I enjoyed Gone Girl but it really pissed me off with the ending [sp]how she just gets away with murdering the guy, no repercussions. It just made me think that real life wouldn't be that fucking bogus, and getting away with murder wouldn't be that easy. Especially the whole FBI being so empathetic and caring for her cause and telling the Detective to back off and get off the case. That was just bullshit and ruined it a little[/sp]

fargo - 8/10 the story could have been better but damn this movie is so pretty

go is such a good character
the inbetweeners 2: definitely a better movie than the first
I bought The Raid 2 on blu-ray and turns out it comes with a poster [t]http://i.imgur.com/VcWPfZA.jpg?1[/t] Really wish I could find a 1080p wallpaper of that shit because this is a great poster
The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies 3.5/5 The first half of the battle was rather boring and there was too much fucking CGI. It really bugged the shit out of me when I saw that Billy Connolly's face was totally CG instead of the real thing. The last third of the movie was by far the best, but only because it was less of a mindless battle between faceless combatants to more one on one action. It wasn't great, but it was an okay popcorn movie.
Killers (2014) A bore. Frankly, they shouldn't have advertised it as a "MOVIE FROM THE CREATORS OF THE RAID". They're nothing alike, and besides, Gareth Evans wasn't even involved in this, possibly because he knew it was a fucking disaster. It felt like it was just going through the motions, no message, no enthusiasm behind it. They used every single fucking cliche they could have thought about. No performances stand out, the soundtrack is terrible (it's literally just a BRRRRR tone and a club song), and the direction is questionable. There are a couple of graphic scenes, but they are neither scary nor creative. What really ruined the movie for me is the Japanese lead's acting. He certainly looks the part of a serial killer, but there is a glaring problem - he can't pronounce the letter "L". My entire life I've thought that it's just a racist preconception people make fun about, but holy shit, the "R" was real strong in this movie. Or should I say "rear strong"? I've watched it the way they had planned it - in original audio, and I sort of regretted it. It's supposed to be a dark, twisted, serious movie, but the fact that the Jap lead kept saying shit like "the feering that makes you feer" really ruined it for me. I don't usually rate movies, but this is one star out of five. They tried, but it didn't even matter.
Hot Fuzz oh my god this fucking movie. so you have a strict London cop, Nicholas Angle, who excels at pretty much everything. his chief thinks that this makes everyone else on the team look bad so he sends Nick to a remote village to become a sergeant there. once he gets there he realizes that pretty much nobody in the town gives a shit. at first you think that the comedy will just be a strict London cop interacting with the laid back townspeople but damn does it go far from that. 10/10 go watch it and other frost/pegg movies. I know I will.

Dragon Ball Z movies 1-14 and two specials called Bardock - The Father of Goku and The History of Trunks. I watched them all in Blu-ray quality in 1080p, looks a lot better than dvd quality, as they had letterboxes. They seemed to be extended versions also, which is awesome! Movies 10/10 Video 10/10 Audio 10/10
I went and saw Big Hero 6 yesterday. It was pretty cute. Main complaints come in the form of a rather generic story (WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED A SERIES BASED OFF OF SENTAI STLYE STUFF HAS A GENERIC STORY) and poor sound design. The second complaint is really exaggerated because it's an animated film. The film itself looked really nice, with nice sweeping shots of the town and a good visualization of what the comics were going for. But the action scenes fell a little flat when the banging and such is so quiet. The character designs and personality I found to be really nice and in general pretty fun to watch. The writing on them was also nice, sans a few jokes that obviously pandered more to the kids than the adults. Back to the story though, it's a fairly standard story with a fairly standard twist. It didn't really need to be anything more, but I wish it was. It also fails to give good backstory on the characters that aren't Hiro and his brother, but they were serviceable. The visuals, as I said, we nice. The characters looked really stylized and the costumes were really well done. Though in some scenes, with a lot of small objects or water, it looked sort of phoned in using some sort of physics rendering technology. Could be wrong on that one though. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10, maybe would've been a bit higher if they elaborated on some of the characters and given the sounds some oomph to them. I should also note that the actual placement of sounds on the theater system was also strange. Sometimes the sounds would come out of one side of the room with no carrying over to the other side. It was a little jarring.
Inglourious Basterds - 9/10 I have so much to talk about in this movie that there's no doubt I'll forget a lot of what I want to say. But first let me just say that this movie went in a completely different direction than what I expected, but despite the fact that 95% of this movie is dialogue, it's entirely engrossing and I found myself entertained the entire time. I realized by the end that if the movie had just been Brad Pitt killing NAT-SEES the entire time, it probably would have exhausted its fun. With the direction it took, it managed to make the violent scenes much more impactful. It was hilarious too, Christoph Waltz played Hanz even better than he played Dr. Schultz, he was amazing. Even though I knew he was in the movie as a prominent role, it didn't even occur to me that it was Waltz because he looked so drastically different than in Django. His mannerisms in pretty much every scene made everyone laugh every time, he was perfect. Brad Pitt, Laurent, Kruger, and Fassbender [sp]for the short amount of time he was alive[/sp] also were great, especially Pitt when Aldo tried to speak Italian, that was incredible. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the Basterds, but I don't remember any of their names besides The Bear Jew and the angry one, Stiglitz, who [sp]defected to the Basterds after escaping from the Nazi prison[/sp] Not that they didn't act well, they were good, but I felt like they didn't have nearly enough prominence in the movie and I can't differentiate them right now (except once again the Bear Jew and the angry knife guy). It's was nice to see Tarantino's tracking shot that was used in Kill Bill during the party make a return in the [sp]pre-viewing party of Nation's Pride[/sp], and while it wasn't as extravagant as in Kill Bill, it must have still taken hours to capture that right. The movie as a whole looked very nice, but cinematography isn't one of strongest points in Tarantino films (except for the food porn). It got the job done very well though. I have a few gripes with some things in the movie, but some may be answerable and others aren't that big of a deal. [sp]I like how Hans Landa revealed that he wasn't really loyal to the Nazis after all, but I felt like there could have been some subtle hints toward his apathy toward the Nazi cause and all that. Perhaps there were some really hidden ones that I didn't catch on, but it felt like such a strange change in character. Someone can tell me if I'm wrong about that though. Another one wasn't that big of a deal, but when Hammersmark realized that it was her shoe that she picked out of the coat pocket and it became very obvious to her that Hans was planning on killing her, why did she just...not do anything until he started choking her? I thought that was pretty dumb, especially considering how much of an opportunity she had to escape it (heeled foot right next to his balls anyone??). And it was already shown that she wasn't afraid to kill, because just last chapter she shot Wilhelm. Eh, just seemed dumb to me. One more thing, and this isn't even a flaw I guess, but I found it kind of strange that all the collaborators in the Operation Kino planned to commit suicide by bombing. Never once in the movie did they discuss how they were going to die in the mission and I think that's a pretty big deal to most. Aldo doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would suicide bomb anyway, because of his extreme sense of equal justice and all that. I didn't sit right with me that they would do that instead of just like slipping the bombs underneath the seats then leaving the theater.[/sp] Regardless of those, this movie was amazing, especially watching [sp]Hitler get ABSOLUTELY OBLITERATED. Seriously, the entire time I was like "this plan can't work, Hitler's in the theater and movies never have Hitler die in it because the plans always fail. And there's two plans going at the same time, they'll conflict with each other and ruin everything." AND THEN IT WORKS PERFECTLY AND HITLER'S FACE GETS DEMOLISHED.[/sp] Extremely satisfying, and I'd recommend this (who hasn't seen this movie yet except for me, really) to anyone who has the attention span to watch a talky movie. Even though it's well known that Tarantino films are known for long spans of dialogue, this movie definitely alienated some audience members because I'm sure almost everyone expected it to be the Basterds going around mass-murdering Nazis the entire time. Very unique movie. And RIP [sp]Wilhelm, he didn't deserve to die[/sp] :(
oh sorry, I thought we were all in here to review movies. now that I know you need to be an acclaimed director yourself to critisize others direction, I'd better keep my opinions to myself!
Except you didn't even give any good input, you just posted "hate the director, didn't watch it" [editline]21st December 2014[/editline] Fury 9/10 Really really damn good, didn't expect a performance like that from Shia
Worlds End is a complete disappointment after seeing Hot Fuzz
It's lesser, yeah, but calling it a complete disappointment is just unnecessarily harsh on WE. It took a different turn that I actually appreciated.

The Lone Ranger - 6/10 I found the action scenes to be pretty fun, but this movie was way too long. Could have cut plenty. Has to be the most violent Disney movie I've seen though.

The earlier ones are better and some of the later ones too.
Scrooged - 7.5/10 Uneven, but when it's good it's really good. And by "it's really good" I mean "it made me cry"
