It does bother me a teeny bit that not only they've thrown in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 but not the original but instead they've thrown in a 2002 Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, confused the hell out of me at first.

For the S.O.S Millenium series: Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S Your "collection" is just kind of a bin of various films. Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II is actually after Godzilla vs Mothra: Battle for Earth. Mechagodzilla II is part of the Heisei Era, or the "Canon Godzilla" story. Basically, the Heisei series says: After 1954, we thought Godzilla was destroyed and would never attack. In 1984 (Or, '85, for the US release), we were wrong. It's the first canonical, start-to-finish "storylined" Godzilla series. The Millennial era was a restart of the Godzilla movies, with the 1999 film Godzilla 2000 (Or, in Japan, Millennium). It went back to the Showa Era roots of "Oh shit here comes Godzilla again, what do" However, the Millennium series had a lot of 'reboots' (ala 1985): Godzilla vs Megaguirus Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (and the subsequent Tokyo S.O.S) Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack [The actual title, not kidding]
Guardians of the Galaxy. I fucking loved it. Best movie of the year. [editline]11th August 2014[/editline] 100/10
-snip, merge-
Return of the Killer Tomatoes. It's a horrific film, but that's the point since it doesn't take itself seriously at all. George Clooney is in it and that baffles me since he's a decent actor.

It's a collection in the more literal sense of the word. Still, I'm going to enjoy the fuck out of this. Also came with a neato little poster, I'll post a pic later.

I need Godzilla vs Monster Zero and Godzilla vs Mothra on DVD and then I'll be set.
Forgot it was double-sided. [t]http://puu.sh/aNYad/b186cbb31b.jpg[/t] [t]http://puu.sh/aNY9C/cbcb180486.jpg[/t] [editline]11th August 2014[/editline] You asshole, my merge. Just finished this. Really good documentary.
Redux is a lot better. I really felt the length of the boat's journey and the helplessness and shaky mental state of the crew with the added scenes. And the French plantation scene is really good too.
speaking of directors cut versions natural born killers directors cut is a drug trip
The plantation stuff was cool but I see why it wasn't used in the theatrical cut, it just feels like meandering and it doesn't really effect the plot or characters at all. Apocalypse Now theatrical cut is a much tighter movie.
I've seen most of the Godzilla films at least three times. Exception is Tokyo S O S, but the Showa movies I've seen over a dozen times more than the modern ones.
Everyone has to start somewhere.
Didn't Jack Nicholson start his career in a weird black and white movie where he played a creepy guy with an even creepier obsession with dentists Then again Nicholson's entire career can be summed up by the words creepy and obsession.
well shit i might have to go see that guardians movie after all never heard anything about those guys before
Legend of the Galactic Heroes: My Conquest is the Sea of Stars 8/10 Real cool space opera. Gonna watch the second movie once I get off work.
Godzilla vs Monster Zero - 7/10 Lovable classic that I can't help but put high-up on my recommended list.
Robin Williams has died. In case anyone missed it in SH. God 2014 sucks.
gutted honestly, I love Robin Williams. I've been watching his films since I was old enough to watch movies. Films like Flubber, Mrs Doubtfire, Hook, Jumanji were films I watched all the time as a kid, and as I got older I learned to love his dramatic roles as well. He was one of the first actors I paid attention to and would watch stuff cos he was in it. And going out by suicide, as well. I at least hope people will learn from his death and realise that even the people who seem most happy on the outside can still be very much struggling inside and that you don't have to look sad to be depressed. Terrible news :(
That's unbelievably depressing. "May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest" Another legend is gone.
shit. depression sucks im gonna watch Good Will Hunting again when i get the chance
Why...can't I stop crying
Hope this doesn't start the trend of summer celebrity deaths.
shit not a good way to wake up in the morning :'-(
Good Morning Vietnam. 9/10. I fucking loved it. Cheerful and happy as fuck in the first 2/3s of the film, then it became depressing, then it became depressing and cheerful. And it was hilarious the whole time. Its hard to believe that the radio broadcasts were improvised Im absolutely fucking shocked that Robin is has passed away. GOOOODBYE VIETNAM :(
World's Greatest Dad is probably the most depressing film he's done now that he died like this... because [sp]his son in the film dies by hanging[/sp] That's just horrible. :(
Network - 4/5 Guardians of the Galaxy - 4/5

Godzilla Raids Again - 6/10 It's pretty obvious the bulk of the budget went into the suits and miniatures because they're awesome. Gone with Big G's stiff and slow movement, in comes a suit that allows for some kick-ass fighting. There's also some great miniature action, including one building where individual roofing tiles fall off. Any scene where Anguirus or Godzilla falls through a large building or topples it over is unbelievably satisfying. Sadly, it's pretty obvious the bulk of the budget went into the suits and miniatures because anything outside it is kind of ass, even keeping in mind this was made in 1955. For one thing, and I'm dead serious, you can count the amount of scenes with music on one hand. And it's not even the big fight between Godzilla and Anguirus, they're soundtracked by their cries and the sound of crunching buildings. The majority of the smoke visible is overlayed on top of the film so most of it blends in about as well as an elephant in a corn field. There's also a miniature of Godzilla that I assume was supposed to move but it just stands there. Yes, really intimidating. There's also the fact that the fighting looks kind of comical. Apparently the camera operator was told to undercrank (as opposed to overcrank) the camera while filming so it's kind of like sped-up stop motion and yes, it looks just as funny as it sounds. While it lacks the pseudoscience ending of the original, its ending is just as silly. I'm not going to spoil it but I guarantee it's something that stops making sense while you're sitting there watching it. Is it worth it? Kinda. The destruction is still as pleasing and visceral as the original, the human characters are quite sympathetic[sp](Kobayashi, noooooo!)[/sp]and the action is ultimately serviceable. If you have a high tolerance for the negatives of old-time film-making, you'll find this a decent time-killer.
