is nymphomaniac vol. 1 and 2 any good
Yes some of the best stuff of the year imo
Vol 1 is surprisingly quirky and legitimately funny, but still dark and grim of course. It's von trier. Vol 2 is more serious and bleak but still good, vol 2 is more par for von trier than 1. If you like his stuff you'll like this, it is in many ways his magnum opus (although not his best film)

Also i saw Interstellar on 35mm ans I'm going to sleep now so I'll write tomorrow but I think it was pretty decent that's about it
Lucy is 0/10

more than it deserves
entirely fair, I agree I gave it more credit than it's due
12 angry men - 10/10
bit of an odd watch for me but i still found it incredibly powerful despite its age. it's a film that's legitimately worth a 10.
i think all lars' movies suck except Dancer in the Dark
I've only ever seen Melancholia but I really liked it.
No matter your opinion on Intersteller, you can't possibly disagree that the visuals, cinematography (on the space shots most of all), and score were all fucking amazing. 10/10
The movie overall I'd give at least an 8.5/10. I really enjoyed it
American Movie
5/5
A top notch documentary, equally funny and saddening. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

score was great but not all that original. for the most part it was zimmer borrowing from phillip glass and nine inch nails (i need to rewatch the movie again to remember which nin intro it sounded a lot like)

Score was zimmer 's best work in years, one of the standout aspects of the film imo
neighbors/bad neighbours
it's a good seth rogen movie if you like seth rogen movies
only watching for zac efron's tight bod

(no homer)
Ran - 10/10
I didnt expect to watch it all in one sitting but it was just sooo goood. Essentially proved to me that kurosawa is a master director.

Also has some of the best use of color i have seen for a color movie of that time

Saw Rashomon, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, Ran, and Kagemusha on sale at a used book store near me for like 15 bucks each. If I hadn't recently lost my job I'd have snapped them up in a heartbeat. That's the cheapest I've seen any of them.
Interstellar - 3/5
The post-apocalyptic future was interesting and creative. The plot was full of short cuts but still didn't put the 3 hours to good use. Towards the end I began getting a bit tired of the dramatic music. Watch it for the visuals and the acting.
yo I just saw Dr Strangelove and it's one good ass film
Quiet, you'll anger Rusty.
Bottle Rocket
5/5
A strong debut movie from Wes Anderson and the Wilson brothers. It's a really fun movie. Not Anderson's best, but still very good.

didn't know it was opposite day again
yo I just saw Dr Strangelove and it's one good ass film
It's old, it's iconically American, it's comedy, it has the Soviets, cold war and the nuclear threat as its usual setting.. Bleagh, color me disinterested.

literally can't tell if this post is a joke or not
its unfunny slapstick nonmedy
its unfunny slapstick nonmedy
Seeing how you constantly shit all over Dr Stangelove and Monty Python I cannot help but wonder, if there's any comedy that makes you laugh?
comedy movies are usually bad but there are ones i do like
in the loop, four lions, and probably more i can't think of right now
i mostly watch comedy tv. arrested development, always sunny, etc.
you know. things that are well written and have smarts behind their stupid characters.
that said the eric andre show consistently has me in tears
literally can't tell if this post is a joke or not
Not really.. It was not a joke.
I just checked it out as a movie suggestion, but it doesn't strike as my cup of tea, that's all.
I've never heard of anyone not liking Monty Python
I've never heard of anyone not liking Monty Python
They're usually pretty terrible people.
Seeing how you constantly shit all over Dr Stangelove and Monty Python I cannot help but wonder, if there's any comedy that makes you laugh?
why would you use those two movies as some sort of standard to comedy tho, i haven't seen dr strangelove but monty python is pretty unique, there's no sense in judging someone's sense of humor based only on whether or not they like it
Eh I haven't seen much but I saw MP and the Holy Grail and I honestly didn't care all that much for the humor
its unfunny slapstick nonmedy
It's more of a farce than a slapstick comedy.
