That movie was pretty damn good. Intro was best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Kr4aCUYg8A excuse the video's low quality
The Prince of Egypt?
Ted 8/10 Fucking a' I do love this film.
This is the End 8.5/10 looked like a 9 until it got kind of retarded near the end there were some fucking genius moments in that movie
12 Angry Men (4th watch) - 10/10 never ceases to entertain me, prolly my favourite movie ever
Has anybody seen Giorgio Moroder's Metropolis Redux I've been trying to find a copy. http://www.morodermetropolisdvd.com/ Also that version of Metropolis is my favorite of all the cuts 9.5/10
World War Z 8/10 Entertaining & a good laugh with friends. Great CGI (the guy who was simulating the floods of zombies must have been having the time of his life), solid acting by Brad Pitt. Bit predictable though but what can you expect from a zombie film.
Kiki's Delivery Service - 8/10 One of Miyazaki's lesser films in my opinion. Although it was enjoyable, it had too much filler (enjoyable filler mind you), and lots of changes from the Japanese script in the English dub. I loved Phil Hartman's last performance but was mad when [sp] He was cut off from the rest of the movie with just cat meows due to Kiki losing her powers [/sp]. The ending also didn't answer any questions like did [sp] Kiki ever get to talk to Jiji again etc. [/sp]. It was still heartwarming. Although not as a great as Miyazaki's other films, the film is still more enjoyable than Ponyo.
Stoker 8/10 Jiro Dreams of Sushi 8.5/10
Se7en 9/10 Finally got around to watching this. It was terrific. Honestly think this might have just become one of my favorite movies of all time. Unfortunately the only thing I really knew about this movie before watching it was what happens in the last five minutes. I can only imagine how intense it was for people who actually saw the movie start to finish without knowing the end.
I remember you saying you hated it.
i have literally never said that, that is not a thing
Lethal Weapon 5 - 10/10 Great camerawork, good cast, hot and passionate love scenes. Was a brilliant movie and I'd highly recommend it to you guys. Don't worry about the prequels, you can jump straight in with this movie. I have a feeling these up-and-coming directors will definitely make a name for themselves in the near future.
Went out and saw World War Z. GugugugUGUGGHHHH. It was really bad. Don't see it. Very minor out-of-context spoilers, or stuff that was shown in the trailers in this, so don't read if you want to see it for some reason. The biggest issue I had with the movie was the pacing and cinematography. The movie would have greatly benefitted from a slower pace, because a lot of the shots are Jason Bourne-esque shaky still shots with tons of shit going on. It jumped from scene to scene rapidly, felt like they were trying to cram in as many explosions and running infected guys as possible. Another issue I had was the rating. Since it was PG-13, they obviously cut out a lot of gore and stuff. There was only a few drops of blood throughout the entire movie. Also a lot of minor inconsistencies and shit. [sp]There's one scene where someone's hand was cut off in about a quarter of a second. No blood was shown, they bandaged it all up, and she walked off with completely clean bandages. A character's loved ones get killed off and he NEVER MENTIONS IT for the rest of the movie, the protagonist's family leaves a supermarket with a shopping cart full of groceries, but turn around the corner and suddenly the cart is gone and replaced with a small backpack, they gather asthma supplies for the daughter but she's never seen using them and they never mention her condition, nobody gives a shit that the doctor they brought to Korea dies and they never mention him again, they never explain how Israel built 100-meter tall walls in 3 days along with weird coverings on the roads that allow buses to make their way to Jerusalem, protagonist shoots his bolt-action rifle, but never reloads or pulls the bolt even in tense fast-paced action, he duct tapes a newspaper to his arm near the start of the movie, but never explains how he knew that bites would infect him, or why he only covered one arm (because later on he stood near a ledge to kill himself because he got blood in his mouth, and was unsure if he would become infected that way). [/sp] Sounds like I'm nitpicking, but god, this movie really ticked me off. My biggest complaint has to be how fucking fake the movie is. A lot of you guys probably knew that because of the trailers, but goood fuck it's horrible. Remember that recent Speed Racer movie, and how all of the scenes were unsatisfying and boring because you knew it was just two guys sitting in chairs surrounded by green screens? Yeah, that's sorta how World War Z felt. The huge crowds of zombies are supposed to fill the viewer full of awe or something, but they just felt fake as fuck. Especially that one scene where thousands of zombies climbed up and over the wall in Israel. Sure, I'm supposed to suspend my disbelief, but it's really hard to do that when they have, fucking stupid scenes like this. The plane, too. Oh god, fuck that. Oh, and the story. Don't even get me started on the story. Basically, get 28 Days Later, subtract the quaint desolate British setting, slow scenes that give the characters life and personality, add HUGE NEW YORK, BIG ISRAEL WALLS WITH ZAMBABMOS EVERYWHERE, and SCENES WITH MOOOOOORE CGI ZOMBIE CROWDS, and NOOOON-STOP ACTION and you've got World War Z. 4/10
i have literally never said that, that is not a thing
better get the raiders of the lost post on this..
jack and Jill: 0/5 a great advertising movie, with no fucking shame
Miller's Crossing 8.4/10 Shit, was a weird movie towards the end.

V/H/S 2 my friends hated it but I actually really enjoyed every segment, especially the asian cult one. 7/10
i saw The Purge it was one of the worst and most stupidest movies I have ever seen please do not see it [editline]23rd June 2013[/editline] 1 star [editline]23rd June 2013[/editline] out of 10 of them [editline]23rd June 2013[/editline] it spends the whole movie hitting you over the head with how bad the movie world is but it's like i got that from even the plot synopsis. i understand you're painting the world as ugly and evil. but it's not real, you created it. it's not an allegory for the real world, the real world literally i nothing like this - and any idiot can see it's not headed down this path. so why are you still trying to convince me how bad it is when i already knew this?? i am not going to have a profound realisation about life, because this world isn't real and you only created it to say how bad it is in an attempt to make a very dumb political point. also the bad mans had really bad motivations. they want to catch a hobo that the family let in, because they want to kill him because they randomly chose him off the street. it's like, there are more hobos. obviously this one is proving more trouble than he's worth and will get you all killed - you don't even know him personally. find a different hobo! there are heaps!! and then there are the other bad guys who are the neighbors who kill those bad guys and it is really stupid and their motivation also makes no sense, they want to kill the family because the dad sold them all security systems. they are like 'you made so much money off us and you build a garage or something and rubbed it in our faces!', but it's like, yeah. you bought them. they made your homes safer. nobody made you buy them, and they are doing you good, and you are rich anyway. do you not expect the seller of these things to make a profit? why would you get angry when he did? are you some kind of stupid? why would you feel the need to kill a man who sold you a perfectly functional security system, that you totally needed, just because he made money from it? this movie made me want to take my brain out and play squash with it

I recently saw "The Usual Suspects" for the first time. It was pretty fucking entertaining although towards the end I got kind of lost in terms of plot. Like, I understand what happened, I just don't see how it makes any sense. 7 Kevin Spaceys/10 Kevin Spaceys

Most of it is probably lies or exaggerated truth, so that's why it doesn't make much sense [/sp]
So, back when that Medal of Honour game 'furious 4' or some shit was announced I noticed people were comparing it to Inglorious Basterds, which I finally got around to watching today, having never heard of it before that point. Just as a side note I don't watch many movies at all. The movie was unique in that a large amount of the time it lasts is drawn throughout very long scenes that last roughly 10-15 minutes, and this was pretty new to me. Quentin Tarintino definitely keeps the tension running high throughout all of them. At first I was a bit appalled by the gore (tearing off scalps is where I draw the line) and my friend came over and asked what I was watching shortly after the first scene where you see it happen. It was at that point he pointed out the director is Quentin Tarintino, the same guy who did Kill Bill. This came as a weird surprise and I saw the resemblance immediately. Thankfully it never got more gory than the scalps, though it came close a few times. The acting was excellent. The character development on the other hand wasn't. It was practically non-existent for most. "Oh, this guy speaks like this, and hes a bit of a nutter. Ok." Actually, that summarizes a lot of the characters in the film. Funnily enough, Hans Lande has the most character of any in the film and was very well done. Its no big beef but I came in expecting the Basterds to be a characterful group of badasses who kick arse and take names . There's not a single drawn out firefight in the entire film, save for in the movie the Germans watch in the theater. I'm willing to accept the compromise though because the plot was pretty incredible. I did not see any of the twists coming. There are no cliches. It makes you think you're about to see a cliche happen then changes the direction completely, and you're left wondering what the hell just happened. The ending caught me completely by surprise. There's some comedy in it, but the bits are few and far between. Once again, it doesn't really detract from the film. Also, it was kind of pointless having Mike Myers in this film. He wasn't funny in his brief appearance and he could have been played by someone who can be the "serious posh British general" far better. Overall, I'd give it about an 8.5/10, with special commendations for the plot.
gore owns i'm a puss but i still appreciate some realistic gore, if only because of the effort that went into the special effects. actual gore sucks
Just saw World War Z: 7/10 Now i have not read the books and have no prior knowledge of them. there has been talk of how they barely followed the books. This does not bother me in slightest as i have not read them. I did enjoy this film a lot. What I liked the most is how i found the zombies to be truly terrifying, These are not your run of the mill zombies which was refreshing and quite nice to see. I also liked how you got to view the outbreak on a much larger scale, rather than have it centralized to one location. The acting was great and the effects were great as well. What could have made this film better is if it was rated 18 instead of 15. There was barely and blood gore which is not what Zombie films are about. [sp]Such as not seeing the woman's arm being cut off or the stump, Pitt trying to pull that crowbar thing out of the zombie in Cardiff are a few examples[/sp] Some things in the film could have been explained better (unless i missed them) [sp]I also did not like how the film lost pace at the end[/sp] I saw it in 3D and unlike other films it does have some good 3D things and is not as much as a gimmick as other films. On the whole I very much enjoyed it and would recommend if for anyone. but it could have been better. I watched man of steel last week but I feel like this film will have a more lasting effect on me.
mooooviieees man of steel - 7.6/10 the fancy music and cgi overlapped the rather dissapointing story :( despicable 2 - 8.2/10 hilarious, doesnt stretch its jokes on forever its just solid and direct. steve carrel does some funny voice acting too Disconnect - 8/10 surprised by how good and immersive it was. it might not have character development as complex as 21 grams, but it comes close i also liked how the climax was, couldve been a bit more dramatic but was good movie overall [editline]as[/editline] seems like Disconnect is director Henry Alex Rubin's first movie

I saw World War Z, and oh my god, I know it was supposed to be bad, but I watched it with friends expecting just fun mindless zombie action. It was so boring I can't even describe. If you watched the trailer, you pretty much watched every remotely exciting moment in the movie. Besides those few scenes, all it was was just "shoot 3 zombies without any excitement or gore because it's PG-13, then next boring plot point." And almost every "emotional" part in the movie failed to deliver as well. The only part that was slightly powerful was the [sp]part with the girl getting her hand cut off.[/sp] Not even gonna rate, just avoid it. [editline]22nd June 2013[/editline] Oh yeah, and the cinematography was really bad too. Camera cuts happened like every other second during dialogue scenes for some reason, so it was really distracting.
