Human Centipede 2 Jesus fucking fucked fuck. What the everliving hell was that Made 1 look like Finding Nemo. Still sucks though
Human Centipede 1 was absurd and dumb but Human Centipede 2 is just offensively bad.
I got half way through the first human centipede and just turned it off not cos it's too disturbing or anything but just cos it's insanely fucking shit
i thought it was funny
I finally gotten around to seeing the better Total Recall film everyone has been talking about. It's amazing. I love the somewhat dystopian future setting where your typical company tries to cover-up somethingsomething because of the supposed danger behind it. The story left me in suspense as Quaid tries to find out his real identity. The twists and turns in this film surprised the crap out of me. Even the action scenes were top notch. It's not particularly the most violent movie I have ever seen, but it's up there if compared to other action films released during that time period. Colin Farrell and Bryan Cranston were amazing. 9/10
spike lee did it again
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) 10/10 One of the best movies I've ever seen. It's artsy-ness is cleverly entangled with it's brilliant story-telling, constantly keeping you guessing on what is real and what is happening inside of Micheal Keaton's brain. Everyone in this movies is really really good too. (Especially Micheal Keaton and Edward Norton) It's the most balanced movie I've ever seen and provides provocative and intelligent commentary on what people expect from entertainment, and what content creators go through to bring their vision to the screen/stage. Not only that, but this movie is really really well shot. My only complaint is that some of the CG looks a pretty cheesy, but that's not the focus of the movie, nor is it used very often. It's just a very enjoyable film. Some may find it depressing, I personally found it to be more enlightening and very satisfying.
Human Centipede 1 was absurd and dumb but Human Centipede 2 is just offensively bad.
Speaking of, for giggles, I watched God's Not Dead. Now THAT is offensively bad.
Speaking of, for giggles, I watched God's Not Dead. Now THAT is offensively bad.
Oh Christ; one of my more redneck churchbros wouldn't shut up about how good that movie was when it came out. I'm probably more christian than he is.
Speaking of offensively bad christian movies, my local theater was showing like a shit ton of showings of Saving Christmas (Kirk Cameron, need I say more) versus a very limited amount of the newer releases. Thankfully that's been rectified. If I miss out on going to see my choice of Interstellar, Fury, Gone Girl, or John Wick I would have been pissed. I know a bunch of those have been out for a while, but this is the first time in a long time I have time to go to a movie. Also review content, Pulp Fiction 10 out of 10, my favorite Tarantino movie personally.
Saving Christmas has the greatest movie poster ever made
The Thing 4/5 I was going to watch is on Halloween, but I saw Nightcrawler instead, and now I've finally got around to it. And yeah, it's still one of my all time favorite horror movies. The whole couch scene is still able to put me in knots.
if you are a real man you'll change that 4 to a 5
Saving Christmas has the greatest movie poster ever made
Releasing a christian christmas movie in the middle of november because you know that it'll get crushed and ignored when released near actual christmas is kind of really sad. [editline]sad[/editline] Speaking of really sad things I've watched 3:10 To Yuma last night and this movie is the most fucking depressing thing I've seen in a long time.

True Grit 9/10 "I do not know this man."
gg allin is fascinating to me
I remember seeing at least some parts of that documentary, and around 32 minutes in he said that if he didn't do all that shit then he'd probably just kill somebody or worse.
where the wild things are i really really like this movie
Like, there may have even been a shred of sense left inside this GG Allin person, despite everything. [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] god damn it
True Grit 9/10
true boring true fell asleep
Most Coen Brothers movies are superficially boring in that nothing really happens or is accomplished for a good deal of the runtime, but I sure do find them engrossing. I checked out Inside Llewyn Davis so I can re-watch it. My buddy (who hasn't seen it) is really into folk music and Bob Dylan so I'm looking forward to seeing it with him. I can understand not liking them, though. My brother likes some of their movies but gets frustrated at how they aren't really satisfying in the end.
Update: Inside Llewyn Davis is still really good will write more when not tired
The Big Lebowski is legit the best movie ever made there are no exceptions.
But that's not even the best Coen Brothers' movie, dummy.
The Coen Brothers haven't touched The Big Lebowski in terms of quality since it was released in my opinion. The closest one of their movies ever got to its goodness was No Country For Old Men. Which is almost inarguably a 10/10 film.
Both Barton Fink and Miller's Crossing are better (some'd say the same about Fargo, but I'm not particularly fond of it). But afterwards there was both No Country for Old Men which needs no explanation and True Grit - a superior on all fields remake and one of the best modern westerns out there. An honorable mention goes to Inside Llewyn Davis, panned by reviews but my absolute favourite of Coens', most because of the unique ambiance and melancholic feeling that comes with it. Lebowski is still great, nonetheless.

Llewyn Davis was panned? Had no idea. I saw it at a preview screening so I had nothing that could have coloured my opinion but I think it's one of their very best films. Need to see it again.
