this is correct however, first blood was a book and ended after the first book because rambo died in it. the film did have an alternate ending where rambo died, but they used him living for the movie and the rest of the sequels are written solely on the characters of rambo and trautman.
I'd have prefered if he died tbh but that's opinion
Meanwhile...

maybe I should have mentioned another film... Planes perhaps.
Surely you can't be serious? Oh wait, wrong film. Yeah Planes was an unnecessary spin-off to a series of two films that weren't very great anyway. For TMNT, I haven't see it yet, so I can't really say how much this will affect the audience and the fans besides "The Turtles look weird".
The Prince of Egypt 9.5/10 Yet another high scoring film with critical acclaim but I don't set out to watch crap so it can't be helped. I am not a follower of any of the Abrahamic religions, just to put that out there. I'm also not familiar with the finer details of the Book of Exodus, though the film politely tells us creative liberties were taken from the source material. Despite all that, I really enjoyed the film, it's bloody gorgous and acted superbly. A lot of songs though so if that's not your cup of tea, then you might not enjoy it that much. Good songs, but a high density of them. It's a shame Dreamworks went from "Deliver Us", Biblical stories, and high drama to the sassy, one-eyebrow-raised, Shrektastic snarkfest it is today. Parents several years ago...
its not a shame at all dreamworks has made great movies since shrek (including shrek)
its not a shame at all dreamworks has made great movies since shrek (including shrek)
Too much Shrek. Too much sassy-face. Too much Madagascar. Still not on the same level as The Prince of Egypt.
Under The Skin - ???/10 I don't want to rate this one because my opinion could be controversial. Some people see this as a vapid, pointless, and stupid film. The film I saw, was beautiful, poignant, and engaging film about something that learns the value of life and it's emotions. Throughout the film, (gonna wrap it all in spoiler) [sp]Scarlett learns so much about her surroundings, despite the things she knows she must do (pick up men, lure them). It starts off mysterious. Why is this young woman clearly just going around and randomly speaking to men? As the film goes on and we see 2 things in particular happen, there is a moment with a disfigured man which I think could go as far as being called one of the most touching scenes of any film ever. Scarlett clearly cares about this person. As she is also an outcast, she sees this person in a different light of everyone else. She cares about him. Ultimately, she must carry out her duty, but in the end she lets him go. This is the turning point of the film. Scarlett realizes what she did, she experienced her first true human emotion. Now, before this, there is a man on a motorcycle who clearly has disregard for all human life (such as the beach scene). He does not care. He checks Scarlett to make sure she is doing her duty and looks her in the eyes to see if she has experienced something she shouldn't. The motorcycle man is the symbol of how Scarlett should have been acting, cold and indifferent. But Scarlett clearly has other motives as the film goes along, as she runs away into the country-side, to flee the ultimate demise she will be faced with after experiencing the emotions she was never supposed to feel. The ending obviously shows you what she is, and why these things are happening, but the fate of her character is upsetting all itself. Scarlett wanted at that moment to be alone, to understand herself, but was met with a demise she could not have seen coming due to her own coldness of nature and lack of experience. It's a very melancholy movie. Perhaps you weren't supposed to feel what I felt for her character, but I did.[/sp] Maybe my analysis or whatever is wrong, I dunno, but I thought it was great. Scarlett's acting, the beautiful shots, good directing, and even some cool special effects made the movie so good. On second watches it even enhances it, as you catch so many little things and reasons that go into her character. Also, the music is amazing. I fucking loved the music so much. One of my favorite films now, but I don't truly know what rating I would give to it. 10 seems bias, but 9 would mean that it had some kind of flaws, that, to me, seemingly there weren't any. Maybe it was utter shit and I'm just looking too much into it.
wait people saw under the skin for the story?
If you saw it to see her tits you're stupid [editline]29th August 2014[/editline] I saw it and I hated it massively but I at least understood what it was trying to do, looking at humans from an outside perspective and looking at us as the aliens. As well as that we see Johanssen's character turning from cold and heartless to learning to feel and care for people. I didn't think it executed it very well though. There were some amazing shots in it but not enough to justify the visuals as a selling point, sound design was absolutely A+ though. [editline]29th August 2014[/editline] I met Paul Brannigan, the actor who played the guy she picks up at the bar, a couple weeks ago. He is very cool and down to earth. (most of the characters were real people but Brannigan is an actual actor- very good one, from the school of Ken Loach whose approach to acting and actors is one I respect more than almost any director's) Apparently there was no CGI and even the [sp]blackness and goo during her "feeding" scenes[/sp] was entirely practical. Pretty cool except he had to have someone wiping him down head to toe (including his dick and ass :v:) with lollipop type things to get the goo off lmao
wait people saw under the skin for the story?
I only watched only for the content of the film. I especially liked the nude scenes not because of how utterly beautiful Scarlett is, but because the lighting they used in each shot made her seem like an imperfect being. Far from what she is normally pertrayed (Angel-like, perfection, etc). She was beautiful in a very real way, the way I think an [sp]alien[/sp] would portray what they would find "beautiful' to a human. You can obviously tell they chose her intentionally due to how nice she looks. So it was an interesting choice to make her look imperfect.
ps i haven't seen the movie i just know she's full frontal in it
Eastern Promises (2007) Good. I am Russian, so it's quite easy for me to spot inadequacies and flaws in portrayal of Russian characters. I am glad the movie took the approach it did. There are scenes where the Russian dialogue sounds extremely unnatural, actors mispronounce and misuse words and switch languages back and forth. So why am I glad? Even though it was inaccurate, it translated the intended message clearly. You didn't have to speak Russian to understand the tattoo scene or whatever language Azim spoke to understand scenes with his son. The only wrong thing was that goofy cross on Viggo's chest, but if you think about it, it ties into the narrative.
ps i haven't seen the movie i just know she's full frontal in it
its not sexy
Back to shrek, I thought Puss in Boots was better than Shrek 3 and 4
Back to shrek, I thought Puss in Boots was better than Shrek 3 and 4
finally some real fucking discussion in this thread
Is Kill List any good? I've been meaning to watch it, but I've heard mixed things.
Is Kill List any good? I've been meaning to watch it, but I've heard mixed things.
It's fantastic I love it a lot [editline]30th August 2014[/editline] one of my favourite horrors easily
Is Kill List any good? I've been meaning to watch it, but I've heard mixed things.
It's very, very... different. I liked it a lot.
It's fairly slow at some parts, but the ending is fucked up. Probably the better part of the movie.
Honestly, I say horror but its first 20 minutes are essentially kitchen sink drama and the rest is a blend of horror/thriller. Ben Wheatley is very good at genre-blending effectively. It's one of his things.
its not sexy
Then why is it that every other movie she's in she's sexy as fuck/busty as fuck Are you telling me she looks better clothed than nude?
I feel like I'm the only person ever who didn't like Kill List
Then why is it that every other movie she's in she's sexy as fuck/busty as fuck Are you telling me she looks better clothed than nude?
They intentionally make it unsettling/imperfect. I mean, she [sp]doesn't have a vagina[/sp] so.
grose
The Dark Knight Rises - 8/10. A wonderful thing to behold, but not as interesting as The Dark Knight. And it could've been too if they fleshed out things like[sp]Wayne's time in the Pit; we never see him truly despair because the film had to make time for Bane's takeover. Bane and Miranda Tate's motivations; we know what they're trying to do but there was never a deep engrossing monologue criticizing Western civilization's lifestyle which drove Bane and Miranda Tate to doing the shit they were doing.[/sp]I mean man there could've been Syriana levels of discussion that this film could've done but nope.
[sp]they were continuing ra's al ghul's plan, simple as that. no further explanation necessary.[/sp]
Yeah I understood that, I even said that. I'm saying there was more room to make the film more relevant for discussion beyond the [sp]plot twist[/sp] and how sexy Anne Hathaway looked.
ur p big guy
And don't get me started on that plane scene.

Kill List 4/5 Yeah, that was rather different, but good. I loves that sense of dread they had through the whole job. I'm fact, it reminded me of Valhalla Rising.
