6/10
It was so good up until they introduced Shitload and tried to incorporate everything from the novel in the last third of the film. Until that point it felt very contained and the pacing was done quite well, but when they combined the three separate stories from the novel into one finale it just kind of fell apart

hahaha what the fuck
is this the part where kingstar reveals his true identity and intentions
I watched Sin City, it was alright but I didn't enjoy it too much. My favourite bit was the bit with Rourke, his character was pretty visceral and bloodthirsty.
Guardians Of The Galaxy 8.2/10
Definitely a feeling of Star Wars and Star Trek here along with a slight atmosphere of 1980s Science Fiction and Indiana Jones. Glad Marvel Studios finally made something that isn't Hollywood crowd pleasing fluff for once. I got the feeling watching the film also that they were trying to not use CGI wherever possible, giving it quite a unique look compared to more recent superhero films. Not that I hate CGI mind you.
Also with regards to the scene post credits [sp]I seriously hope they aren't going to make a new Howard The Duck film, in fact it was sheer terror when he appeared[/sp]
Offret (Sacrifice) - 9/10
I'm slowly making my way through Andrei Tarkovsky's filmography, probably gonna watch Nostalghia next since it's on Netflix.
Guardians of the Galaxy - 7/10
It's been overhyped to fuck with the reviews. It did a really good job of setting up the extended universe of Marvel but I don't think it was very funny (a lot of the jokes just fell flat with me) and it relied a lot on it's use of humour tbh. The final fight was pretty good I guess. I just don't think Pratt is a leading man.
On the plus side, Vin Diesel was great as Groot, Drax was actually a decent character and Karen Gillan was still hot as fuck as a blue, bald android.
after credits spoiler [sp] dat Howard the Duck tho [/sp]
I haven't seen a marvel movie since Iron Man 2, and really don't give a shit about super heroes in general. But Guardians has my attention, 'cause I love assholes going on space adventures. Should I bother to see it even with my distaste for the superhero genre?
