Django was nothing but a regression for Tarantino. Fun, and all round good, but a regression.
get rid of this motherfucker right now
seriously though, what's so good about django? what makes it even comparable to stuff like reservoir dogs, kill bill or pulp fiction? it's not a bad movie but it's nowhere near great either. i feel like the pacing is all messed up, the characters' motivations are unclear (among other stuff) and the only reason nobody really mentions it's flaws is because it's a tarantino film

well you shouldn't really compare them since Django is very different than his usual stuff. It's really cheesy and I think that excuses most of its " unrealistic " aspects. I think its charm lays in its fairly comical style and overall entertainment value. It's a genuinely well made piece of work, regardless of how inferior you regard it than his past films.
Least good Tarantino movie is probably Death Proof, but it was still a lot of fun.
woah there
1) Inglourious Basterds
2) Reservoir Dogs
3) Pulp Fiction
4) Jackie Brown
5) Death Proof
6) Kill Bill (I vastly prefer Part 2 to Part 1, though the final fight scene in 1 is 10/10)
7) Django Unchained
Of course, just because a film is at the end of the list, that doesn't mean they're bad. Every Tarantino is at least an 8.
stylistically it's very good, but it just wasn't funny or relentless as other Quentin movies.
that being said, I'm a Jackie Brown man.
basically the films on the list down to (and including) 4 are films i would consider to be 10/10 perfect films

did you just rate death proof over kill bill and django unchained?
Up - 9/10
Everyone carries on about how great the first 10 minutes are that they forget the rest of the movie is fantastic as well.
The LEGO Movie - 10/10
Third time watching it and I'm still noticing little details and sight gags. I love this movie.
We are about to watch the epic 'Gettysburg' in history class, thank god Mr. Kent didn't pick Gods and Generals. Has anyone seen Gettysburg, I want some opinions before I write on it
I though it was good. I think I ended up seeing it in two sittings (because it was so darn long) but Jeff Daniels was excellent.
did you just rate death proof over kill bill and django unchained?
yeah because its a better film
~~in my opinion~~
you think death proof and jackie brown are better than django unchained u fckin high m8
what's so hard to believe with that, Jackie Brown is Tarantino's best.
speaking as if Jackie Brown isnt one of his best
Regardless of how you feel about it. District 9 and Inglorious Basterds. I mean come on, how did Hurt Locker beat both of those?
The biggest question here is how did any of these movies beat James Cameron's Avatar
Wait
you think death proof and jackie brown are better than django unchained u fckin high m8
I can understand why people don't like Death Proof but Jackie Brown is objectively one of his best m8
what is this post Avatar sucks and everyone knows it
What are you talking about Avatar is the best movie ever made followed by Titanic and The Avengers

See the graph says so
biting satire here
Well if we're going to consider the academy awards actual proof of superiority then we might as well consider financial success the go-to criteria for perfection.
pretty sure ganerumo was being sarcastic, hence the "wait"
also avengers is superior to tdkr because it got a nomination and tdkr didn't, lol.
i got the sarcasm but it was total preaching to the choir on a point no one made
I just saw Divergent
it was shit
The Raid 2 - 6.5/10
Despite some fantastic fight scenes (Baseball Man and Hammer Girl are the standouts) this movie just didn't satisfy as much as the first installment.
I'm sure that a big part of the reason why I didn't enjoy it as much was the language barrier. Although I did watch it with subtitles, I had a hard time following the plot. It was somewhat convoluted and moved quickly, a sharp contrast from the concise, hard-hitting plot of the first one. Although I was generally able to keep track of characters' affiliations I often struggled to connect names and faces. I also wasn't entirely sure what the protagonist's end goal was.
The cinematography is beautiful - sets, shots, and lighting combine to create some amazing images. As I mentioned earlier, fight choreography is very good, with lightning-fast hits that convey a terrific sense of force and pain.
Unfortunately that wasn't enough for me. I just couldn't get fully into the main storyline, and the TWO AND A HALF HOUR runtime seriously started to drag. I was merely halfway through when I started wondering 'is it almost over?' and although it definitely ramped up near the end it just didn't do it for me.
Anyone check out this black and white silent version of Raiders of the Lost Ark?

I'm not a fan of all the music, but damn it looks gorgeous.
