Blue is the warmest colour was the last world cinema flic that blew me away.
Snot, tears and all, those actresses didn't hold back.

gotg? I am not familiar with that one. Oh yes, Marvel I don't like it.

Lol Rusty. Funny seeing his fanboys hanging off his ass hair like dangleberries bobbing around in his pants. Just because some kid has his name in green letters doesn't mean you have to degrade yourselves into posting about what he might or might not think about me posting here. Neither me or him really give a fuck as I post and he bans.
Nigga please.....

gotg is not bad at all though. it still has that "marvel feel" but it's smarter, less serious and more self-aware than all of their other movies
Who liked The Great Beauty? I thought it was fucking awesome.
I got Paul Newman's Shadowmakers to watch tonight. I heard its good.

In the House
An amazing French film. Best I've seen in a while.

Two Day's One Night from director Jean Pierre Dardenne is on the way with Marion Cotillard. I've not seen it yet but it looks good fr5om the buzz so far and very poignant when you look at the economic downturn.
I thought The Great Beauty was one of the best films of 2013. A great tribute to the likes of Fellini but also a masterful film that stands on its own. Lovely film.
It's been ages since I've watched a film actually. There was something I watched recently but I can't remember what it was so it was probably not that good. Either been busy or marathonin episodes of anime tiddies
Gotta watch something tonight.
guardian of the galaxy!
I had to fucking bing it.

Was literally just about to ask about this. Heard good things about it and saw it was on US netflix but I keep putting off seeing it for some reason (the reason being I'm halfway through watching Evangelion at the moment because I'm a faggot anime newbie gaylord person). What do you guys think about it? (about BitWC, not me being a faggot anime newbie gaylord person)
BITWC is one of the best films to come out in absolutely ages, I seriously love the film. Saw it twice in the theatres and it's so far the only film I own on blu-ray. Go watch it. Was definitely my favourite of 2013.
Blue Is The Warmest Colour is a good film but totally not what I expected at all. I was expecting some art romance film and not a serious drama about growing up and questioning ones sexuality and life. Not to mean that I was disappointed because it is strong.
Nice. I guess I'll go watch it then :v:
Into the Storm. Its no Twister but I enjoyed and had fun with it.
Doesn't suck/10
Guardians of the Galaxy
I really enjoyed this movie, which is surprising because I absolutely despise Marvel movies. But this movie succeeded in both not trying to make it serious and failing, and adding better depth between the lead characters than any other Marvel movie, without even trying really. The action scenes were really fun to watch, probably because it isn't just Thor swinging his dumb hammer around for five minutes and nothing else, but actually inventive action while making it comedic at times as well.
I think one of the biggest reasons I enjoyed this Marvel movie over many others is because it felt self-contained and within its own well-established universe. Like no where in the movie does Iron Man or someone just come in and chat with the characters. It was just who was supposed to be in the movie being in the movie, which made it feel a lot cleaner and not sloppy.
If there was anything to criticize about GOTG, I'd say the romantic subplot with Gamora and Peter was kind of ehh, but all summer blockbusters need romance so I thought it was done adequately, and also I don't know how the whole relationship thing went in the comics. Either way, it was unnecessary imo. Also I understand the importance of the first scene of the movie, but I was actually questioning if I was watching GOTG or a really bad drama in the first 10 minutes :v:

i'm sorry for being the fanboy yet again but all the recent marvel movies have pretty fun and varied action sequences. im3 had tony [sp]using his homemade weapons to infiltrate killian's home[/sp] and the fight at the end with all the suits, thor 2 had the whole dimensional thing at the end, and ca2 was pretty much regular fighting only but the choreography was top notch
A Thousand Times Good Night
Juliette Binoche and 'Jamie Lannister' star in this story of a female war photographer torn between her job and her family. Theres absolutely no tits in it but overall the film was fairly good but nothing amazing. Interestingly the Afghan section looked genuine but the African section looked staged. A lot of piano music. And cocks too. Not.
Special mention on Lauryn Canny as the daughter, amazing.

Alright I'll admit that The Winter Soldier was okay as well
is thor 2 any good?
Alright I'll admit that The Winter Soldier was okay as well
My gripe with CA2 is that for a movie called 'The Winter Soldier', it didn't have a lot of him.
is thor 2 any good?
Yes.
is thor 2 any good?
its a nonsensical rollercoaster of bad chemistry between the two main characters and i think it also has a plot (not sure)
the action scenes are fun tho
is thor 2 any good?
Thor 1 great, Thor 2 shit. No chemistry between the 2 and the whole lot was too cheesy. Everybody was phoning it in. Looked like a cheap dr who
I'm amazed you liked Thor 1. I thought it was terrible and one of the worst of the Marvel films (and I only really like Iron man 1 and The Avengers.. Thor 1 is horrific)
[editline]17th August 2014[/editline]
aint no Incredible Hulk at least. that is a piece of shit.
I loved the whole Norse mithology thing and the direction from Brannagh was excellent. It was disposable crap but good. Kind of like executing a turd with style.
thor 1 was a great 80s fantasy movie
I guess the costumes were a bit Flash Gordon.
aint no Incredible Hulk at least. that is a piece of shit.
??
Norton's Incredible Hulk is like a 3.5-4/10 it is fucking god awful
Norton's Incredible Hulk is like a 3.5-4/10 it is fucking god awful
Do I want to know what Bana's Hulk is in your book?
I don't really remember but Im pretty sure it falls into so-bad-it's-good so it's better than the Norton one
Gonna watch Rain Man, then watch Edge of Tomorrow.
Best part of Thor 2 was the after-credits.
[editline]18th August 2014[/editline]
Wolf of Wall Street
9/10
What a ride, wonder how much of this was true.
Amazingly much, read up on it.
I guess the costumes were a bit Flash Gordon.
imo not so much on any of the important characters' costumes but the extras on asgard such as the guards look like basically revamped shinier flash gordon costumes.
it would be nice seeing superheroes with silly costumes again
