You clearly haven't seen Halloween 2.
Halloween 3* I had to fix that for you, H2 was good shit (unless you mean the Rob Zombie remake, which I didn't see).
The Blair Witch Project - 6/10
The Blair Witch Project - 6/10
TBWP is great, probably the only movie that has legit scared me.
The Road - 6.7/10 i finished reading the book yesterday and well yea there are some differences, not just in events that occur but also character wise the book just deals alot better and more realistic with the world and situations theyre in than in the movie the book is so poetic with everything, but the movie just couldnt capture most of it
the book is so poetic with everything, but the movie just couldnt capture most of it
tbh it is impossible to do Cormac McCarthy's prose justice in film. Blood Meridian is an even better example of that. No movie could capture what the prose does for the novel.

The Secret of Kells-10/10
A Bridge Too Far- 10/10 Excellent war film. Top notch acting and skillful direction. Hard to believe I hadn't seen this before.
The perks of being a wallflower, 7/10 I usually dont enjoy movies with drama and such, but I kinda liked this one. I guess being a loner in my school, I could relate a lot to the main character(a loner who has gone through shit and starts high school without any friends). Fight club, 8/10 Well fuck. I did not expect that. Otherwise it was pretty alright, but good jesus those last 40-30 minutes..[sp]well whenever that plottwist kicked in, i mean[/sp] Gran torino, 8/10 It was really nice to watch, gave me several chuckles due to Eastwood being such an amazing grumpy old man. It was kinda sad too though, which I kinda like in movies.
Man of Steel - 8/10
The Green Hornet 2011 6/10 it was alright but certainly not a terrible movie
Just watched Inception I'll give it like a 9/10 maybe a 9.5 it was actually really rad. I went into it thinking "oh man i heard it was complicated" but I kept a really good grip on what was happening and i enjoyed all the weird physical elements that were shifting in the different levels of dreaming I really loved the idea of dream time
Spring Breakers -10/10 God I don't know why my friend wanted to watch this. It is literally trash in every sense of the word. Giving it a 0/10 just doesn't cut it for me. It is so bad, so shallow and so crappy that it deserves a 10 in the entire opposite spectrum of horribleness. I mean the fucking intro is Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Seriously just look at the soundtrack.
1. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites – Skrillex 2. Rise And Shine Little B***h – Cliff Martinez & Skrillex 3. Pretend It’s a Video Game – Cliff Martinez 4. With You, Friends (Long Drive) – Skrillex 5. Hangin’ With Da Dopeboys – Dangeruss with James Franco 6. Bikinis & Big Booties Y’all – Cliff Martinez & Skrillex 7. Never Gonna Get This P***y – Cliff Martinez 8. Goin’ In (Skrillex Goin’ Down Remix) – Birdy Nam Nam 9. F**k This Industry – Waka Flocka Flame 10. Smell This Money (Original Mix) – Skrillex 11. Scary Monsters on Strings – Skrillex 19. Lights – Ellie Goulding
Half the fucking soundtrack is Skrillex
I genuinely cried while reading the book.
I mean the fucking intro is Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Seriously just look at the soundtrack. Half the fucking soundtrack is Skrillex
Well at least it's fitting for spring break.
Anyone here who has seen both versions of The Blob and able to tell me which one is better?
Spring Breakers was excellent. One of the best of the year imo. So many people went in with absolutely wrong expectations. It wasn't gonna be Project X 2, it wasn't gonna be just Ass 'n Titties, it wasn't gonna be all about drinking and drugs and sex. But I can't say I blame them since that's how it was advertised and aside knowing it was written and directed by Harmony Korine there's nothing to hint otherwise. But I'm a Harmony Korine fan. I viewed it as an art film from before I even entered the cinema instead of just trashy nothingness. I thought it was really cool, it was more a satire/critique of the spring break lifestyle and definitely not just boobs and guns and drink and drugs like people said it was. I never felt that for a second. I think Korine is a great director and one of the best interesting going. The film deals with loneliness, finding meaning in an empty/dull (even if it's supposedly exciting- the girls with the whole party scene, Alien being a gangster. Selena Gomez does not fit into her scene and James Franco is lost and alone- that's why he befriends the girls. he sees them as an escape, even if not from the lifestyle at least an escape from the reality. There is more to it than this and I could list of more but I think I'd have to watch the film again since I only saw it once. It is a sad movie. not a comedy or ridiculous party film. It annoys me that so many people just passed this off as trashy sexploitation cinema. The film was great not mentioning technical aspects- but it looks beautiful. Some really cool cinematography, the lighting was beautiful- the use of slowmotion, neon, etc, it sometimes feels like a music video- which is exactly the kind of thing I think Korine was trying to portray. A glamorous and supposedly exciting lifestyle, that is actually hollow and kind of embarassing. The drawn out party scenes are meant to be dull and boring despite all the nudity, drugs and alcohol- it doesn't want to glamourise. It's meant to be a little bit uncomfortable. also, the montage to the Britney Spears song=fuckin awesome. he's changed the way I view Everytime just the same as he changed how I see Like A Prayer (imo one of the best popsongs ever) by Madonna in Gummo, which was one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen tbh. Like A Prayer is now haunting and chilling to me. It's like a dream, it's beautiful on a whole new level. I feel like Korine hasn't left a mark in the industry since Gummo but I feel like he's got more in him. People complained about his work being rather similar, which I wouldn't disagree with, but Spring Breakers was really quite different and I think he's going somewhere else now. I can't wait to see where he goes from here.

World War Z 7.5/10 This was actually a surprise hit for me, I really enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately I had to watch it in 3D at the cinema, although I don't feel like this movie needs 3D at all. Finally this was a zombie movie that was quite different and refreshing and not as predictable as many other. I really liked how the zombies acted in this movie, very different and really threatening. The plot was actually really decent and not generic and kept me entertained. The movie combined action, tension and dialogues really well. I'm not a type of person who like CGI but it was quite spectacular in this movie and it did not bother me at all. It looked really great. The only thing that bothered me at the beginning was the hectic camerachanges during the first few chases and action sequences were quite confusing, even more so with the 3D. I was totally confused and my eyes hurt a bit. Luckily the movie turned less chaotic later on. Some spoilers about the movie: [sp]The idea with the disease was really great in my opinion and all the sequences were epic, especially the one in korea and the ending. It was really suspensful. Although the plane crash was a bit exagerated and felt unrealistic, they could have changed that part a bit.[/sp] Definitly worth it, I recommend this to anyone who is even remotely interested in such movies. Especially this one who spices the genre a bit up with new ideas.
saw Before Midnight What a film.. what a friggin' film. Not been gobsmacked by a piece of cinema this year yet but I knew one step to a smaller release will easily strike chords with me. Now this is as far away from a big romantic drama film as you're gonna get. Its core is literally life and that's it. You will experience natural, seemless conversation and not iddy bitty ones which are merely plot devices but actual reflective discussion moving through symbols in life and drama as well as sex and happiness, and partnership. It can be so very relevent to parents' lives, especially mothers here. It's a bewildering array of fully-focused personal and very real love, spirituality and conflicts. I haven't seen the first two in this series and in all honesty it probably paid off, I stepped into their lives at this stage where things are tough, past relationships causing horror and the children having the upmost determining factor in whether people can really get on and live. Now this may not answer a whole lot of things for you, but it's such a sweet film that has no stodge whatsoever. I was able to lose myself in conversation and that was the key in my enjoyment here. For people who found Sunset Limited a breeze, this will connect with you in a smooth way. Some could moan that "only intellectuals" could enjoy this, tell em to fuck off this is the deal. Shot straight to top 2013 flick for me.
I love this series, you absolutely HAVE to see the first two. It only makes it sweeter.
I love this series, you absolutely HAVE to see the first two. It only makes it sweeter.
Definitely, they're next after what I saw. So glad I chose to see it in the theatre though, I was a bit eerie that I wouldn't get it if I missed the first two. I read somewhere that you didn't really need to see them to get it and it just felt like a movie I needed to see. It was such a tiny screening too which made it all the more an intimate experience.
I saw Moon I love how tied up everything is in the movie. Yeah it was easier to do because of the small cast and just being one setting the whole time, but because of that, you could finish the movie without having any questions or any plotholes. It felt very satisfying because of that. Also, the concept behind it (won't spoil anything) sound like exactly what we'd do a few years from now. Just one thing, if you plan to watch this movie, don't read up anything about it, don't watch any trailers, just go in it completely blind.
Loved that movie, it was fantastic. Such a gem, it completely caught me off-guard.
2001: A Space Odyessy Magnificent!/10
Cloud Atlas I can't even put numbers to it. At first I was a little lost but as it progressed everything just kind of fit together, and the last 10 minutes honestly brought a tear to my eye. I can't even remember the last time a film did that to me. Fantastic film, suggest everyone goes and sees it
Butt Atlas
Gotta love the Cloud-to-Butt extension.
Gotta love the Cloud-to-Butt extension.
this is literally one of the unfunniest things ever "HURRR BUTTS" cloud atlas wasnt that good either, felt cluttered, and the cast didnt really fit their roles
I caught a short bit of Cloud Atlas on TV recently, is that movie actually supposed to be serious? Most of the make up and shit on characters looked like something you'd see in some goofy comedy and it just kept jumping around COMPLETELY different scenes randomly without any transition and any connection between them.
Got around to watching Arachnophobia tonight. At least a 7, maybe an 8/10 and one of my all-time favorites. The spider scenes are unnerving as hell, let alone the finale. It's tense, it's well-paced and most importantly, with the exception of the general and the queen, it's entirely live spiders. Yes, they actually had almost 400 Avondale spiders on set. Filming it must've been an absolute nightmare. All I can say about this movie is that if you're watching it and you don't suddenly get itchy all over your body at least once, you might wanna check your pulse.
Not as good as Eight Legged Freaks.
