the room - 9/10
-1 for the mom and kid for being pretty lousy actors
Hahahaha what the fuck. Do you remember that nice sci-fi flick with Tom Cruise, called Edge of Tomorrow? Well, as of right now it has two additional new titles, and seeing how the distributors have no idea what they're doing more are probably to come.
If you ask IMDb, it's Live on the Edge.
But the Blu-Ray version shall be forever known as Live. Die. Repeat.
pretty sure none of these are retitles. just more emphasis on the taglines
and nobodys gonna call it anything other than 'edge of tomorrow' anyway
[editline]19th August 2014[/editline]
the official facebook still calls itself Edge of Tomorrow too if you needed any more proof. if they were doing rebranding, that's the first place they'd start
so i have finally seen guardians of the galaxy
kevin bacon/10
Enemy - What/10
After reading so many people saying they were confused by the plot, I was feeling pretty proud of myself for following the storyline for the most part, but was somewhat confused how people could find it that confusing. I was like yeah, some things were strange but I'm sure it'll make sense by the end. Then the ending happened...
I'll admit that I got thoroughly spooked by that, but I can't imagine how bad that would have gotten an [sp]arachnophobe.[/sp] :v:
So yeah, I understood none of the movie now
Desolation of Smaug - 7.5/10
Much much better than the first Hobbit film.

Official changing the title would be a lawyer's nightmare. What they're doing right now, is that a person walking into the store would see a film called "Live. Die. Repeat" and by that would be more inclined to buy it, than with usual Edge of Tomorrow.
But why the fuck they didn't stick with one tagline, but have added another for poster on IMDb, that's beyond me.
Nymphomaniac 7/10
Would be a higher score if the second half continued to be as good as the first.
The first half covered a lot of topics about humans and sexuality and never got too ridiculous.
It was a pretty good coming-of-age story too, that presented a character study of someone who has an addiction, a lack of empathy and a hard time understanding the concept of love.
But then as the second part went on it felt like the writing just got tacky and kept getting worse until it hits the fucking terrible ending.
aww rustbucket deleted jewdozer's posts. :'[
you could have just left the movie names holmes.
edit: why is jude so controversial..
might have nailed down the characterization of loki and nerfed down kat dennings comic relief role for stellan skarsgard
but a shit movie is still a shit movie
Eh I didn't have any real problems with it.
American Hustle
pretty good. the performances were great
I watched the first half of the avengers last night. The first 20 minutes literally feel like a Transformers movie, but lacking bay's charisma. It even had an allspark. The dialogue was poor and felt like it was out of a bad Sci Fi tv show- generic, cheesy and all round bad. The performances were hammy. The cinematography cheesy and lame. It picked up once the avengers were assembled (no pun intended), and the scene where they all argue and you can tell Banner is gonna turn was actually great. He is definitely my favourite from the film so far and Ruffalo was fantastic. I will watch the rest today because its quality was on the up but I was shattered and turned it off to sleep. Opening wasn't impressive but now that it's kicked off Im expecting some good stuff.

Finally got round to watching Blue is the Warmest Colour. Probably one of my favourite films I've seen this year.

i will never get back the moments of my life spent reading the first half of your inane post.
To be fair, I too felt like the first act was the weakest part of The Avengers.
Guardians of the Galaxy: 8/10.
Highly enjoyable movie, certainly my favorite marvel movie because of how fun it is.
Also, I really liked the soundtrack and some shots were really beautiful.

maybe you should
or take more classes in general since all you can do is tell us we're dumb instead of giving a thoughtful explanation
To be fair, I too felt like the first act was the weakest part of The Avengers.
i didn't even dumb it because of that, i also thought it was the worst part of the movie, but comparing it to transformers is something else entirely, especially when you make it seem like charisma is one of bay's strengths.
hell, if someone asked me for a movie that lacked charisma, transformers would be at the top of my list. every relationship seems forced, the human characters are all unlikable and i never understood why sam and the transformers seem to have such a deep connection (especially bumblebee)

you call that pretentious.. it barely is, you really need to take a course on that; we could set one up here, i'll be the headmaster.

saw Michael Clayton for the third time, never ceases to grab me. Some say boring but this demands your full attention to detail or you'll never get it. Great film.
i didnt even finish blue is the warmest colour
it was just gratuitous
Basically here are some video summaries of what I think BITWC is and why I wouldn't care to watch it

Holy shit, this one word summarizes perfectly my feelings towards that film,.

Sex scenes lasts for about 8 minutes in 3 hours film. Now, that my seem in perspective as not so much, but holy shit they're so obnoxious and unnecessary that you feel like they made almost a half of the entire thing. I cannot help but laugh at people claiming how two minutes of characters scissoring and screaming was deep and meaningful character development. They were put there only to be a shocking element.
Pain and Gain
7/10. One of Michael Bay's better recent movies.

that movie was too much fun. i personally think it's his best
The Double
On the technical level it was astonishing. I loved the music, the visuals, the acting (Jesse Eisenberg plays so convincing annoying pussy, it's unbelievable), the entire direction that Richard Ayoade took with this film - he really is a skilled director. But I hated this film.
I simply cannot find myself liking a film that makes me feel bad, and god forbid awkward. It just isn't right. When I watch a film, I don't want to feel like shit afterwards, I have a real life for that.
