watched The Imitation Game now I have no clue who this Cumberbatch dude is, he just kind of appeared out of nowhere in the last few years like a snake or something, but now that I've seen this film... he really is a terrific actor m8. Well worth watching, so be on the look for a release where you are. There are a few oscar bait moments and the traditional motifs here and there, but imo as a whole you've got one heck of a film. It's reminiscent of A Beautiful Mind but not as fluffy. To sum up, that academy will be nominating cuMbermunch, no doubt about this.
Mimic- 7/10 I liked this movie quite a lot. The creature design and effects were pretty nice, the set design gave off a very dirty and claustrophobic atmosphere, and I thought the overall story concept was pretty neat. The only things that bothered me were the frequent cop-out jumpscare moments and various plot conveniences that really stretched my suspension of disbelief, even with this story premise.
Big Hero 6 - 8/10 Lots of action with some good humor mixed in. Visually very appealing as well. The story was a bit predictable with room for a sequel but very enjoyable regardless.
Predestination - 8/10 Despite kind of guessing the ending, it still had me curious. A fair good film, all the acting is well done as well. The cinematography is well done as well.
Finally watched Drive, 8.5/10
Drive gets better every time you watch it.
Same with Only God Forgives, but instead you start with 2/10.
Same with Only God Forgives, but instead you start with 2/10.
First time I saw Only God Forgives I gave it a 7/10. Re-watching it twice since release, I've grown a bit more interested in it. Sure it features Gosling staring off into places like usual, but all dat symbolism tho.
I think a plot change between the comic's story and film is a good thing.
Yeah, I liked how they adapted it. The comic was about the introduction of Kitty Pryde. By using Wolverine, who we already know, the time-traveler could take a back seat to further developing Charles and Erik. Good stuff.
Expendables 3 They go into one general area that will take up a chunk of the film. Several different scenes of different action heroes fighting Stormtroopers. Some specific action stars reference a line from their past film. Stallone kills the big bad through fist fighting. Expendables drink at a bar. End. Obviously I'm not expecting the greatest film ever, but it was kind of nice to see some action scenes. Other than that, skip this film.
I only caught the final battle (came in about a minute before they found the young guns in the building) and I feel like I can get away with skipping the rest of it.
I know this is not the right place to ask, but please bear with me. My friend asked me if "a mech with submarine like torso" rang any bell. So we started a search for it, and so far we've found nothing. Here is the list of details i've gathered about it: - The mech looks something like this: http://sketchtoy.com/63771299 (drawn by my friend) - The mech is an experiment went rogue - 2 mechs were dispatched to fight it, one of which was piloted by a young boy, no, this is not Evangelion - The movie/series is live action (e.g with real humans) - It's a Japanese movie/series - It (the movie/series) was in a VHS tape - He said it was partially psychological like Evangelion I don't know why but I have to know what this mech is or the name of this movie.
Drive gets better every time you watch it.
I've only seen it once, but it's a good film alright. And 8.5/10 is a good score, for such a simple plot too. It doesn't really leave you wondering or nothing, it just gives you this cool "warrior"-like character, doing his cool thing, and [sp]eventually dying in his own, cool terms.[/sp]
Frank Miller's Sin City 8/10 This is a movie I have been putting off watching for a while and I'll definitely say I didn't come out disappointed. The whole "graphic novel" approach was really damn cool. I dunno if I'll bother to see the sequel only because it's more Sin City.

A lot better than some recent releases. The acting was great. Fuck that little kid was so annoying at times, I had my sound at pretty low too, and I'd hear his screams ring my ears.

V/H/S I don't know if I should give a 2 or 3/10. It was really bad though
Sounds like Gurren Lagann (gr8 show) [t]http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e135/ShadowBankotsu/Tengen%20Toppa%20Gurren%20Lagann/Gurren_Lagann_-_Dai-Gunzan.jpg[/t]
I tried watching that but it felt like a saturday morning kids show so I stopped.
It gets way better and, darker after a major plot point hits surprisingly early, i mmean it's still mecha anime but definitely the best one
just got home watching Nightcrawler pretty fucking good. [sp]only thing i didnt like was perhaps the soundtrack, i dont know if it was deliberately encouraging in a forest gump kinda way. Weird, but I guess it fit the movie. Maybe it was his subjective reality being the uplifting soundtrack contrasting with whatever creepy shit is going on infront of the camera[/sp] all in all one of the best movies of 2014, 83/100

He percieves himself to be the main character, the hero. Therefore, when he does something fucked up and the soundtrack presents it as something "uplifting", it's uplifting to him because he is triumphing in his "struggle".[/sp]
[sp]but he didn't die[/sp]
[sp]Sure about that?[/sp]
[sp] He died? It's been a while since I saw it, but I remember him getting stabbed once or twice, but he seemed totally chill while driving a few hours later. Maybe he bled out? I guess I never really thought much about it. [/sp]
[sp]it's implied he lives. theres also a second book iirc[/sp] [editline]30th November 2014[/editline]
[sp]Sure about that?[/sp]
yes
[sp]Sure about that?[/sp]
quite sure
Man I loved Gurren Lagann. It was ridiculous and over the top, and a lot of fun. And it was surprisingly emotional at times too.
I told someone to watch The Raid: Redemption while they were in the process of getting drunk "l: injust l: threqw l: yo l: in l: thebathfucn l: findmy l: conaract l: esene l: this isobad" also does anyone recommend; "The Salvation" it's with the main actor from Jagten aka The Hunt, and I really liked his acting in that movie.
so why is it called "The Raid: Redemption" anyways? it's a great movie but there is pretty much no redemption in it
I think it was because there was a recent movie that came out around the same time called The Raid, so they had to change it, but I think when it was originally released in Indonesia, it was just called 'The Raid'.
Just watched Only God Forgives. What the hell was that and how do I rate it
Just watched Only God Forgives. What the hell was that and how do I rate it
Everything makes a ton more sense if you start to read into the symbolism stuff.
fury - 8/10 not as good as end of watch but still pretty enjoyable
