What's that one Robin Williams film where he uses a program to look at dead people's memories?
Small Apartments 6.7/10 This was an odd one. It felt sort of like someone's attempt to make a Coen brothers style farce. It didn't tie together brilliantly but it was entertaining and unpredictable.
Dr. Strangelove or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. 9-10/10 still made me laugh like mad even though its so old, Peter Sellers is absolutely phenomenal (plays 3 of the main roles) And the ending is possibly the funniest of any movie i've ever watched
good will hunting - 9/10
just watched that last night, was really weird seeing robin in it now that he's gone his speeches were twice as moving this time though
into the storm- 5/10 it was okay it seemed really inconsistent. some of the acting was pretty okay (like Freddie) and some of it was pretty groan-worthy (the head storm chaser dude). when the dad [sp]frantically pulls his kid out of the flooded area[/sp] i really felt for him (even though it was obvious the kid would live), but then other characters do brain-dead shit like [sp]run straight into a firenado.[/sp] (speaking of that character, I swear I see him get in the tornado tank thing like 20 minutes after he's supposed to be [sp]dead.[/sp] the special effects were inconsistent too, the wide shots of the tornado going through the airport for example were great, while other shots of shit being torn apart looked worse than twister (which is really sad considering that came out 18 years ago.) and the firenado specifically looked very fake when it panned up to show it going into the clouds. looked like a 10 y/o video game. the third inconsistent thing was whether the movie wanted to be found footage or not. some shots are clearly implied to be, while there are also several wide angles clearly not captured by any character. hell, even sometimes there's a shot you think is found footage, but when the camera cuts to the opposite angle, no camera is seen where the previous shot was filmed from. it's really weird. if they wanted to do both FF and regular cinematography they should've made it more obvious which shots where which by applying some kind of film/distortion filter or something. it was decent entertainment when the twisters actually showed up, but everything else was pretty eh. seemed like Freddie and Lori were the only actors that really tried. the camaraderie with the characters in twister was nonexistent here. at least there was a flying cow. also [sp]the idea that the 'eye' of a tornado is calm like a hurricane[/sp] is pants-on-head retarded and they totally ripped off the matrix revolutions at the end
Locke - 8/10 loved it and Tom Hardy was nothing but excellent, both his acting and how his character was written. damn i love simple moody movies
Something about Tom Hardy that just makes him really enjoyable and mesmerizing to watch. Thanks to your recommendation, I just watched Locke. Can't believe I was hooked from start to finish. I'm practically an expert on all things construction, now.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? - 9/10 I do enjoy me some Coen Brothers. This movie is great fun, with a twisty plot, fascinating characters, engaging performances, and good old-timey music. I love the conflicts and cooperations between the speechifyin' Everett, the bullheaded Pete, and the simple-minded Delmar. This is my second time watching it, so I was able to better look into the storyline (as I already knew how it went, rather than the slow-burn of the first time around). Great stuff, I really need to get around to seeing the rest of the Coen Brothers movies - I've only seen about half of them.
good morning vietnam - 8/10
Drive 2/10 I'll give it the 2 for the few actual driving scenes it had. The rest of the film was filled with reaction shots (of people's faces) and boring talking. I wasn't engrossed in the movie (I was fucking bored), and I knew what was going on. Nothing got me involved in the protagonist's plight during the climax of drama. Boring. edit: I should add that I'm not someone who needs action to be into a movie. I like wordy movies... if they're thought provoking and the dialogue is interesting. This one simply was not.
*combusts*
i don't like you
Why? what is wrong

kingstar is a troll account calling it
Kingstar ur a piece of shit
just saw that Guardian of the Galaxy thing, very good, some very high quality flashing lights with flying saucers but what made this extra good was the good amount of soul music and humour that didn't degrade and put it into the pit of Transformer or other malarkey. In fact, this outdid the Star Trek malarkey and furthermore an actual surprise in one particular actor and that's: [editline]17th August 2014[/editline]
who the fuck was expecting this lol
me, but i haven't yet seen it and doubt i'll downrate it because of that..
Flame and Citron (2008) A wartime thriller about the Danish resistance which examines the blurred lines of killing and loyalty and that makes this one a little bit better than some. Mads Mikkelson is always a good watch and the flame haired co-star more than pulls his weight. Good to see Christian Berkel dusting off his Nazi uniform yet again as the head of the Gestapo. The pace and intrigue move at a nice pace and the hero crap is kept to a minimum. This film reminded me very much of 'Max Manus man of war' and fans of such films will enjoy this. Locke Tom Hardy proves he can captivate for 90 minutes on his own in a car. On paper this film isn't much but as always, the human dilemma lifts the film and Hardy nails it. You can't help but route for him as he tries to block the holes in his life like a leaking boat. Excellent film. Peace.
jude I need some sweet foreign films to keep me going, please set me up.
Museum Hours A famous Vienna gallery of fine art provides a situation for 2 loners to hook up and bawww about shit. I love slow films but this took it to a new level. By the end I wanted them to kill themselves and I felt nothing for them. Life isn't this miserable and if it is for some then get the fuck over yourself. The art was the true star of this and that was the only reason I kept watching. Bruegel is a master and I'll be booking a flight to Vienna soon because of this film. Who says good things can't come from watching shit films?
jude I need some sweet foreign films to keep me going, please set me up.
Amelie is a good one. [editline]17th August 2014[/editline] Ah shit jewdozer's back
jude I need some sweet foreign films to keep me going, please set me up.
Theres been a famine lately. I've sat through a lot of shit but try out 'About Elly' from the Iranian guy who gave us the masterful 'A separation'. I thought it was amazing. Good to see you still posting on here.

Starred Up Film 4 prison drama about an untamable badass who ends up in the same block as his dad. This was cliched to bits. The usual cockney "fackin cant" "givin' is the big un" and "mugging me off" were embedded into the script and the performances were appalling from the minor characters. Film 4 has delivered some great films but this is not one of them. [editline]17th August 2014[/editline]
pls dont
Fuck you......lol
I'm sure rusty will be pleased to see you too when he checks the thread.
Rusty's Jewdozer-sense must be tingling right about now.
