You say it's good so I'm tempted to watch it but
I don't think my mind can bear another Young Adults target group movie cuz so far all of them were written horribly, yes also the Panem saga.
Literally the only good YA is perks of being a wallflower which was one of the best films of 2012, novel is rly good too and the only YA book I fuck with
Transformers: Age Of Extinction - 6/10
Started off well, but then the stupid came.
The CGI seemed alot more shit and out of place than in the previous movies, and I didn't like the human-made transformers having that very 3DMax transition between robot and vehicle modes.
6/10 it was shit

the spectacular now is my favorite movie like that, it was a lot more character development than just feel good romantic stuff
The Cabin in the Woods
5/5
My roommate wanted to watch a movie and he picked this. I can't complain, given the time of the year. Plus, I love this movie.
ive been told fury is "really really really really stupid," disappointed
my bro said it's almost insulting to german soldiers and that it turned into like 300 at the end
well thats really disappointing I was hoping it was gonna be amazing, like inglorious basterds
i mean i def wasnt expecting inglorious basterds but i thought it was at least gonna be good
the reviews have been pretty positive though so i dunno, will have to see it for myself at some point

[editline]18th October 2014[/editline]
bradolf pittler
why the fuck would you expect tarantino from not-tarantino? he's not the only person to ever make a WW2 movie.

the only redeeming part of it is the last twenty minutes which i was able to predict practically at the beginning of the film.
I went to see Fury and it was pretty good. I can see why some wouldnt like it (characters are somewhat 1 dimensional, odd tone changes at time, though not too big of a deal, weird ass pacing.) It had some solid acting though and the action scenes are some of the best of the year.
It isnt realistic and nevet stuck out to me as such. It does turn into a 300-esque battle sequence near the end but personally I thought it was bad ass. I guess to each his own, if realism is your thing this will certainly not be much for you.
7/10 is about my score. What was good was really good and what was bad was puzzling at most. Its a "see it if you like action or war movies" and avoid if you dont much care. Id still throw out the suggestion to see it based on what I thought was like a fun factor but I guess that doesnt mean much to most people.
just watched Fury
18/10
I just watched Children of Men for the first time. Easily one of my new favorite films. 11/10.
Books are lame af films are ok. 3 is the best one

I really dont like JK Rowling's prose, imo she is a bad author with a good imagination
the harry potter films are a remarkably consistent series
order of the phoenix was god awful.
the rest were good.
they made the best book o the lot a boring mess.
and they wasted gary oldman.
Watched Mr. Smith Goes to Washington last night.
That really played with my emotions.
10/10
I cant remember order of the phoenix or half blood prince at all.
I've been reading the books and watching the movies right after and let me tell ya the first 2 movies were good adaption but the 3rd was bad (even though the movie is good) the 4th did ok for they had to do. Half way through the Order of the Phoenix
Order of the Phoenix was probably the worst movie for me.
Which is sad cause I thought it was one of the best books
Fargo - 4.5/5
just watched Fury
18/10
can you elaborate?
Im worried about seeing because I'm a history buff and I feel like the entire time I'll be screaming "THIS DIDNT FUCKING HAPPEN"

the poa movie is the best one though, and one of the better books
hbp was garbage, but i really liked the book
the first two were good but very kiddish and generic
goblet was one of the best books
order was an okay book, longer than it really needed imo but a pretty solid movie, despite all the shit they cut out or changed
dh was an awesome book, part 1 was a solid movie and part 2 was just bleh for me
Chamber of Secrets movie was also waayy too long

Oh I wasn't saying PoA was a bad book, it's my favorite so far with Goblet in close second. Phoenix is dragging but overall interesting things are going on
Alien - I admire its purity/10
Watched this not too long after finishing Alien Isolation. Made me realize the sheer amount of references and attention to detail that I missed in Isolation. Notably [sp]Ash's fighting behavior and his attempt at murdering Ripley with a magazine, since you actually see a guy get killed the same way in Isolation, and the androids basically fight you exactly the same way Ash did[/sp]
Still a fucking great movie. This version was the director's cut in 1080p, which did not include any of the cut scenes and had some time slashed off scenes that dragged on for too long. I don't know if any of the modern versions include the cut scenes like the eggmorphing scene.
seeing as this is the only thread anyone in this section goes to I would just like to say that The Knick is really great and you should all watch it
seriously fucking nobody watched it
Mel Brooks night last night.
History of the World Part I - 7/10
11 years since the first time I saw this, it's still just as dumb as I remember but funnier. The puns and taking shit literally is still the same but some of the jokes are easier to understand now that I know of them, like the Oedipus cameo or Mel Brooks heading an anti-Jew inquisition. It's nonsensical, it's high-school level humor and I absolutely love it.
Spaceballs - 8/10
Less of the silly puns and taking stuff literally but still a good dose of really stupid jokes (president Skroob? Really?). Rick Moranis as Lord Dark Helmet is hilarious, his scenes hit the right mark all the time, Michael Winslow does his shtick and gets a giggle, frigging Yogurt and the merchandising gag. It feels like HOTW but a little more refined.
Also, I damn near cried of laughter during[sp]the Alien reference.[/sp]That went from 'funny cameo' to 'holy fucknuts what the hell is this' real fast.
